Mike's Blog Round Up

As most of you are blissfully unaware, I'm William K. Wolfrum from Williamkwolfrum.com, Shakesville.com, WorldGolf.com, and millions and millions of other Web sites, highway underpasses, granite slabs and little notes tied to the legs of carrier pigeons around the globe.

Anyway, feel free to call me Bill. Now I'm going to link you up a little. Oh yes I am. And you're gonna like it.

Atlantic Review: Who said "It's a quagmire if you go that far and invade Iraq"? That was Dick Cheney in 1994. And he was as right then as he is wrong now.

Brilliant at Breakfast: In a nation of George Bush, accepted corruption, unfettered eavesdropping, congressional racism, etc., there's just no place for a Captain America.

Digby: Making sure the emergency response center was placed in the WTC so it would be close to his personal love nest? If  Rudy Giuliani were a democrat, profits at tar and feather companies would rival oil companies.

Calle Vienna: Lindsey Graham is the latest to celebrate the classy Obama/Clinton sign made infamous by Mitt Romney.

Constant State of Flux: When Kurt Loder did a hatchet job on Michael Moore's "Sicko" it was made official, he was no longer an "American Journalist" but instead, a "film critic." You know, like Michael Medved.

Dvorak Uncensored: Want to win an election in Lebanon? Just make sure George Bush supports your opponent.

Trolling down the river:

Right-wing trolls starting a labor union? Well that's interesting, if I do say so myself.  Meanwhile, Teh Portly Dyke learns that you're just asking for trouble by even mentioning said trolls. Just remember one thing about trolls, however - deep down, they must be miserable.

Wow.. I'd never seen that video of Cheney before. But maybe that's just my age.. I's just mindboggling, he's not incompetent, just a plain evil and hypocrite liar.. that video should be shown all over the place.

Yeah, I remember the good ol' days of Kurt Loder and MTV. MTV used to play music, and Kurt Loder was cool. Now? I don't bother to turn to MTV cuz the programming is so horrible, and if the article has a Kurt Loder byline I throw up a little in my mouth.

Sigh.

But, there's always the internets for cool and new, and boy is it ever!!! :oD

Kurt Loder, man.....

Listen, hipster doofus:

"Medical apartheid" is when you have 40 million people shut out of the health care system.

That's the situation in the USA, Kurt, not Cuba.

The USA has the most severe health care rationing among industrialized nations.

(We also have among the highest infant mortality rates, not that you would care.)

Infant mortality rates of industrialized nations.

The Unites States ranks second to last.

I have to pimp my fellow Ohio blogger Jerid Kurtz of Buckeye State Blog. He asked Romney about that sign and he was totally flustered. Claimed he didn't pay any attention, that people ask him to hold signs up all the time. Whatever.

Thanks for the shout out, Bill.

That Loder article is just another example of the never-ending parade of the media mendacity that I try to expose at News Corpse, the Internet's Chronicle of Media Decay.

I am working on an article now (that will probably be posted today or tomorrow) that is a broad and realistic proposal for an initiative to finally dispense with Fox News (That's not too ambitious, is it?) Working title: Starve the Beast!

btw, I checked out your site for the first time and I'm hooked. Great writing, and humorous insight. And the best headline I've read all year: Rudy Giuliani: “Twin Towers only fell because I couldn’t hold them any longer”

Keep up the good work.

I have a theory.

Because of all the help the Bush administration has given the al Qaeda, from invading Iraq while neglecting Afghanistan to sapping the strength of the U.S. military, I suspect that all the trolls are actually some al Qaeda guy sitting at an internet cafe table somewhere in the Middle East, attacking anyone who would dare question or challenge their "best buds" in the Bush administration.

It's just a working theory, but it does explain so much.

Of course, I could be wrong, and the trolls are just extremely stupid people, or possibly a paid Republican internet assassin logging onto pro-American, anti-Bush websites to spew their Republican talking points, in an attempt to further subvert our democracy.

But I'll stick with my theory that the trolls are really al Qaeda operatives.

Heckuva job, trolls.

Thanks for the link, Bill. I was surprised when I logged in this morning. Really, thanks so much.
