On this Friday's Outnumbered, Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky hit Eric Bolling hard for defending Donald Trump's refusal to release his tax returns.

When Bolling used Trump's audit excuse to defend his refusal to release his returns, Roginsky smashed a rebuttal right down on him.

“He’s only under audit for a year or two, according to him," she pointed out. “He hasn’t been under audit for previous years. He should release those tax returns. Nothing’s preventing him.”

This is where I interject a note that the purpose of an audit is to decide whether or not deductions against income were properly taken and whether the correct amount of tax was paid. It has nothing to do with the source income, nor is it a reason to withhold the returns.

Bolling countered anyway, saying that an audit of one year's return can affect future years, causing Roginsky to lose all patience. “You are are coming up with Kool-Aid excuses!”

“If this was Hillary Clinton, you’d be the first to demand that she release those taxes,” she chided.

You betcha. They'd lead with it 24/7. Imagine the headlines they'd lead with. Leave your best guesses in the comments.
