The woman who gets angry while defending FOX News is too funny.
Woman 1: I watch FOX News and I read magazines and I determine for myself what the truth is.
Woman 2: Yea, she watches FOX...
Woman 1: That's right, FOX is fair and balanced. The others are in the tank for Obama."
Check out Cenac's first focus group sketch below the fold.

firstly, i am focused on my palomino-rex!
Scary stuff at the very end.
That lady at the end talking about Michelle looking like a horse. Made me cringe..Jon cringed too.
the old people's bantering saved this skit.
for the first minute of the skit, i was like "this isn't funny....at all"
i don't think we'll be seeing much of this guy anymore.
Thought I'd die laughing when they cut back to Jon with his head on his desk in embarrassment.
the sad part is there are millions of those same kind of people. And their votes count just as much (sometimes more) then sane people's do.
the "they have to come from a certain tribe" comment referring to the pleasantly plump asses of african american women is the sadest, yet most comedically telling moment in this entire campaign season.
the "they have to come from a certain tribe" comment referring to the pleasantly plump asses of african american women is the sadest, yet most comedically telling moment in this entire campaign season.
Typical white people. It is a shame really.
Chris from Maine @ 6:
My step-mother's mother thinks McCain is "nice man". She is also constantly victimized by all the lying emails that we are always hearing about. So she's apparently going to vote for him.
My dad's neighbors, in their 60's I think, are LIFELONG Dems voting for McCain. Why? Their reason is that they think Obama is going to raise their taxes. After picking my jaw up from the floor, I was so tempted to walk next door and educate them on this point. Then I realized, "Lifelong Dems? NOW, after 8 years of total nightmare, NOW they cross party lines to vote for this mean, stupid, angry, establishment pastey......OOOOOOhhhhhh no......". I simply did not want to think that this was all about race for these people. I never did find out.
At any rate, this DINO demographic is out there and some of them are afraid of change, even for the positive, it appears.
Is it wrong that this just makes me sad?
Big Red Will @ 9:
LOL - it's called being old and jewish and I thought it was funny as hell - try to not be so serious and enjoy old people saying stupid shit once in a while.
Brian @ 3:
First of all... With the extreme possibility of being called a sexiest: I love women that are "built" that way. And so do most guys I know. (But we like the chunkier gals like Marilyn Monroe too... We're old). And I bet her hubby loves 'em too.
The Black Hair Dye Job gal is hysterical. Even the people that love FOX don't think they're Fair and Balanced. I guess I shouldn't laugh... this is our "informed" voter public... sigh.
Well....
The Dems couldn't win Florida with a Jew on the ballot.
How can having a black guy on it do any worse.
I watched this last night and came near to pissing myself. "Just yell out your opinion": inspired!
Big Red Will @ 9:
Huh? What are you nuts? These are old, delusional (mostly), retired folks... Certainly not typical White People (I hope)... So, it's not a racist remark if it's about Old White Jews?
Brian @ 3:
I tried giving the benefit of the doubt, and I made myself believe that she said "arse."
Maybe an old British Jewish ex-pat?
Alas, there were a couple of very reasonable folks in that group thought, which sort of made it more tolerable.
That is about the funniest piece I have ever seen. Genius. "She's a horse" horrible
I hope the Daily show goes into some more senior situations.
Jay Severin Has A Small Pen1s @ 14:
From what I understand... The white guy and the old Jew did win Florida... The Supreme Court objected.
love to see the same thing in a georgia retirement home, or church bingo or whatever they do.
This is why i will never go near a cruise ship ...
On the plus side most of these people would be unwise to purchase green bananas are are unlikely to make it to the pollls. The guy in the blue shirt seemed pretty sharp. I hope he gets a vote in.
Bonkers @ 10:
Print out some important differences and facts about McCain & Obama, put it in an envelope and hand it to them.
Chris from Maine @ 6:
Yea. This would've been a pretty humorous video clip - except it's all too true!
Big Red Will @ 9:
Big Red Will - Come on man!, This reming part of that generation are a dying off, in great numbers. That is the way they were brought up. They are the remnants of the "greatest generation", and that moniker is a pile of crap. They fought a clearly defined war, a monumental effort, not doubt. But later generations have more fully recognized problems of race and have fought it. The next one is doing better, the one after than will wonder what all the fuss was about. Life is changing. I hope I live to see the change, but racists, narrow-minded (O.K.) white people are frightened at the probable loss of power and exclusivity. First, its not all "typical" white people any more than there is a typical white person (O.K. I'll grant you, there are a lot of them), but my dad, who would have been 89, would have watched this and said. "dumb asses".
Change is small but continual. I hope you live to see the changes you wish also Will.
When I say "typical" I'm talking about the great state of Florida. "White" in this context actually means jewish. And it isn't sad. That was taken out of context, obviously I mean great!
"lot's of schwatzers have a big tuuces!"
"depends on the tribe!"
NO racism there!!! And Israel is not a racist theocracy either!!!
That was too funny! If I closed my eyes I could imagine
my parents sitting there making many of those exact comments.
(with a little less accent)
Inspired.

LOL - it’s called being old and jewish and I thought it was funny as hell - try to not be so serious and enjoy old people saying stupid shit once in a while.
_____________
I disagree. I believe that as people age their pretenses disappear and they become MORE like how/who they really are. Old people who say stupid shit, were young people who said stupid shit, and now that they're older they are MORE LIKELY to say stupid shit.
Frankly, I found last night's focus group segment painful to watch. TDS has done far better stuff. Far, far better.
This makes it painfully obvious that the problems with the American educational system are not new; we've been raising morons for quite some time now.
Try living down here. I'm not in Miami but Miami doesn't have a monopoly on elderly people just like these. They're all over the place.
earl @ 21:
This is why I'll never work for and get paid to be on a cruise ship.
Leadership @ 27:
Yeah, and people are supposed to just get over it. Their ideas were passed on down the line, though sometimes those ideas are rejected by their progeny, other times they're not rejected at all, but incorporated into their offspring's belief systems.
Let's all have a big laugh at the absurdity of it all and forget for the moment that it negatively affects the world we live in... well not all of us... just some of us... so it's no big deal.
Well, that was a pleasant look into the mirror...wasn't it America.
Pop...we know...trust me...we know.
Big Red Will @ 9:
Will,
some forms of racism are harmless and funny. To the old Jewish man's comment about Michelle Obama's ass, I would tell anyone who doesn't know, don't knock a big round butt like that unless you've tried it.
Kinda makes you wanna reform Social Security...doesn't it. ; 0 )
"don’t knock a big round butt like that unless you’ve tried it."
LOL. I don't think that's helpful. LOLOL!
Isome Hussein @ 34:
Racism is Racism is Racism. Period, I don't give a rat's ass how they grew up.
It looked like a reunion, in about 50 years, of C&L trolls.
Left&Left @ 36:
Honestly, I think the old white geezer was amused and fascinated my Michelle's derriere. If anything, it was the old white lady (with a flat ass I am sure) who felt relatively threatened...
At the end when the 'blonde' remarked on Michelle Obama's booty?
Priceless...
albabe @ 13:
**************************************** This is what is so frightening. A lot of folks watch FOX and think it is fair and balanced. I watch FOX so to understand where they get such ignorant thinking. Last night was really a riot. Billo and Sean were at their worst.
pissed off patricia @ 40:
Indeed.
DMS @ 30:
It was exquisite. Fucking BRILLIANT!
So much revealed by so little effort...
Fla's dang unlikely to fall toObamak, especially if Charlie Crisp can get the Cops on the Barackades...
Best comedy on the tellie--even "Mr. Emmy" said so! I really love Wyatt Cenac's style. He's the best new correspondent to come along since John Oliver. I hope that Jon & the lads keep up the good work. I agree with woody, tokin librul "f'ing BRILLIANT".
Geez, they aired this months ago...
Unfortunate that for every "Art" there are probably two or more "Fox News watcher" types.
Makes me not even want to go down to the docks and LOOK at a cruise ship. I was thinking at first it was a skit, and how nice getting some older actors some work.
I did remember thinking at the time, why is the camera right on Michelle's butt, for a tad too long.
knifewrench @ 47:
*******
Did you watch both? One is months ago and the other was aired yesterday.
I thought this segment was a bit appalling, but humorous just the same. I laughed my ass off in the kind of way you laugh the first time you see Fargo- a body is being shredded by a wood chipper and tears are rolling out of the corners of your eyes from laughing so hard and you think to yourself "is it okay to be laughing at this? Ah, to hell with it, this is hilarious."
With this sort of thing, I think it's important to remember that it's comedy central we're talking about and to refrain from dissecting it too much. It's supposed to be funny, and it was.
the people who are addicted to fox news believe with all their hearts that fox news is indeed fair and balanced. That is difficult to overcome.
I thought it was funny, although it teetered on exploitative towards the end. It listened in on a whispered conversation, which seemed to violate what these old folks agreed to.
All I can say if that was accurate, the Dems have a tough road to hoe. And yes, that Michelle Obama comment made me cringe too.
You left out the most racism part as Jezebel.com summarizes it:
'... What's not so hilarious, except maybe in a cringing way, is the casual racism displayed, especially by the one woman who says Michelle Obama is built like "a horse" because black women have "big tuchuses." You'll want to bury your head in your arms just like Jon Stewart does ...'
Palast and RFK Jr. and my education
I got an education tonight via bliptv. These video segments are well worth the time. Palast and Kennedy are both interesting and eloquent and they are speaking about something of tremendous importance to all of us.

well, what we saw was the typical fox viewer
but what was nice was watching that some elderly do think for themselves
when that gentleman talked about palin, and how mccain dissed him and the rest of america by picking her, it put a big smile on my face
and this hearkens back to obama's speech on race
you cannot change the older generation...they are stuck in their era
and michelle does have a great ass....i would hit that
What do you call florida state cop roadblocks erected to keep rural, black voters away from the polls?
Barackades, of course...
SwingingJohnson @ 23:
Print out that little tax analysis that says McCain will give money to those making over 600,000 a year while those making less will have to pay far more taxes. Obama will charge those who can afford it namely those who make tons of money but just horde it. People will get more money under Obama then McCain. Ask them why they think taxes won't be raised when all logic says it will be if you want services provided. Trickle down economics is a effing joke. Greedy companies will just horde the money and not spend it. Incentivies should be offered to those who need it not multi-billion dollar corporations making billions yet paying less taxes percantage wise then a family of four.
If you look at the chalk board, the Florida OAP focus group had Obama the winner 6-4. That pretty much jives with the other focus groups and snap pollls.
How much of an idiot was that FOX News women?
Priceless. Oy vey!
alien @ 4:
Umm, the slow beginning...it was on purpose. I laughed out loud when I saw all of the choices on the board with all those old folks, and when he said, "we're not getting the results, you have to hit send after you press the button" (paraphrasing).
There were so many choices, it was doomed to failure. This set up the real bit, which was the old folks banter.
Wyatt's very smart, and funny.
greg @ 50:
It looked like the same segment to me...
Check out Sarah Silverman's take on the Fla jewish vote and Obama. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=AgHHX9R4Qtk
Big Red Will @ 26:
LOL...typical politician's response
Oh crap. I didn't get that the top image was a vid. Looked like just an image.
Guess I'm not cut out to vote with butterfly ballots either...
That was rich, genuinely funny, and Mrs. O is a big girl, though comparing to a barn yard animal might offend just slightly. Very clever piece.
Bonkers: You may want to show them this break down of Obama and McCain's tax plans and how it would affect them:
CHART: http://tinyurl.com/5s4l7j
"I watch FOX, it's fair and balanced." It would be funny, except that this moron person has a vote. She definitely had the interrupting and shouting part down pat. Must have learn that from watching Hannity and that other douchebag, what's his name(?)...... O'Reily.
What. An. Idiot.
I Love To See Steward Keeping It Real
With all the laughter created out of the show, John Steward managed to keep a sense of realism in his video. In a way, he spotlighted the danger of misinformation -- especially within the aging community. These senior participants expressed their true feelings, and it was obvious they were allowed to do so. Steward is truly unique.
Joseph
I hope everybody reading this is aware of "The Great Schlep" (http://thegreatschlep.com/), a nationwide initiative to get younger people to talk to their grandparents about Obama. Their talking points PDF is a pretty good resource.
Wow, who's scarier...the candidates or the voters?
Paul @ 69:
I think a lot of folks here carry themselves too seriously. Yes, things are a mess right now - which is precisely why a sense of humour is a necessity! As wars and natural disasters and economic crises spiral out of control, only the upbeat and good humoured will carry us through.
I am a New Yorker who has been in South Florida for 9 months. I can definitely vouch for the racism here - even if some of it is couched in "Obama is a Muslim" or "Obama is a Communist because he wants to sit down with the President of Venezuela" or "Obama hates Israel". They are all excuses for the real reason some people do not want to vote for Obama: Obama is black. Many Hillary voters told me that they love her - and can't stand him. I wonder why.
Big Red Will @ 9:
Not all white people are alike, you know.
Jay Severin Has A Small Pen1s @ 14:
Look up the term Butterfly ballot. The ballot confused some people and many voted for someone other than they wanted to.
Sigh....and people actually wonder why this election will be so close.
Let me break it to you. This country is packed with morons, idiots, fucktards, rednecks and other assorted lowest common denominators. These are the same "people" who vote for someone who's just like them...someone they want to have a beer with....someone who doesn't use all them big, fancy words.
You want to know why Amerika is sinking??? Take a look at its citizens.
The lady in white is a real piece of work. How'd ya like her as your mother-in-law?
This clip proves two things:
a) The era of respecting ones elders is COMPLETELY OVER. Old people now have to earn respect on merit just like the rest of us. Almost none of these codgers have a speck of mine.
and
b) If you mock jews you're a NAZI unless you yourself are jewish or you're working on behalf of a jew.
Remember, the elderly vote in DROVES because they have nothing else to do with their time. Scary, huh?
Naked Lunch is funny, too
"I have no precise memory of writing the notes which have now been published under the title Naked Lunch," William Burroughs wrote. After he emerged from his heroin addiction ("The Sickness", as he called it), the significance of the title dawned on him. "The title was suggested by Jack Kerouac. I did not understand what the title meant until my recent recovery. The title means exactly what the words say: Naked Lunch - a frozen moment when everyone sees what is on the end of the fork."
For this video, Naked Nosh.
Ha! I LOOOOOOOVE the Daily Show. The only news show that's supposed to be a joke.
{Deleted, Spam. SiteMonitor}
All I'm going to say is I'm glad my 93 grandmother wasn't there. She would have ripped apart the dark haired Jewish woman. LOL
The focus group was way funnier than the moderator. Maybe he'll get better with practice.
Fear works on the weak-minded... always has, always will.
I like big butts, and I cannot lie.
Woman 1 is drunk as a skunk on the O'Reilly kool-aid.
That and perhaps some dementia has set in.
-
I swear I saw George Costanza's folks there in the back row...
murray hall@87
SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!
The sour-faced, pissy old woman who stuck up for Fox "News" says it all for me.
I'm glad to see that Indecision 2008 is bringing us another great correspondent. Wyatt Cenac's been hysterical with his "does it look like I give a fuck?" expressions. He and Larry Wilmore have been gold.
Left&Left @ 36:
Hmmm, I think I may have descended from the same tribe as Michelle. She's Irish, right?
Evidence incarnate of the insidious evil that is Fox News
