O'Reilly Tries To Spin Out From The Naples Press

tof_blamekidza.jpg C&L readers know that Bill O'Reilly was cancelled out of his speaking engagement for the National Center for Missing Kids this week because of his horrendous treatment of Shawn Hornbeck which I highlighted many times. (Here's the original video.) Brent Batten tried to get an answer from FOX about Bill's no show in Florida, but is getting the runaround.

On Feb. 14 I e-mailed Fox News producer Ron Mitchell, who works with O’Reilly, asking him for a few words of explanation as to why O’Reilly was no longer on the March 9 program. He responded promptly, directing me to Fox News spokeswoman Irena Brigante. I called Brigante, who referred me to Ernie Allen, the president of the NCMEC. Allen, Brigante said, had a letter on the subject and would read it to me.

Allen did not return repeated messages left at his office....

Bottom line: On-air O’Reilly presides over what he calls a “No Spin Zone.” When it comes to his canceled appearance in Naples, there’s enough spinning going on to weave a rug...read on
