hi john, big fan of the site here. i know it's not related to this post but you guys need to drop the "crooksandliars.com" tags on the videos. it's LAME. everyone who watches videos on/from your site knows where they came from. the tag is simply in the way and much too obtrusive.

Oh Raygun, how do I hate thee...let me count the ways. I love the "can't break a commitment" reference. Sure, this righteous outrage from the man who swore we don't negotiate with kidnappers, the negotiated with kidnappers, the apologized (sort of). What a POS that POTUS was. And WTF was the deal about sending the wrong message if they went to the Urban League first? What, they didn't want to offend the racists in Miss.?

I said Reagan was destroying the country when he was running it, and when Clinton didn't roll back his fetid corruptions I knew it would just be a matter of time until another true believer stepped in and finished up the foul work.
And here we are, and to my great sorrow I have been vindicated.

Blogistan should challenge to long pants media to dispute or refute the factual arguments that expose Reagan as little more than a simplistic parade balloon over a stingy sociopath determined to persecute those "enemies" it tried to impede from accessing their inalienable human rights.

Indeed, he did, and from what I dimly recall seeing on TV, he was nearly lynched.
Speaking before a crowd of agitated (and apparently not carefully screened) black folks, the Gipper, angry at their impertinent questions, nearly lost it and had to be hustled away by his "handlers."
Maybe someone else out there has a clearer memory of events, but I though, then, that the Gipper had at long last gone 'round the bend.
The only thing I would change in the DriftGlass post is that Brooks is the Miss Emily of the piece, joyfully being fucked by the rotting corpse of the Gipper illusion, saviour and spiritual father of the right wing. Remebering a fantasy love affair of long ago. And what a fraud Reagan was! Reading a script good, extempraneous, worse than William Shatner. A hollow form filled with other people's words.
I would truly love to see Reagan's legacy debunked and ripped to shreds. I love the way conservatives try to re-write history. The crap we're enduring now started with Reagan, truly the most overrated president in the history of this country.

That was mighty nice of you to give Mr. D. Glass a well-deserved compliment and throw some traffic his way. He's been doing that same kind of powerfully literate and thoroughly outraged commentary for quite a while now...and made me a regular reader in the process.

I don't think the tag is "in the way". Just skip the tag if it annoys you that much. I don't think "everyone" knows where they came from, since they get passed around without being linked to this site (YouTube, etc). But you know what they say about opinions.
