Huckabee Gives Sermon On How To Be Part Of "God's Army" In New Hampshire
By Logan Murphy Monday Jan 07, 2008 11:44amA pastor from Texas was scheduled to deliver the sermon Sunday at a church here called the Crossing. But instead this small evangelical congregation heard from a different special guest: Baptist minister and 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who delivered a sermon of more than 20 minutes on how to be part of "God's Army" in the middle school cafeteria where the congregation meets.
"When we become believers, it's as if we have signed up to be part of God's Army, to be soldiers for Christ," Huckabee told the enthusiastic audience.
Huckabee's campaign did not allow cameras into the church, and the candidate did not make an appeal for votes as part of his sermon. But a church official invited members to attend an event a mile away, where Huckabee held a rally with actor Chuck Norris and where free clam chowder was served. Read on...
UPDATE: (Nicole) As Sara at Orcinus says, it would be irresponsible not to speculate on Huckabee's potential to abuse the separation of Church and State and rely on the needed infrastructure these evangelical groups can bring to his campaign. Pastor Dan has a few ideas to ensure that churches not violate IRS guidelines on getting involved in political campaigning.
And finally, political satirist Max Blumenthal (of the hilarious College Republican Conference and CPAC videos) has put together a Huckabee campaign ad that he'd probably prefer you not see.

hell no!
That man is only fit to lead a summer revival meeting.
Enjoy the collapse of the fundies, thugs. You wanted them, see if they can save you now.
How does that go, "When fascism comes to this country it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross"?
Jesus F*cking Christ, Huckabee scares me.
Huckabee will make herr dubyah look librul if elected. Huckster is dangerous for America, Freedom, and Democracy.
I think McCain is going to get it. The Neocons still have a lot of clout and somewhat control this election and McCains the only useful idiot left.
The pussies in his family don't have the balls just like their daddy , to join the real army .
Speaking of Huckabee's offspring, Here you go:

They like their guns.
I am reminded more and more about Robert Heinlein's Future History stories and his idea that a corporatist theocracy takes over in the US using the ballot box and then, Taliban-like, does away with democratic institutions for 2 generations, requiring a new American Revolution to restore them.
Here's Heinlein's 'Prophet', his 'Nehemiah Scudder', made flesh. God, save me from your followers!
He's not a Soldier for Christ; he's a Stooge for Dimwits.
Religion has no place and no right being in the political process.
I predict he will get nowhere. The voters will send a clear message: Pray all you want, but keep it to yourself (didn't somebody else once say that?...)
Well soon part of being God's army will include giving a concession speech. I look forward to it.
I hate Huckabee. It has a nice Ring to it.
What ever happened to "Thou Shalt Not Kill" ?
One cannot be a real Christian and at the same time, a supporter of murder.
It's one or the other.
Max's video is great. I had read about but hadn't heard about his loathsome "Holocaust" comment.
What's a bit alarming is how frightening all the GOP candidates are, just in slightly different flavors.
It's hard to believe that in 2008 there re STILL zealots for this kinda non-sense... hopefully they will all end up in Utah soon so we can build that wall....
Err, make that, Hadn't heard the actual comment for myself. D'oh!
Old Billy @ 3:
I have never heard that saying. It is great.
Bit NOLA @ 7:
Whoa. Packing a loaded gun in his carry-on? Any truth to the idiom, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?
Even if it was "a mistake"...a loaded gun?
This would be some scary shit if I thought he had a chance.
a GOP prez candidate giving a, media-excluded, sermon to religious fundies, where he calls for christian soldiers? holy. fuck.
generally i think mitt and rudy are 2 of the most dangerous men in america... huckster has just scaled to the top.
While I know it may be bad for on this website I feel it necessary to say that the phrase being a soldier for the lord is common rhetoric in many Baptist churches and does not necessarily imply any call to violence. The phrase is grown from the Old Testament I believe where there are verses calling believers to equip themselves in the armor of the lord to protect them from the world in which they were persecuted.
Pop Quiz:
Which Prophet still revered in this day and age, commanded an Army and led soldiers into battle.
Which ones did not?
They said W's speeches, while seeming innocuous (and meaningless) were full of coded words and messages for the TrueBelievers, this Goofus doesnt even bother doing that ...
Huck is out of his cotton picking mind.
Bush, who also wanted to claim the "God vote" said he had a chat with the big guy and it was thumbs up.
If you think your talking to God and he tells you to kill folks ..... well check the source.
Jesus said, "Many will come and call in my name. By their fruits you will know them." Even the simple minded of the evangelistic will have a hard time justifying the fruits of the Bush administration.
Has Huck called for the impeachment of Bush? Then he approves of what has happened in America in the last seven years?
Whenever, I hear God, Army, and soldiers in the same phrase, I think of guys with snipers aiming at abortion clinics.
And keep your eye on Ed Rollins, his campaign director. He's a fuckin asshole.
Oh hell yes, just what we need another christian asshole running this country. They scare the hell out of me - always have. What a beautiful screwed up family this bastard has to boot. I would be pretty concerned if my son had killed a poor innocent dog and then I had to lie about it to the press to cover his ass. Here we go again another liar, liar pants on fire Republican. Bye Bye Huck-A-Bee we don't need your kind around here...
Story ran last month on C&L if you missed it: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/12/16/huckabee-squashed-charges-again...
StirFry @ 24:
I think of Blackwater.
Why does the most powerful being in the universe need an army?
Chad Stanton @ 20:
i do appreciate the view from the inside of the church. unwashed heathens, such as myself, don't generally know what the common 'language' is, especially in a southern baptist church.
that said, i would slightly disagree with your take on the implications of 'christian soldier'. you said that it, "does not necessarily imply any call to violence." and i would disagree. had you said that it is not an overt call for violence i would agree. but, for me, this is the definition of an implication--"to indicate or suggest without being explicitly stated". not violence for violence sake, but the use of physical force to further the christian doctrine. and that is scary in a country that is supposedly based on the notion of freedom of religion.
i wonder what a southern baptist would say if someone claimed to be a muslim soldier?
Norris's Texas Ranger show has the most acts of violence of any show on tv.
Jack Lewis @ 27:
THAT is a mystery that us lowly mortals cannot comprehend.
Google "vertical thought" if you want to know more about Huckee's dog whistle call to the Pat Robertson crowd.
for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
—Matthew 26:52
Here comes Huckleberry and his Crusaders yelling and screaming; "If you don't believe in my god and vote for me, I will have my army of devout christians cut your fuckin heads off."
God's name is Oliver?
his name is huck.
huck huckabee.
and he's a jesus man.
Is this what we want leading the country? Hell no. I don't particularly care for a leader of the free world who thinks the entire world is corrupt and it must be "cleansed"
below_me @ 1:
Don't ya mean heil no!
I thought God's army was the angels.
My guess is the Archangel Michael was busted down to private.
Jack Lewis @ 27:
That brings to mind probably the only memoriable quote from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
"What does God need with a starship?"
OxyCon @ 31:
thanks for that... i should figure that most of what the huckster says is some sort of quasi-christian code to the sheeple. i checked out vertical thought magazine and read the following:
"God gave authority to the man to be the leader in his marriage and family, which also outlines the norm for the male leadership roles in the Church. A wife is to bring honor to her husband by supporting his leadership and using her talents to complement her husband's abilities, as they work together to serve God and care for their family. Spiritually mature women are to teach and encourage younger women in their feminine role. A wife's role includes keeping the home and loving her-husband."
instead of letting huckster play cheesy songs on his bass, and roll out chuck 'i punch in jesus' name' norris, the journalists (they haven't gone totally extinct... have they?) should grill huckster about his TRUE beliefs.
If Huckabee wins on November 2nd, I'll be starting a company on November 3rd making these new flags...
God's Army is the reason we have all this terrorism and wars happening.
Believe me, if there WAS a god he would have spoken up for his/herself by now to stop all these embarrassing idiots and their ghost/skyguy talk.
I have no problem with believers unless they try to convince me of their obsessions and delusions.
OxyCon @ 31:
I know what you mean. The crowd that wants to start world war 3 and be raptured by Jesus right before the world goes to hell.
I'm a Christian but these guys are a bunch of masonic FAKE christian cult members.
With all the republican candidates minus Ron Paul its "How do you like your tyranny?"
Why do you think Bush is in Jerusalem and the NEOCONs are hyping the straights of Hormuz Iranian ship incident?
Soilders for christ is pretty standard language for many Christians but Id guess many don't take it literally or even if they do they don't equate it to killing non believers. So of course might.
Does this mean that if I'm not an evangelical, I'm not an American? Will this be the next signing statement? Good grief. Someone PLEASE wake me up from this nightmare!
Can you say "American Taliban"?
i think its past time to take back any tax free status for all religions and churches, they are the new corporations and dont deserve to be tax free, thier was a time when churches helped the poor and the needy, well not anymore , now its helping thier lobbiests get elected the huckabees the romneys of this country or building bigger and better churches for thier brain dead congrigations , cant whorship the lord in squallor whoes going to go to a church that dont have that new smell to it, jesus weve come a long way from the old fashioned church were the parishoners waved thier funeral home furnished hand fans refreshing thier wicked bodys!
ysbaddaden @ 34:
No, it's Harold. As in the Our Father prayer........"Harold be thy name".
tyree @ 46:
i so agree.
it is about time. pastors, fathers, reverends, etc preaching about politics, urging their flock to vote certain ways, mixing religion with militancy and the military, are all reasons that churches no longer deserve their tax-free status.
moniker @ 29:
And why Chuck is not a politician
I'm sorry the US is already lead by a moron who believes in magical invisible omnipotent wish granting fairies. But thanks for playing.
Samson- @ 48:
Evangelical Mercenaries = "God's" defense contractors.
Unbelievable. There's no difference between the Islamic Jihaddists and God's Army. If you want to watch something more frightening than ANY horror movie on the market today, rent the movie "Jesus Camp." HAHAHAH! I love their logic; earth is one big toilet bowl 'till Jesus or allah takes everyone home! Well, how about in the mean time we "FLUSH" once or twice as a courtesy to everyone else.
DOMINIONISM
(A.K.A. CHRISTIAN RECONSTRUCTIONISM,
DOMINION THEOLOGY, AND THEONOMY)
http://www.religioustolerance.org/reconstr.htm
Huckabee's religiosity is truly alarming and I can envision the missiles flying now in the name of the Lord. I hope there are enough sensible people left in this country who can see that voting for this guy equates to suicide.
.
Huckabee is a FRAUD!
What Christian uses their ability to walk the path of Christ yet endorse unChristlike behavior?
Who's god says:
"Thou shall kill thine neighbor"
"America is righteous to throw stones"
"Covet your neighbors goods"
HUCKABEE is an EVILgelical. NOT a Christian.
"What you do unto the least, you do unto me," Jesus Christ.
"Those without sin may throw the first stone," Jesus Christ.
"Love thine neighbor as you would have him love you," Jesus Christ.
"Fascism will make it to America wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."
For the non-Christians, I point the the ONE TRUE LAW...
LOVE THINE NEIGHBOR.
Matt 23: 8-21
8: But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9: And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10: Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11: But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12: And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13: But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to goin.
14: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for apretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greaterdamnation.
15: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
16: Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17: Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18: And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
19: Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20: Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21: And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22: And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24: Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26: Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
27: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
28: Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnishthe sepulchres of the righteous,
30: And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31: Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
wow one of my comments was there and then totally disappeared
I can just imagine this sonofabitch preaching from the Oval Office!
That's something this country simply can not tolerate.
God's Army??......
Soldiers for Christ??.....
Using God's name to get votes. I wonder what God thinks about that? Next thing you know God's going to be whispering in his ear also. Is Huckabee on meds also? I've had enough of that CRAP with the WarPig. Not another one trying to hurry Armageddon along. I can't help thinking of Mark 13:6 and Matthew 24:5
Sitting in a church no more makes one a Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car.
Clytemnestra @ 56:
Kind of like the national economy.
Jo @ 47:
I thought that was the name of an angel, as in Hark the Harold Angel Sings.

tyree @ 46:
Tax them until they cry uncle. Make them wish they had not stepped over the wall separating church and state.
Huckabee is nothing more than a Rainmaker or a Snake Oil Salesman. A Cult leader. I think they all have small penises.
Nevil Longbottom @ 43:
That was what I was taught in Church.
But I was also taught that if you kill for God, God will sanction your actions. This I learned during the Vietnam War. I guess the priest didn't want to tell all those mothers that their sons were going to hell.
After 9/11, working as a highly qualified software engineer, loading trucks with palettes of cigarettes by muscle power, my Mexican Compadres often had the Christian Broadcasting Network on the radio. After hour the evangelists exhorted the faithful to enlist and slay the minions of Satan in the Middle East.
Onward christian soldiers!
Just another GOP NUTCASE in an Armani
RW @ 64:
Easy, he could become our Pharoah.
ysbaddaden @ 60:
Huuuuuummmmmmmmmmm. You may be on to something.
The huck is just what this country needs.....a leader who hears voices from God in leading us onward. Just think about. We've spent the last 7+ years led by a moron with an ego bigger than Mt Everest, and he claims God is his driving force...but he wouldn't know God if he spent a week with him in Darfur.
The huck is scary, but I'd rather he led the repug party than those blood thirsty, neocon, chicken hawk slimeballs.
Why is a church holding it’s sermons in a Middle School cafeteria?
Well if the Rev. gets in office we will finally have that holy war people have been talking about. Yes the Republicans are ready to fight the Muslims the only question is where will the Jewish people stand. If the bible is correct the Jewish people will watch from the side lines and see who wins. While the Christians and Muslims fight the Jewish people will finally get to settle on holy land and claim it as their own. And Americans thought Al Qaeda was building and army and terrorist. They have nothing on Rev. Huck and his Christian Republican base. Children will fight and woman will fight in the new US holy war. If your not with Rev. Huck and the Christian Republicans your against them. As Rev. Huck as noted with the floating cross America is a total Christian country. By by Bin Laden was right America will destroy itself.
Holy Crap! To think this guy won in Iowa! I hope he gets crushed in New Hampshire. Yeah, that's what we need, another so-called Christian Soldier! Let's follow Georgie's lead and alienate and invade all infidels! Jesus, these people are nuts. And to think, they actually believe they are Christian.
Another of the Huckster's sermons:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkeflmkFCj0
Appropriate for funerals it would seem.
The American Taliban is here, and Huckabee is their Ayatollah Khomeni. Anyone who isn't freaked out by this is either not paying attention or part of the American Christian Taliban themselves.
Very scary dude. He's hoping for the religious right vote to carry him.
Who would Jesus bomb?
Is Little Huck with the Glock the same one that sliced and diced the "mangy" dog?
When I see a preacher banging on his bible, I look at the family not to see if they are perfect, but if they are somewhat normal or somewhat off the charts for rebellion. If rebellion, to me (IMHO only) it means they know Dad's sermons are full of crap.
Looks like the kids are just soaking up them good moral values...Heck of a job, Huck!
ysbaddaden @ 59:
Damn! Bush has a long reach.
Ooookay...
This has to be at least a little bit illegal...
Found this little gem on the "Chuck & Huck Show" on NPR:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17914847
What a travelling freak show! Like Jeff Foxworthy says, "If an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger changed your life, you might be a red-neck!"
Somewhere up in heaven Jesus is grumbling "Leave me out of your stupid political shenanigans".
The translation of “God’s Army” in Arabic or Farsi is "Hezballah"
While we do not approve of Mike Huckabee's populist liberal appeals, we strong believe that Mike Huckabee rising popularity is a good thing for all of us in America.
His rising popularity indicates that there is an increasing and growing segment of our population who believes that this nation can and should become a leader in the fight against extremism and terrorism, a leader in bringing about global peace through Christianity, and leader of liberty and freedom, particularly Christian religious freedom.
Even though I cannot personally approve of his candidacy (because of his liberal populist ideals). His rising popularity amongst all the presidential candidates is a sign, that we, Christian Evangelicals, are here to stay in America, and that our policy of respecting traditional family values and life is gaining traction among Americans and the world community at large. I wish Mike Huckabee the very best, may he win the nomination to be our president of the USA.
DJ, Arlington Group.
Huck's rapture bunnyism knows no bounds. He always wants to party like it's 1999 BCE
dj @ 80:
Funny, that seems to be the goal of Islamic radicals - to bring about world "peace" through strict adherence and violent conversion to Islamic fundamentalism, and they won't stop the killing until it's done. Funny how much you Christian fundamentalists and Islamic fundamentalists have in common, DJ. You guys are all crazy, and I do believe I speak for the 70% of America that hasn't lost it's mind yet.
I think this video would be much more effective without the gore. In fact, I stopped wathcing it when they started driving nails through flesh. I didn´t go to see that horror film, and I don´t want to see it now. Not everybody is innured to violence.
dj @ 80:
hmm, i would take his covert, wink and nod statements about his evangelical beliefs to be a sign that most of the country (the theocratic-leaning members of the GOP aside) is wary of religious fundamentalism, a la the taliban, that people like huckabee preach.
it always makes me laugh (through tears of anger) this notion spewed by the radical right that christianity is based on the inequality and division the right preaches. that, somehow, jesus would be down with fear-mongering, hating one's neighbors, the need for complete domination and delusions of persecution.
the right has been trying to convince the evangelicals for years that economic inequality is a christian virtue, and people like mike huckabee are on the front lines preachin' this falsehood. sadly, many, like dj, buy into this BS.
dj : Its hard to figure out which ass your head is farther up , your own or the Hucksters .
I hope the Republicans realize (and if you are to believe the Christian Bible) that Gods army would be fighting oppression not encouraging it, feeding the poor and screwing them, loving our enemies not killing them, and the only thing we would be fighting in "Gods Army" would be the corporatists and maybe the pedophile priests.
dj @ 80:
So are you saying that you want to enlist in the military to fight in Huckabee's religious wars?
It's just like that nutcase group that pushes 'Battlecry for Teens' and urges them to be 'stalkers for Christ'. The phrase is ambiguous, and the rhetoric encourages an activism that seems (to me, at least) to be wildly inconsistent with Christ's teachings.
If we elect another false prophet, it won't be long before we start imprisoning the religious minorities. We've got H.R. 847 on the books now, we're already waterboarding enemies, and we've built reeducation camps (you don't honestly think camp won't come with a little dose o' Jesus, do you?).
Any one catch the Colbert Report last night? CL if you can find the clip it was well done and seems as though they were setting Scababee up from the start. Of course Stephen was talking about the Colbert Bump he gave Huckabee, also pointing out that every time he was on he promised Stephen the VP spot. Anyway, after all was said and done he talked about how he is suppose to have a 'grit-off' with Barack, only Obama will not appear on the show till the end of the strike. SC also ran a clip from one of the debates where Obama would pledge to talk to and engage in direct diplomacy with all the world leaders including, "Ahmadine-WritersGuildofAmerica-jad", but not poor ol' pundit Stephen.
...as soon as this went to commercial I flipped over to Letterman and saw Fuckabee making his third late night show spot since the shows came back (Leno, Ferguson, Letterman). FTR, he didnt come across all that strong and Dave got a few subtle pokes in there.
Really goes to show the contrast of the front runners of their respective parties, as well as the core values of which party they belong. One is brave enough to spit in the face of the average, union worker, to sit down and talk to a TV host; meanwhile the other is cowardice and naive enough to avoid getting both "slammed by Stephen" and "the bump" and would rather talk with other world leaders, both friend and foe.
Pander or Preside?
..."pick a side- we're at war"
BIGBONEDED @ 85:
There's room for both? ::: shudder :::
dj @ 80:
Ok nutjob - honestly, you and your ilk scare me more than Huckleberry being president does.
Time to buy a gun, I guess...
this guys fucking scary.
BTW, dj
Jesus was a liberal.
Be a part of God's Army and ship your youngins off to Jesus Camp!
What's next, a vacation at Jonestown?
God needs an army?
I thought the four horseman were enough for an apocalypse and a rapture or two..................
I rather join the Russian Army, than Hickabees Night Templers.
What I find interesting is the picture. We have an ordained Baptist Minister
in the foreground and behind him is a pair of hands holding a Bible and rosary.
Someone needs to be reminded that Baptists and Catholics don't go together, and
that's why they need to stop with all this "America is a christain nation" crap because
what brand of christianity would that be exactly? Huckabee's brand, Bill Donohue's
brand, George Bush's brand...Mitt Romney's? Because I'll tell you one thing, they'll
even kill each other in order to promote their particular sect over another
with all the rest of us caught in the middle.
Great. I can see the t-shirts now . . .
BRAIN-WASHED CHRISTO-FASCIST HUCKABEEBOTS FOR CHRIST
*
Bud @ 93:
Not just that, but a "populist liberal."
And Jesus never said anything about homosexuality and abortion either.
I'll give Huckabee credit for at least recognizing that being Christian means, ya know, following the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. That might explain his "liberal populist" ideas.
And FYI for everybody:
Arlington Group:
The Arlington Group is a coalition which unites the leaders of almost all of the most prominent Christian Right organizations in the United States. Founded in 2002 principally through the efforts of American Family Association President Donald Wildmon and Free Congress Foundation Chairman Paul Weyrich, the group seeks to establish consensus goals and strategy among its members and translate its combined constituency into an overwhelming force within the Republican Party, particularly at its highest levels. Its membership and purpose overlaps to a high degree with the Council for National Policy; but the group is much more narrowly focused, choosing to emphasize such issues as same-sex marriage, abortion, and confirmation of like-minded federal judges.
I just hope this nutcase crashes and burns soon.. If the repubs opt for this clueless nut-job for their choice as prez.., and even if he loses in the general election.... (which would be likely).. It just encourages the religio-fascists to keep trying to dick around with the separation of church and state.... And folks, that shit has got to stop.....JD
And if Huckabee gets elected:
Armor of God PJs
Uh........
How is this acceptable? That kind of talk ought to immediately and automatically disqualify him from the presidential race.
My question to Mike Huckabee: Can I join God's Peace Corps instead?
G-d's Army? Does he want a Christian Jihad. If so, I'm Jewish. It seems Evengelicals are closer to terrorism than peace.
Sarah @ 101:
That is scary...and I thought it was some kind of joke! Do they come with
chastity belts that adjust as the kids grow older?
Dana @ 105:
Wow, your right, that is one of the scariest website I've ever seen. and the worst part is they wouldn't sell them if people didn't buy them. Oh, I would hope people of faith would have more faith and believe that their children wouldn't need God's Chain-mail PJ's complete with Faith shield (does that protect you from faith?) and that their values would protect them and guide their way into heaven.
I'm an atheist but I believe if your going to have a belief then believe it!!! Don't hope that if you buy your child special clothes that if they end up in the afterlife they won't end up in the Purgatory Orphanage
What kind of god would need any kind of army, least of all an army of children? There is a lot of this drivel emanating from the Christian right. It seems they are advancing from a merely militant to an overtly militaristic dogma that is even now infecting our armed forces, where it has become fashionable, and even encouraged, to proclaim a higher duty to fundamentalist religious doctrine than to sworn oaths of allegiance to the Constitution of the United States. The next President will need to make it perfectly clear that those with such sectarian convictions should seek careers in the ministry, not he military. The American people need to make it clear that such views are also unacceptable in the Presidency. Some one might even wish to inform Rev. Hiuckabee about the outcome of the last Children's Crusade.
