One of the first live rock n' roll concerts to be broadcast, The Blues & Rhythm Midnight Matinee was intended to be a weekly concert series broadcast from Olympic Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles. This broadcast made between September 28 and 29, 1951 features a wide array of local blues talent in the L.A. area at the time and hosted by one of the legends of early rock n' roll radio, Hunter Hancock.
