The 7-minute short film was written and directed by Segundo de Chomón. From IMDB: "Proving adept at every possible camera trick, Segundo de Chomón was brought by Charles Pathé to his studio at Vincennes, near Paris, to make trick films in imitation of Jules Verne (such as this one, inspired by A Trip to the Moon (1902))."
