Happy Mondays - somewhere in the middle of a third incarnation.

Jumping into the 90's this weekend with Madchester stalwarts Happy Mondays, live in concert from January 18, 1991.

One of the landmark bands of the 1990's, Happy Mondays kicked off the Madchester Movement and became something of a cornerstone ever since. They've gone through three incarnations over the years - the first, probably considered the halcyon days for the band, lasted until 1994 when members went separate ways. It was this first incarnation that got the most in the way of publicity - not least for the wretched excess exploits of front man Shaun Ryder. But they did contribute a huge amount of great music and had massive appeal pretty much all over the world.

Here is a concert from that halcyon period. A concert given in London on January 18, 1991 with the band in memorable form.

In case you forgot, or in the event you never heard them the first time around - turn this one up.
