I actually felt pretty sorry for him that day. That was the day that Porky McClellan's book came out. He seemed pretty distracted during the speech, and now we know why.

That was the first time that I've ever seen the President give an address to a graduating military academy class, and only get a tepid response from the audience. It was particularly sad when he said "as a former Air Force fighter pilot, I..." and only got a few polite applause of solidarity. I don't think anybody in the Air Force academy wanted to be reminded of that.
He's come close but has never looked this monkey-like in seven and a half years. Bravo, Mr. President.

Anyhow, if he did indeed get a tepid welcome/response at the AF Academy he is really in trouble. Air Force is the most indoctrinated of the branches of the army, they don't drink the cool aid... they swim in it.
