The Colbert Report: Kucinich's Deep Pockets

Stephen Colbert challenged Democratic presidential contender Dennis Kucinich to come on The Colbert Report after a bewildering number of references in news articles and the man himself on what he carries around in his pocket.
Could that final object in his pocket be an endorsement from Colbert?

Judging from the looks of his wife, I'd say he has a rocket in his pocket.
Re: The green tea bag:
OMG! He's my mom!! :D
and dad... and aunt... etc... etc...
He reminded me of my great grandparents in that they had survived the Great Depression and they threw nothing away! He obviously lived through great financial troubles, (saving tea bags!) maybe we could use a guy like him in the WH. Of Course Cal Coolidge was a skinflint, how did he do in office?
Elizabeth is pretty cute. :)
I am waiting for the inevitable comments about "the hot wife". Does anyone think democratic voters (majority female) are going to be persuaded to vote for a candidate based on the physical attributes of his/her spouse? I sincerely hope not. What is the difference between voting for a candidate because they seem like a great guy to have a beer with, and voting for a candidate because they have a "hot wife"? Each of the democratic canditates have positions and voting records that are available for debate. We need to get past the superficial assessments.
This is why I love Kucinich. He is ballsy. He has put up w/ the short shit all his life and never let it deter him ( or stop him from getting the girl!) Go Dennis!!
Anybody know where I can get a pocket Rosetta Stone?
That was great! Thanks for posting it. :) Kucinich was really good.
psa23dg @ 5:
As a female, I will say I am going to vote for Dennis because he has shown over and over with his voting record that he isn't all talk and will actually vote the way he says he will. He has been against the war since the beginning, he voted no to the authorization, etc. He is genuine when he speaks, he doesn't triangulate. So, no, his wife is not a factor. Except maybe the fact that when she speaks, she is very intelligent and thoughtful.
OMg - she's beautiful. I can't get over it every time I see her. And I'm gay.
LOL! Be ready for it! Now, if Colbert *doesn't* endorse Moonbeam McCrazypants, no good liberal will be allowed to like him.
Leftier-than-thou people are hilarious.
That was the best pull-things-from-your-pockets routine since Harpo Marx. I especially liked how Colbert was especially impressed with the shiny rock.
TlalocW
psa23dg @ 5:
Waiting? I thought I covered that in the first comment.
No. He's just glad to see her.
At least Elizabeth Kucinich is easy on the eyes, and I'm a het female.
Fred Thompson's "daughter", er, wife, looks like the plastic surgeons are lining up to solicit her business...:-)
psa23dg @ 5:
I'll apologize in advance. I can't help but notice redheaded women.
This was as good as Kooch gets, and he was really good that night.
For those who want to see it again (and again! And again!!) check out:
http://www.dennis4president.org
#5 - I don't know if you want to hear this, psa23dg, but Liz isn't just smokin' hot, she wears a stud in her tongue.
Accessorized hotness.
I'll be impressed when Elizabeth joins a street repair crew to fill potholes with a shovel in the streets for two weeks in 98% heat to set an example of what America should be focusing on. Among other things.
Can you see Colbert running down the street on a garbage crew flinging bags yelling "come on guys someone has to do this! It's a great career!"
LOL!
Colbert: "Did you shrink this down yourself?"
Kucinich: "No, George Bush already did"
He is definitely smart, and she is definitely beautiful (smart too?).
They MUST reproduce!!!!
They owe it to humanity!!
Endorsement seems unlikely since SC announced his own candidacy last night. He is running for president - but only in South Carolina.
Kucinich's wife is hot...but what the hell does she have to do with this topic?
Rusty Shackleford @ 13:
I seconded your opinion in my comment at the 4th position.
*snicker*

So when I say cancel NAFTA, what I mean is that we go to Mexico and renegotiate a trade agreement. And what are the principles of that trade agreement? That all workers will have the right to organize, the right to collective bargaining, the right to strike, the right to decent wages and benefits, the right to a secure retirement, the right to a safe workplace. It will mean prohibitions on child labor, slave labor, and prison labor. It will mean that the air and the water are protected. It is time to have a President of the United States who will stand up for workers, who will stand up for immigrants, who will stand up for working immigrants, who will stand up for those who have documents, who will stand up for those who don’t have documents, who will stand up for human beings. We must realize that there is no such thing as an illegal human being. We need a President who will stand up for the people!
- Dennis Kucinich addressing the Latino Comgresso
And here’s the link to the entire speech: http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/27692
More from Dennis Kucinich, next year's Nobel Prize Winner, addressing the Lation Congresso...
…Now the people in the Administration of George Bush better remember their Miranda rights, because when I’m elected President I’m going to see that they are arrested. I’m not kidding here! I want to let you to know something; how I feel about what’s happened to our country. We have been led into a war based upon lies — an unjust a war. We’ve seen our civil liberties taken away because of lies. The President, the Vice President, the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense are all part of this. They’re going to be held accountable under the law. If someone runs a traffic light, they’ll get a ticket here. There are a million dead Iraqis and almost 4,000 dead American soldiers as a result of this war. Where is the accountability?
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/27692
Kucinich's wife is lovely. So what! He's the real deal and just 'cause he's short and not very handsome he's not taken seriously. I, for one, would prefer smarts and straightforwardness to slick/handsome/smarmy any day. I'd vote for Dennis in a heartbeat. Why do we always focus on the things that matter not a wit and ignore the genuine?!?
psa23dg @ 5:
YIKES...
His wife IS hot
Hillary's HUSBAND is hot
Hot is hot
But I sincerely doubt ANYONE is using that as any kind of voting criteria
You seem to be a wee bit to HOT under the collar
Exactly. The fact that his wife is a knockout has nothing to do with my admiration for the man's integrity and policy ideas.
"Oh...here's a shiny rock that I found."
Is that the Capitol Records building behind them in the photo...? was this photo taken at Jack's Sugar Shack?
Cool
sherifffruitfly @ 11:
Too late wingnut, he already did. Right there, in the clip.
[Deleted. No need to attack the messenger-Sitemonitor]
Joshdavis @ 10:
Well, that's not surprising..she does have that kind of T-girl thing goin on.
Perhaps the only consolation for not Impeaching the criminals in the White House, would be a Kucinich Presidency. But why not both?
Go Dennis! I prefer voting with "both hands" for someone I support, rather than using one hand to "hold my nose," while voting for whom the corporations support.
lumberjack @ 21:
Waht is wrong with America's comprehension skills!?
He DID endorse Dennis, right at the end as a pocket Elf.
Was that not an endorsement?
He DID say to vote for Dennis.
Blaed @ 22:
We need to talk about how her being hot, shouldn't determine whether we should vote for the very deserving Dennis Kucinich.
We hetero men need a lot of reminding.
Call him a nerd of whatever but he's go the hottest girl in town.
Top that.
What an awesome guy Dennis is. He is the only one who is really for the people of this country. The rest would keep the power and try to add to it.
These guys are taking a poll, head on over and give him a vote. http://democracyforamerica.com/pulsepoll
Let them all know we want Dennis and that the polls others take are rigged. I know of NOBODY who likes Hillary yet she is always showing a lead on the other polls.
Weaseldog @ 36:
And spanking
What a difference! I vote Kucinich. Lets put a human being in the white house!
She's hot. He's cool. Kucinich for President!
That was awesome. Kucinich/Colbert in 2008!!!
Sorry, as much as I agree with Kucinich on most of the issues, I could never vote for a guy who feels he has to marry someone who could be his daughter. Just because he is a good liberal Democrat doesn't mean I can overlook his need to stroke his manhood by nailing a trophy wife. I'm sure you're all creeped out by Fred Thompson's grandchild bride.
You folks are going to jump right down my throat, but i'll say it anyway...
I would love to see an independent ticket of Kucinich/Paul, if only because they appear to be the only rational people running for president. Neither will get their respective nominations because they are rational. We have already seen that the office of VP is now serious business, and i wonder what two people from the two ends of the political spectrum might be able to accomplish together. On the biggest of issues, foreign policy, they agree pretty much 100% and they are both serious about the Constitution.
But the nut is that they both have real grassroots support, which carries with it the ability to pull members of both parties that are rational away from their respective parties. Put these two together, as a TEAM, and they would have the very real possibility of putting a serious whipping on the major parties...and actually representing the will of the people in Washington.
No, i'm not a Paul supporter...but he has some good points. We need real change, and the only candidates who walk and talk real change will be weeded out by their parties as early as possible. I think that my fantasy ticket might also show average Americans that we can work together if we're willing to.
Go ahead, call me a traitor...or whatever you want.
amgriffin @ 40:
Agree, my friend. This man has great qualities that this country desperately needs. He can bring all brothers and sisters together. I'm not afraid to vote with my heart. People don't let the media nor politicians tell YOU who is electable or not, that's the right wings job.
The only thing I'll add is::
KUCINICH/FEINGOLD '08
War is over if you want it...
Joshdavis @ 10:
Yes she is beautiful, and I am also gay. On top of her beauty, she is elegant and eloquent. I love to listen to her speak.
EJG @ 38:
It says that DK is #1. Funny how that happens yet his name isn't on the radar when the msm tells you who is in the lead.
I wrote in Feingold as my second choice but couldn't come up with a third choice.
Bruce @ 43:
If I were single... Let's start with that.
And a younger, hot red headed women with a sharp intellect and a great sense of humor came after me, well...
And this isn't Saudi Arabia. If she didn't want to marry him, she didn't have to.
Conan @ 45:
Exactly. I get so disgusted that so many are buying the msm bullshit that Kucinich can't win. WHEN have they told the truth in the last 6 years? Dammit. They sold bush. They sold an illegal and immoral war. Now they are selling Hillary. I'm not buying.
Other than John Edwards and Dennis K., which of the other Dem candidates have been
on the Colbert show? Two things for certain, Dennis is articulant and smart and has
a great sense of humor. He is receiving my serious consideration.
Elizabeth Kucinich has a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Theology and a Master's degree in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent.
In my book, that's hot. I think they love each other's brains. That is also hot.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Jeri Thompson love each other, too, I'm sure. But I doubt brains have much to do wit' it.
Just saying.
sherifffruitfly @ 11:
You call someone Moonbeam McCrazypants and yet make a completely nonsensical comment yourself.
Take your meds, buddy.
Max Power @ 53:
He can't afford them; no health insurance.
Peace @ 25:
One of the biggest disappointments I had with Clinton was that NAFTA had such poor human rights practices.
Blue Gal @ 52:
you forgot the part where elizabeth work in a mother teresa clinic for six months and in tanzaria among orphanage of the poorest.
Tom Smith @ 47:
Ok.. Its unanimous!!! (kinda) Gay progessives find Mrs. K Beeeeutiful!! Next stop, Everard.
JJohnson @ 54:
ZIIIIIIING!
first i'd like to state that i am not now nor have i ever been gay, but that mrs. k. is quite a babe :)
GO KUCINICH!!!!!
KUCINICH/GORE
or
GORE/KUCINICH!!!
revko @ 28:
If your assessment is correct then please explaing the repeated comment: "He sure looked presidential tonight."
WTF!?
Did anyone notice Elizabeth Kucinich is hot?
Thanks Nicole for posting this!
Dennis was absolutely brilliant! Not afraid to poke fun at himself, yet was still able to get in a few zingers himself - the Constitution/Bush joke, the shiny rock (talk about absurdly genius!) and Obama's flag lapel pin. Hilarious!
Kucinich 2008
That was great! I'm really hoping Kucinich gets the "Colbert Bump."
Oh, and his wife is very hot.
bob @ 3:
Finally, a human being running for the office of president. Kucinich not only has a great "platform" going in, he has a great sense of humor. He deserves a close look, as a refreshing departure from the rest of the DC-based primary field. Good job Colbert...
Go Colbert !
http://the1opinion.blogspot.com/2007/10/stephen-colbert-running-for-pres...
Holy crap, I think his wife should run for President instead.
Bruce @ 43:
You obviously don't know the story on how they met. She came to interview him, she asked some questions about peace and justice and Dennis not only gave her an earful but all the information he had on his proposal for "The Department of Peace." SHE became fascinated with HIM, and SHE pursued HIM.. They dated and eventually married. She is no trophy wife. He loves her and she loves him. Period.
She definately went for brains over braun. And great things do come in small packages.
Kucinich was humanized before this chick - and she's increased that, plus, she's not a stepford wife like Jeri Thompson is. She and Dennis chose wisely, well, and even if he doesn't get the White House, she will be a good wife for him, nonetheless. If she was an opportunist, she'd go after a John Edwards-type if the guy were single. She hitched her wagon to Dennis.
And yeah, while we should be paying attention to where candidates stand on the issues, I need to remind people that Bill Clinton almost didn't get taken seriously when he arrived on the scene back in 1992 because Hillary was a career woman, and not considered "First Lady" material. So, don't say his wife shouldn't matter because the ReThugs went out of their way to point out how unsuitable Hillary was. How a candidate chose his spouse kinda of indicates what he considers important, and if you're running for President, you're still expected to keep your home and personal life together while running the country.
#69-Herby
Well said.
Reply to : psa23dg
Because if that little guy can talk her into bed, then he can talk the nukes off N. Korea.
Dennis and Elizabeth will always be the first family to me
Herby @ 69:
psa23dg @ 74:
How do you know if Dennis Kucinich and his wife love each other? Have they revealed their feelings for each other to you? Why does it matter? How does the ruminations about his marriage add to the discussion of whether he is a good candidate for the next President of the United States?
The entire Democratic field has a tremendous asset that the Republicans can't touch. All the women are sharp as tacks.
Not to mention the obvious.
Bruce @ 43:
To not vote for someone who would do this country good just because you don't like the fact that he has a young wife is insane! Just as bad as those who voted FOR Bush because they would like to have a beer with him. It is BS, his private life is his own business. We need to look at what he does with his public life and how he has voted on the issues that concern us, not the age of his wife. Stop being so judgmental and look at what he represents or we will have another incompetent ass in the white house next term.
Oh yea, Kucinich....ummm...finding it hard to concentrate here...
Ummmmm...never realized the K-Man was so charming, handsome, or whatever to get a woman as attractive as Elizabeth to marry him. This gives me some hope!!!!!
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
I'm so bad. :-D
[Yes, you are.]
Chuck Adkins @ 80:
[Deleted post. You don't have to post a crude comment to blogwhore, Chuck-Sitemonitor]
I'm so bad. :-D
Ooops! Wrong URL.
sherifffruitfly @ 11:
The interesting thing about people who are Left of You is that we don't endorse a candidate because we're told to. We choose based on information and our beliefs. That's why Kucinich leads polls, and News Organs tell us Hilly is our only chance.
Another example of projection brought to you by the GOP. Thanks sheriff, but the MSM spreads your authoritarian meme much better than you do. To quote from a song by a band named after people like you ( Tool ):
"Choices always were a problem for you. Just do everything I tell you to do. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow, what you need is someone strong to guide you...like me."
Amazing how that sums up the GOP message isn't it?
Jimmi the Grey @ 82:
So true! Great quote. I love Tool.
KUCINICH4President2008!!
When I look at the Democratic field of candidates, I am drawn only to Kucinich and Edwards and, of course, I am told over and over than neither can win. When I think of the perfect candidate for this particular time and the horrific condition that Lil Lord Pissypants has put our country in I can see only Al Gore but I'm told over and over again that he will not run. Maybe those telling me that are in for a surprise and we will have a Gore/Kucinich Administration with an Edwards Justice Department. A girl can dream, right?
How does that little space alien get hotter tail than I do?
"Could that final object in his pocket be an endorsement from Colbert?"
uh no.
dennis kucinich has my vote, hes going to get my donation, no others worth my time going to the polls for, hillerys bush with a dress on , the rest are useless corporation whores to,
well bigus your problem getting the chicks proably is you cant lick your eye brows with your tounge! dennis my man can!
This was really a classic Colbert...it was wonderful
Bruce @ 43:
You're uninformed and ignorant. She's not an empty-headed doll like trophy wives are; she was a political activist when she met Kucinich.
psa23dg @ 75:
Did you even read the comment Herby was replying to? Bruce said, despite his agreement on the issues with Kucinich, he won't vote for him because he has a young "trophy wife".
Bruce @ 43:
You're crazy. I am not creeped out by Thompson's bride. She's not my type (blonde and boob-heavy doesn't really do it for me), but I would never give someone static for their choice in mates by way of age. My ex-wife was 14 years older than I. I was 27, looked 35. she was 41 and looked 35. By the time we found out how old each other was, we'd already been sleeping together for months. What? I supposed to dump someone because they're older? We broke up for reasons that had nothing to do with age (she drank like a fish). Now, I am in my late 40s and I met a lovely girl in her late 20s. I don't know if this will lead to a "happy ever after" but we're seeing where it goes for now. This is bad because, why? so, if Kucinich has the vim and vigour to keep a young bride "happy", I say, bless his little heart.
Frankly, if I were single and met Elizabeth K when she was single and she found me worthy, and I found her equally wonderful, why Shouldn't that happen?
People like Bruce are uptight insecure dopes who don't want people to have fun. I've had older, I've had younger, and frankly, they both have their benefits and attractions. what matters is the content of the person's mind and heart. If it works it works. Age has NOTHING to do with it.
Mrs. K is quite attractive. I hope she's not hot as that could mean the flu.
I won't vote for him for having a tea bag in his pocket, but I will vote for him if I get to tea bag his hot (and soon to be disillusioned) wife...
Green Tea, Brown Rice, and a copy of the tao teh ching.
After Dennis Kucinich was smeared by the Ohio power company interests for 'corruption' (...and he WAS vindicated), he took a break and hung out in Southern California with some 'higher-minded' cosmic people... A very cool dude, with just what the presidential 'job' needs at this juncture in history. Righteous indignation at the corruption that U.S. federal governance and socio-political policy has become domestically, and worldwide.
Make that: Green Tea, Brown Rice, a copy of the tao teh ching, and almost NO campaign funding from corporations.
He's the MAN...
The ONE CHOICE for AMERICA, All the other candidates are the SAME old SAME OLD.
Vote for TRUTH, Vote for TRUE CHANGE.
Kucinich for President
Don't forget to VOTE 2008
THATS Dennis Kucinich's wife!!!! Whoa!!! Maybe I'm blind but I don't think so... She's totally a hottie!!! Dang, I have even more respect for him now.... Probably ought to apply the same standard to Ol Prunefaced Fred.. But he's such a phony in every other way, having a trophy wife really doesn't help either one him or the wifey...
Thompsons wife due to Freds actions end up looking like some golddigger cashing in ala Anna whatsername who died last year..
However given the way Kucinich comports himself, his wife just ends up looking smart and open minded enough to hook up with an intelligent older gentlemen... It's all in the context of observing the mens behavior......Denny has class, Fred... Well Fred has a Hollywood rep....class? Umm not so much....JD
War4Sale @ 42:
I'd buy that for a dollar~!
Anti-Gay Church Says Thompson Agreed Link
from AP Top Political News At 1:35 pm EDT by By ERIK SCHELZIG
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Members of the anti-gay Westboro Baptist
Church are urging Fred Thompson to support their stance on
homosexuality - a position on which they say the Republican
presidential candidate once "saw eye to eye" with them....
HERE
...at least they aren't mentioning the usual lie that his organization
is related in any way to the antiwar movement.
sherifffruitfly @ 11:
lol... there it is... the quintessential reichtoid vilification... can't be a good rethug without it... it's nice for the rest of us though, to be able to watch our ancestors still roaming around free to this day... ;-)
btw... Kucinich did a great job playing along... possibly as memorable a moment as when Clinton played sax on SNL...
Dennis is a good sport, and I have no doubt that a Kucinich Presidency would truly be a signal to the world that the U.S is ready to re-enter the 21st century. He gets my vote. Now, as for his wife, well, she's smart, a redhead, and British - she reminds me of Mrs Peel from "The Avengers" - way to go, Denny!
The Buffalo In Da' Midst @ 99:
Only Frederick of Hollywood would be stupid enough to accept an endorsement from that bunch of inbred freaks. Thompson should just quit now; his campaign's going nowhere.
Dennis Kucinich is pretty damn cool. a Kucinich/paul ticket would be awesome. that said, he did vote against the SCHIP bill. he is voting to override the veto, but still very, very disappointing regardless of his reasoning. the bill did not provide for immigrant coverage, which struck me as, basically, i won't help any children if i can't help all the children. noble enough, but sometimes compromise is best or you might end up voting alongside the likes of Bush and his cohort.
i still like him, i just notice that noone has really mentioned this.
Now there's a guy I would like to have a beer with (or spring water if he doesn't drink) but he seems like the most normal of the bunch.
moses @ 104:
I like the idea of a Kucinich/Richardson ticket.
I respect Mr. Kucinich and I am proud to be voting for him.
I don't think I've ever seen a politician on a talk show more in tune and in on the joke than Kucinich is here.
Jumpy @ 108:
that's becuase Dennis wasn't the joke, usually the guest is the joke...remember Bill'O-job's appearance on the Report? he knew there was a joke in there somewhere but he wasn't sure what it was...it was him that's why he couldn't see it. Kucinich gets it so if the joke was on him he would have known that too.
"Other than John Edwards and Dennis K., which of the other Dem candidates have been
on the Colbert show? Two things for certain, Dennis is articulant and smart and has
a great sense of humor. He is receiving my serious consideration."
Mike Gravel was on the program. The video might still be out there on one of the tubes.
I would like to see him as the Democratic candiadate, but by the time Oregon has its primary the decision will already be made for us.
Thanks a lot DNC. Jerks!
The best thing that could happen to America is to elect Kucinich.
Peoples Front of Judea @ 61:
Huh?
Who ever said "He sure looked presidential tonight"?
I thought most were saying that his wife looks hot
and she has brains!!! That's double hot.
WTF is wrong with being married to someone who's smart AND hot?
YIKES
good on ya Dennis....the more time that goes by,the more viable he becomes. As or his wife..she'd make a FINE looking first lady.
while (some) people can scream over a lapel pin about a symbol of one's patriotism, Kucinich embodies it with his pocket constitution...
Elizabeth to Dennis: Is that a Constitution in your pocket or ...
Guess the rest.
I hope Dennis doesnt get smacked around by Elizabeth, she's like, a full head taller then he is.
revko @ 113:
Sorry. I wasn't quoting anyone on this thread. I have, however, heard this from talking heads in the past. Repeatedly. And it makes my head hurt each time.
About his wife.. well I would not blame it on him. Probably tells us more about her but as long as they are happy, who cares.
One thing is for sure though. If he becomes president, he sure as heck won't be getting blown by some intern.
But back to topic.
He sounds like a cool guy. Anyone willing to make fun of himself on tv is cool in my book.
And I mean fun in a good way, not making fun of dead people like Bush.
Someone mentioned a Kucinich/Paul independent ticket. I honestly think that just might work. Paul is very good but many of his ideas are just garbage and thus is probably the reason no one would vote for him.
But these two guys can probably do the best work together.
Not to mention they are straight talkers. No BS, nothing.
We need people like this.
We do not need more people kissing our butts.
These guys have to be leaders, not buddies.
Not insurance salesmen who will promise you the world if you buy their insurance.
The person that stands on those platforms today should be the same person in the WH.
If I want someone I can have lunch with, I will take my friends.
But would I want them to run the government? Probably not.
Most people forget that many politicians have left their conscience at the door when they become politicians. They had to turn into beasts willing to connive, lie and back-stab their way to the top.
Only a fool will think they will actually change their ways once there.
Dennis is intelligent & of course would be a terrific
president. That said he has no chance of winning the
nomination so lets concentrate on the three Democrats
who have a chance. Any Democrat will be better than
another Republican. So sorry Dennis & all the other fringe
candidates. You're out.
Note to message #120 (Mike):
The 2008 Presidential election will decided in the Democratic primaries not in November. Money will not decide who will be the next President of the United States, it has not in decades. Just because the propaganda arm of the Republican Party (MSM) "says" HOE are the only Democratic candidates with significant support, doesn't mean that is fact. Expect
significant surprises this primary cycle fueled by universal discontent with not only the War in Iraq, but domestic job growth, lack of affordable health care, defaulting home mortgages, ridiculous gas prices, crumbling infra-structure, corporate welfare/corruption, wage inequities, shrinking middle-class and the awful reputation the U.S.A has in the global community.
The reality felt by the average citizen contrasts sharply with the glossed-over propaganda spewed by the corporate elite via the MSM. The votes in the primaries will be shockers to the establishment candidates.
If one is to believe this Constitution will survive and the country to grow, the people will have to correct the errors of the past - the have done so in the past and with grave certainty will do so in 2008. Look at 2006 as the beginning of the correction phase. The establishment has not completely understood that their time on the "top of the hill" is coming to an end.
The process of correction is not direct or exact, but be assured it has started. Vote for the best candidate who can facilitate the process - not one who will obstruct the process.
For those who truly care about country we live in, the people we call our neighbors, the environment we pass on to our children, the people who share this planet with us, there are few choices available. Yet, one of those choices is exactly what is required to insure that the correction process can work.
Events shape man as much as man shapes events. Events have created a need for significant and expedited change in the direction this country has perilously followed since 1980. Vote in the primaries for candidate that events have created the need for - Dennis Kucinich.
Be part of the solution or stay part of the problem.
Mike @ 120:
Dennis has a greater chance of winning than your top tier candidates effecting any change. Dennis can win if only most progressive will stop listening to pundits who says he has no chance of winning. The media including supposedly progressive talk show host who are promoting the idea that any Democrat elected as President will effect the changes we need. I do not believe that is true. The fact is that the Democrats won in 2006 but up to now they have not done anything.
here's a thought... Gore, Kucinich, Paul and Bloomberg launch a third national party to offset the negative effects of a currently polarizing and divisive two party system...
