While he is not a lotus, nor is he flying, he is a very talented producer. Flying Lotus has had a very prolific career with a wide array of collaborations ranging from Thundercat to Thom Yorke, as well as his own releases. Interestingly enough, he's also the grandnephew of John Coltrane, so it looks like musical talent runs in the family. This particular piece is off his 2010 album, Cosmogramma, which combines live instrumentation with electronic sounds to create a unique fusion that stimulates the mind.
