On Senseless Violence and Deaths
With the news of his friend Brian Beutler’s shooting, and after spending some time with the family of an Iraqi war veteran from Massachusetts who came safely home only to be killed in a Texas bar, Murray Waas contemplates RFK’s words on violence.

Happy 4th everyone! Hopefully when Bush finally gets out of office, we can repair our Constitution, and then we can really celebrate!
Really moving, as well as bitterly poignant.
How far we've descended from this to the blustering stupidity of "Bring it on!"
"It's Obama's fault"
~LAC
He was right ! We shouldn't be killing eachother. We should be killing the Islamofascists and all people in the other countries because they are all enemies.
I am an 14 year old child who grew up watching the Great President George Bush protect our country. From the age of 7 until now ( 14 years old) I have seen how taking the fight to the enemy IS EFFECTIVE. We are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over there. My parents are republicans. I live with my mom. My dad is in jail. I know that in my heart that my dad is republican...because my dad was arrested for doing a combination of what got the following people in trouble : Larry Craig, Ted Haggerty,....ad infinitum.
Republicans Rule ! Abstainence Programs Rule ! I'm 14 years old and I don't masturbate ! Thinking in Black and White Rules ! Seeing things in Black and White Rules! Bomb Iran ! Armageddon ! Everything is the Democrats fault ! We would have won in Viet Nam if it wasn't for the appeasers! Henry Kissenger Rules ! John Bolton is God ! Obama is against Imperializing the Middle East. Stop him now !
Great video.
Happy Independence Day, folks.
Happy Independence Day and peace to all. : )

I hope you enjoy this video as it's message is along the same line as RFK's speach.
Sounds bizzarre ... but also sounds in keeping with a young evangelical gentleman who frequented another forum I was on.
Violence & Hatred = Faux Snooze

Watching that video and listening to Robert Kennedy's speech brought a tear to my eye. It was so very touching and poignant.
Happy Independence Day to my American brothers and sisters. There are many of us who are thinking of you. Peace.
i was hoping that this was where obama was headed
then he surrounded himself with party regulars...and they have perverted his campaign

beautiful.
Uncle Joe Mccarthy @ 11:
That's what I was thinking too. Maybe Obama is just taking a breather, and he'll come back stronger in a month or two.
Old Billy Hussein @ 14:
Obama has not experienced the triumph and pain that RFK had gone through by the time he made that speech. But Obama is the only one in our land currently who is gifted enough to aspire to the level of truth and love of humanity that RFK's words reach. RFK is a reminder that our country once produced the most freedom-loving people in the world. I hope Obama listens to these words again and they inspire him to get back on track. Maybe also he should stop hanging out with the Clintons for a while.
Date of RFK's speech: April 5, 1968
Assassination of MLK: April 4, 1968
Assassination of RFK: June 6, 1968
Dead today at 86: Jessie Helms.
Dead June 28 at 31: Joseph Patrick Dwyer. From WRAL:
PINEHURST, N.C. — A former Army medic made famous by a photograph that showed him carrying an injured Iraqi boy during the first week of the war has died of an apparent overdose, police said.
All war is pointless, bloody and destructive, and it is a madness that possesses everyone, whether atheist, agnostic, ignostic, or theistic or polytheistic.
On Senseless Violence and Deaths
Sounds like a great title to a new Reality TV show.
Uncle Sam has a distinctly sinister countenance this Fourth of July.
it's soul-destroying to hear words like that pass away unheard or unheeded
Shadowgm Hussein @ 8:
My goodness. I can't believe that we've allowed such animals to exist in this country.
Notice how the little monster is glorifying Armageddon? He's nothing more than a psychopath. He only wants to kill.
Please don't let that disgusting example of humanity breed.
Maybe he was a star in that movie "Jesus Camp" or what the name was.
"All war is pointless, bloody and destructive, and it is a madness that possesses everyone, whether atheist, agnostic, ignostic, or theistic or polytheistic." General, I couldn't agree with you more. And Scarabus, you are absolutely on target. Not only is our once respected country in the toilet, but our country's leaders have lost any eloquence to inspire us to look to the best within ourselves as did RFK.
That certainly brought a tears to my eyes...both for the powerful message & for the waste of that amazing messenger's life.
I'm not even an American, but I mourn not only the loss of such a great man & what he might have done for your country...but also the loss of the very reasons your country was founded & what it used to stand for.
The saddest part...it seems that it may simply continue on...
OWCH!! Let blood-letting and real "LIBERTY" ring on this July 4th- we're all so soul-sick, for heaven's sake!! <>
Number 24- please express yourself much more 'liberally' SVP?!!
For those who haven't read Waas's story, the guy killed in Texas was attacked because he was wearing a Boston Red Sox shirt.
noble thoughts lead to noble actions.
