Last night's bronze honors go to the right wingnut site, RedState, for their delusional recall of the post-Democratic Debate commentary. The silver goes to Glenn Beck for his delusional rant on the breakdown of American society sparked by the movie, GI Joe. And finally, the gold goes to Roger Ailes, for his delusional attempt to bolster his floundering Fox Business Network with carefully edited and out of context quotes.

Look forward next week for wingnutia to cite these rave reviews to highlight Faux's credibility. Another instance of repeating the lie often and loud enough that it magically becomes "fact".
G. Beck just went nuts the other day about how dependent on oil the U.S. is...I'm sure he's a big fan of Al Gore, right?

They'd be a good conservative blog site if half of their regular bloggers would leave. There's some decent people there but one of the main mods there (Moe) is pretty much mentally stillborn and bans anyone who expresses contrary opinions (that aren't sugarcoated with enough asskissing). He has this really weird, sad gimmick where he asks for a 2000 word history paper for people to be permitted back, when the guy himself has demonstrated he learned his history from the back of a cereal box.

Since everything on the FOX network is a continuous lie I wondered what idiot would trust any financial news/opinions from them. Apparently very few buy the crap when it hits the purse.
Maybe FOX should change the name of their "business" network to "The Half Hour Business Hour"
My god, that really is stunning. I hesitate to even call people like Roger Ailes liars. They're something else... something more fundamentally removed from reality. They simply don't have any regard for the facts whatsoever.
A liar at least acknowledges objective reality-- they just want to cover it up. People like Ailes seem to regard the whole world as one big spin zone, where "reality" is whatever you want it to be.
"Now change it back!" That is funny- FOX should put that on The Half our Comedy Hour!
every picture i've ever seen of roger ailes looks the same... the poor man looks like he's dying! fat, puffy, probably flatulent, you won't see him on the cover of "men's health and fitness". what's his illness?

I saw GB go off on movies the other night. He needs to realize that Hollywood makes films for a global audience who isn't obligated to accept his definition of American hegemony.

I was flipping channels and happened to stop on blecck for about 30 seconds. He was talking about how GI Joe was his hero as a kid and that's when I changed the station. If GI Joe was such a role model, why has he not been in the service? Just another rethug chickenhawk. Yep, tomorrow I start calling sponsors. Anyone got a list?

That was excellent even compared to Olbermann's usual excellence. His commentary on the Faux Business Network fully captured Ailes 180 degree reality spin, and the Red State and Glenn Beck pieces were just a short distance behind.

Murdoch wants to be taken seriously, but he's fast turning both the WSJ and Barron's into clones of the unbelievably silly (and never profitable since it was founded in 1984) Investor's Business Daily. The market can't support one right-wing fake-business publication, and now Murdoch's essentially bringing two more into it, plus a bogus TV network. His monumental hubris may finally be biting him in his fascist ass.
I Kid You Not- I live in a small town 75 miles north of Manhattan, in the "low-rent neighborhood" so to speak. There are a lot of really wealthy people up in the Hudson Hills...I'm going through the checkout line in my local supermarket this saturday morning, and there's this guy in the next register line, with a kid, maybe 10, 12 years old. It was Roger Ailes, with his grandson or his son. I can't begin to describe the thought process I went through in those few seconds of recognition. If that kid wasn't with him, I think I would have spit in his face or started bellowing at him. You can see the guilt- the Faustian Bargain- in his face. He knows what he is doing, he knows it is evil, and he can't turn away from the millions it has made him. He is bullshit incarnate.
Roger Ailes is an obese pig and a liar too. Fox Noise is a joke. Anyone who watches it is a fool.
Yes, the neo-cons and their legions of supporters are the reborn and more virulent KKK. Since the klan went underground some years ago, they have regrouped and have been energized by the money and power of monsters like Murdoch and people of his ilk. These people see no future, and have a vision of destroying the entire human species in the misguided, insane belief that their savior will return in the nick of time to rapture them up out of the maelstrom they themselves have initiated. In short, they are INSANE! They are also threatening the future of all humankind. Look what they have brought upon our country, once the beacon of sanity and hope. Look what they have done to our working people with their outsourcing of work to other parts of the world. Look at what they have done to the economy with their thievery an potential enslavement of millions suckered into the debt whirlpool, from which very few will ever recover from. Look at what they have brought us to, torturing prisoners is accepted by our government. We are on the bring of something very dangerous and we have been traveling this road for more than 20 years. Since the arrival of Reagan the course against America has been set, and barring minor set-backs like the blip of Clinton, they have had us on the road to mediocrity and ultimately reduction to yet another great depression. We need to act to save ourselves and our children. We need to do everything in our power to counter these evil spawn of Satan before they doom us.
