Donald Trump is very upset with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy after he answered a reporter's question, saying that deceased Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt was not murdered, adding, "I think the police officer did his job."

In MAGA land, if a white police officer shoots an unarmed Black man, it's OK. But if a Black officer shoots a white woman trying to stop the peaceful transition of power, that's not OK. Babbit had a mob of savages behind her as she crawled through a broken window at the Capitol leading into an area known as the Speaker's Lobby.

"I totally disagree with the Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, in that the Police Officer "Thug," who has had a very checkered past to begin with, was not just "doing his job" when he shot and killed Great Patriot Ashli Babbitt at point blank range," the one-term president wrote. "Despite trying to keep him anonymous, shielded, and protected, this MISFIT proudly showed up on NBC Fake Nightly News "bragging" about the killing. He was not a hero but a COWARD, who wanted to show how tough he was. ASHLI BABBITT WAS MURDERED!!!"

The officer who shot Babbitt did not "brag" about the incident on NBC. Just add that to Trump's mountain of lies.

Babbitt was killed because of one person. One person shoulders the blame. The man who called for his supporters to march to the Capitol while electoral votes were being counted. That man can be found in Florida at a gaudy resort called Mar-a-Lago.

Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd is a hero. He kept the members of Congress safe. That's his job.
