Glen Hansard -- High Hope, from Rhythm and Repose

On the eve of the inauguration, the search is on to both spin and concern troll President Obama's next term. Frankly, I'm sick of both; neither will get it right. But still, I have high hopes. There was plenty of blood, sweat and tears to get to this point and there will be plenty more in the four years to come. And there will bang-your-head-on-the-wall moments of frustration as well as some victories. And while I don't think the "hope and change" that Obama ran on was fully realized, I do find it poignant and poetic that he will be inaugurated on the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 26th anniversary of the first national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The promise and the dream of those who came before him is answered by this historic second term of our first African American president. Now I hope it won't take 150 years from the suffrage movement for us to see our first female president...
