Paul Ryan sat down for an interview with Matt Smith, a reporter with WISN-TV in Milwaukee. He started the interview with his recurring theme of blaming TFG for the Republicans' losses in 2018, 2020 and 2022 and that they would lose again in 2024. But this time, Ryan added the small twist of saying that he would skip the 2024 RNC convention in Milwaukee if TFG is the nominee.

But was Ryan ever planning on going? After resigning from Congress, he and his family packed up and moved to the East Coast. He's been avoiding returning to Wisconsin almost as much as he's avoiding confronting Trump.

Likewise, his sounding the alarm about TFG probably would have had more impact if he acted like that when he had any authority to do something. Even now, Ryan is conspicuous in his active avoidance of TFG.

Or maybe Ryan isn't avoiding Trump per se, but avoiding the fact that TFG isn't really the problem as much as he is the symptom. It's actually the entire GOP who is so toxic that they can't win anymore.

Addendum: When TFG found out what Ryan had said, he had his expected conniption fit:

Paul Ryan is a loser, Mitt Romney could have won without him. I won twice, did much better the second time, and was 233 Wins out of 253 Races in the Midterms. Paul Ryan is destroying Fox, and couldn’t get elected dogcatcher in the Republican Party!

That was pretty lame, even for TFG. Maybe he needs to be put down for a nap.
