As one tweet put it, "Kelowna council candidate Brady Rogers is an engineer and business owner who hates politics and meetings, and admits on his own campaign site that he barely wants to do this, but cares about Kelowna and thinks he can help." Now he has his chance, as his unlikely campaign just landed him a city council seat.

Despite all the signs, campaign events and political messaging circulating around Kelowna, the biggest challenge of this municipal election may be getting people to pay attention.
But, for one council candidate it hasn't been a problem.
Brady Rogers, who wasn't even expecting to run for council this year, made an unorthodox pitch and has found himself in the spotlight across Canada and parts of the U.S.
Here it is: “I guess I’m running for Kelowna city council.”
Then there's his bio: “Hi, I’m Brady. Do I enjoy politics? No. Do I know what I’m doing? No. But am I qualified? Also no.”
That seemingly underwhelming introduction caught the eye of a U.S. social media creator MandiFromtheInternet, or Mandi Jung, picked up his campaign and highlighted it through her own socials.
Jung is a U.S. teacher and social media creator who has built a substantial following through commentary on education, politics and policy.
She had a laugh at the campaign she described as the "most millennial thing ever," and Rogers, in turn, saw more than 100 thousand views come his way, prompting a flood of emails and interview requests from media outlets in Canada and the United States. Rogers said the Vancouver Sun, the Ben Mulroney Show and U.S. media were among those reaching out.
"It's been crazy seeing that reel take off," Rogers said. "The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, which has been very encouraging, actually, and kind of validating because I thought it was a pretty good campaign, too."

And with this boost, his unconventional campaign took off. via 604 Now:
Turns out the hilarious campaign actually worked. 😂
Brady Rogers has won a seat on Kelowna city council after going viral for his unconventional and self-deprecating campaign. The 33-year-old entrepreneur gained attention for signs featuring lines like “I barely want to do this” and “How hard could it be?”
Rogers finished fourth in the council race with 12,635 votes, earning one of eight seats on Kelowna city council. He was one of 37 candidates competing for a spot.
@Mandifromtheinternet saw it on Twitter and thought, "There's no way this can be real."
His yard sign campaign.
