(Kaleidoscope - the UK band, not the Los Angeles one - but the melted minds were the same)

There were two Kaleidoscopes at one time - the Los Angeles one and the UK one. Both had loyal followings and both were responsible for more than their fair share of out-of-body experiences. Where the Los Angeles Kaleidoscope was more folk/world oriented, London Kaleidoscope was flat-out Psych with lights, white noise and double-tracking.

Tonight it's the UK Kaleidoscope - the one that lasted from 1967 to 1969 before parting ways, doing other things and leaving legacies.

This track In The Room Of Percussion is off their first album Tangerine Dream (oddly, a name "borrowed" for a German Prog Group a few years later).

Listening to it today you begin to realize just how interesting 1967 actually was. And why it didn't really last all that long.
