Guy, I'm not an "apologist," as you so inelegantly disparage. I worked in TV for 10 years in LA, most of it live (award shows, news, "Roc", etc.), and I know that most of the people working in the control room, particularly at the entry level (i.e., Chyron operators, teleprompter operators) are just not bright enough to even THINK to stick a D next to Arlen's name. They work their way down a list of possibly hundreds of names, in the dark practically, in this case each with an R or D next to it.

The MUCH more likely explanation in this case is a simple transposition, pulling a D off the end of the line before or after as they typed it in.

The problem with this theory is that the "R" or "D" is enclosed in (), so the entry is unlikely to be a "fat finger syndrome" issue. More likely is that the list they are handed (as you indicated) was written with the erroneous letters assigned...therbey making it a purposeful mistake, not an honest one.

To all the Faux Snews viewers and loyalists...they think you are idiots because they seem to think this actually works on you.

Normally, the U.S. attorney in Washington would bring such criminal contempt cases to a federal grand jury for possible indictment and prosecution.
