Bill O'Reilly brings in Dennis Miller to talk about the apparently rampant problem of 11-year-old girls taking pictures of themselves in states of undress and sending them to their boyfriends. Funny enough, I could only find one such example of said problem in the news, so I have to wonder what exactly O'Reilly's motivation was in bringing it up. Not to discount this particular case (because, as a mother, I hope I'm raising my children to have more self-respect than to do things like that, especially at such a young age), but it hardly seems like an epidemic for which to condemn modern parenting skills, as Billo tries to do here. Even Dennis Miller can't take it that seriously.
I think the funniest part is when Bill scoffs at the notion of "talking" to your child who is exhibiting inappropriate behaviors and demands that Dennis say how his father would handle it if Dennis had sent out photos of his naked 11 year old self (enough to make you gag, I know) and you can see Dennis physically stop himself from saying "He would have talked to me..." and you can see the mental cogs whirring to come up with an O'Reilly-approved punishment.

apparently you've never really been around the internet. there are huge website devoted to posting "jail bait" nudity all over the internet. a favorite pastime on these sites is hacking a girl's myspace or photobucket accounts and stealing any nude or racy pictures. hundreds of girls lives have been hurt by this. i could show you the sites, but i probably can't post it here.

Why is it, that I get the feeling that Billo brought this issue up because he possesses a lot of this pornographic material himself involving underage kids and saw a trend in it at some point. Only people in pedophile rings or divisions of law enforcement that are tracking down those said rings would have any knowledge about this and I doubt law enforcement would tell Bill about it.

Perhaps thats the major difference between someone of O'Reilly's ilk, and critical thinkers. Bill believes that an ass should be kicked, whereas a critical thinker would try to explain why what we do defines who we are. This could explain why so many repubs or conservatives act the way they do. If you challenge their ideas, you should be beaten down, just as they learned from their parents. I happen to think that dialog rules. Talking to those who disagree with you can 1) resolve the disagreement 2) Give you insight into the motivation of your adversary, or 3) Determine who (which side of the dialog) has more merit.
That approach differs from the current of de-humanizing those who dis agree with you, as well as stating that compromise is a sign of weakness. I am so tired of the dissemination of simpleton black and white points. It is an insult to the intelligence of the voting public.
I am a registered independent, but an currently thinking of supporting Kucinich or Edwards. They are the only 2 candidates who at least seem to have the least inclination to support the status quo regarding corporate dominance in all aspects on media and govt processes.
I hope whoever wins will look at the "end around tactics" that have been employed to subvert our Constitution, and put in place safeguards which will ensure that the 3 branches of govt return to co equal status, as was intended by our Founding Fathers.

I'll never forget that awful year when the geniuses at ABC decided to put that goof Miller in the booth as a color broadcaster for Monday Night Football. He was brutal. Miller kept interrupting the flow of the game with irrelevant remarks that only served as a distraction. He was like a brother in law who didn't know or like sports yet would never stop yapping;during the best moments of the game.

Maybe the police, and everyone else involved in making a big stink around such a case which victimizes a young person who just now is starting to experience their own sexuality. Maybe some things should be LEFT for the parents to determine what is right or wrong. Well said. For the most part the police should be involved when issues of consent (or lack thereof) come up. In spirit, the predator laws are meant to stop older people taking advantage of a child's naivete. In this case, the child's consent is difficult to determine because they may be more easily fooled into doing something they do not want to do. However, two innocent kids (of equal mental age) exploring their perfectly normal sexual development should be a matter left up to the parents. But the distinction is lost on most people.

He's correct that it starts with the parents, but for Chrissakes, beating the child after they dangerously experiment with their sexuality is not solving anything!!! "Sanctions?" What does he mean by that?
Beating teaches the child how to beat.
Grounding teaches the child how to escape.
Shaming teaches the child to hide what they're doing.
Berating teaches the child to have low self-esteem and do worse things.
Taking luxuries away from the child teaches them how to steal/coerce them back.
The ONLY way to solve this problem is to talk to the child and find out what's going on and why. I don't see why this is such a bad thing.

Hmmm, we have a comedian who is clueless on this show and we have Dennis Miller as the sidekick.

And that's another reason I don't have kids! O'really and Miller, now there's some hard hitting journalism!
Watching a double header of these two morons would ruin the month of December, and Christmas, and leave me despressed for the New Year, so I'll just trust it's horrid and move on.

O'Reilly is trying to lift his ratings.
He's a complete personality disorder unable to connect responsibility for his own actions and words to real life.
He works as a commentator in this day and age because the media is fragmented and distorted. It's a perfect world for an ego maniac / personality disorder mentally distorted type to get rich in.
O'Reilly as well as Rush and Hannity all have the mental diagnosis in common.
They will die without having been treated and thinking they are right and everyone else is either at fault or potentially to blame for the fallout from their own behavior.

What about Ted Gundersons assertions about child abductions being a CIA operation? Talk about that Billo. Talk about the Larry King case of child prostitutes being flown to parties at the White-house when Bush Senior was there. Talk about American children being auctioned off in foriegn countries. A girl sent a picture of herself to her boyfriend? That is laughable compared to the crap that has been going on for years within the political elite. I like Dennis Miller, and Miller's rant was 100% correct. O'Rielly has to step in b/c no one is allowed to have the mic for longer than 10 consectutive seconds before he has to say something. I doing kinky stuff with girls around that age and I turned out ok. I though it was quite natural then (probably not so much), but it was no big deal. I have a healthy life, and I have healthy relations.
I understand parents concerns, but i thinks its much worse to go to the other extreme, were parents are overprotective or censuring. I think god communication with parents and friends is the key here.
I have to say, the pictures ending up on the internet is another issue, but I'm afraid that to confront this one, people are going to loose north.

Dennis Miller has climbed aboard a train that makes its last stop on Christian television. Specifically, Trinity Broadcast Network, where he will probably end up sitting on the sofa next between the Baldwin brother who found Jesus (is it Stephen?) and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Once you've become a shill for the wingnuts, it isn't that much of a stretch to go the whole hog and get born-again religion too. Billy O'Reilly is a heinous human being and Fox "News" is heinous for giving this heinous human being a national audience. O'Reilly does this kind of show to try to make himself look like some kind of savior. He uses these issues to make himself look good. Keep in mind that this is the guy who blamed 10 year old Matthew Hornbeck for his own kidnapping and molestation. O'Reilly is a vomitous mass. You have to have an awful stupid stomach to keep his self-aggrandizing crap down.

Bill can't get Dennis to to say that, " His dad was a child abuser ".
But most interesting is that Both Bill and Dennis state in the vid clip, Quote, " We " (as Bill & Dennis being we), " Are not doing what we should ".
Bill if these parents are wealthy then it is above the law. And coming from a guy that paid a Million dollar settlement to avoid the truthiness of Bill's sexual harassment case. We will probably find out that Bill was cruising for young boys with Mark Foley in the near future.

Sorry, Dennis Miller is on my "no view" list, along with Coulter and Malkin. I'm tolerant, but there are limits. Miller is strikingly unfunny, like all conservatives.

There used to be a guy named Dennis Miller on SNL, he was witty, funny & entertaining.
I think he's dead now or something, pretty sure they found him in a seedy motel room after he OD'd on crack. His estate should sue this robot for stealing his identity.

Hear, hear! Couldn't have said it better. But I would like to add a thought or two. First, considering Fox Noise's policy of using titillating graphics to back up stories about salacious goings-on, I am surprised that Bill-O didn't actually show some of these 11-year-old scantily clad (or even nude) nymphets in the background of the discussion. Also, what's all the fuss about? Luddite that he is, Bill-O would have us living in the pre-PC ages when "playing doctor" meant hands-on touchy feely action in the attic or cellar rather than cell phone camera snaps or online .jpg attachments, but the result is the same. It's a budding adolescent's sexual awakening is all. That must scare Bill-O who is so sexually repressed he has to hit on Fox Noise TV producers in fumbling attempts to have his first sexual experience.
Denny has quite a bit of free time this past decade or so... The man owes his entire current "career" to Fox News. Watch him vanish into a black hole after Bush loses...
