So I'm watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with Junior Dude and at the end the good wizard/headmaster Dumbledore is suggesting to the evil Lucius Malfoy that while he can't prove all the evil shenanigans Lucius allegedly committed during the past two hours of movie, any future shenanigans would have grave consequences.

Did Lucius scoff? Laugh? Call Dumbledore a liar and demand proof?

No.

He said, in a tone that would melt an anvil:

How. Dare. You!

And I thought, how very Republican of him.

Indeed! Time to stock up on ammo while we still can, before all the teabaggers and RW NRA wackos buy it all up...

too bad many of the people who should hear what he had to say would never tune in to MSNBC - let alone to Keith's show.

But, it should make the MSM tomorrow - so there's still hope that more USa'ers will wake up and get a clue that health care is a moral issue and that a single-payer, universal program is what we need.

"Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of Stupidity" - Frank Leahy

to "debate" the significance on CNN, ABC, blah, blah, blah.

And rushkkklannitybeckslaggage will argue that Keith's father is only alive because a "rich liberal" could buy his dad the best care available and that's proof the system works just fine (for them), blah, blah, blah...

I haven't heard Mike Malloy for a couple of months now (due to a f'ed up sound card), but as he's fond of saying, "Have I said tonight how much I hate these insurance companies people.

Terrible's picture

Guess again!! It's a hell of a lot more then that!

".. no more basic government responsibility than ensuring the care of its citizens."

And that is the crux of the issue.

Not that health care is the right of the individual (thoug I would argue that it is this also) but the responsibility of government to protect the health of the nation, which means the health of all the individuals in the nation.

(And it is "ensuring" .. NOT "insuring" .. Keith's got it right.)

Democracy is too important to be entrusted to politicians.
Rise Up!
Protest!

Abbybwood's picture

Are still just carrying water for the Obama Administration and it's rotten health "insurance" reform legislation MANDATING that every American buy health insurance or be fined/penalized and if they cannot pay the fine they will face prison.

I believe Keith did make a point of mentioning the whole IRS/prison aspect of the legislation a few nights ago.

Olbermann and Maddow and Schultz never to rarely mention Single Payer. I even noticed that Anthony Weiner has backed off from his Single Payer pitch lately. He apparently got the memo from the DNC: Shut up about Single Payer or no $$$$$$/endorsement next year.

We are witnessing hard core politics right now folks, and it's gonna get really ugly before the ink is dried on the bill.

Just my assessment of what I'm seeing going down.

The public is NOT supportive of this legislation as it's unfolding and the Democrats are prepared to ram it down all our throats whether we like it or not.

Almost no one, even progressives here, want to change the corrupt system we have from top down. How many more years will we suffer of this dark corruption? you have any other links for the "would-be" university shooter? The one you posted and the other ones I've been able to find, have no information other that someone reported a "man with a gun an a bomb" they have one person in custody, but they don't know if it was a hoax or real. The guy who stood up on the bus and stated that he was the one they were looking for, could of either been the person that was called on or a person that called in a hoax.

But you know, it is what it is at the end of the day anyway. Whatever.

I am one who watches television perhaps three hours a week.
I would totally agree that most of what it offers is crap.
Perhaps I am lucky here in Canada, but I know that I am well informed if I choose to be.
I have access to the CBC, which has news documentaries & investigative reports that are factual & incredibly researched...about not only Canadian issues, but those from around the world.
I am able to watch a unique individual, George Stroumboulopoulos, who has an hour interviewing such people as:
Al Gore, Sarah Palin, Tony Bennett, Tom Cruise, Ricky Gervais, Bono, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jane Goodall, Noam Chomsky, Matt Damon, Gordon Ramsay, former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Tim Robbins, Gore Vidal, Spike Lee, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Richard Dawkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Anka, Richard Branson, Barbara Walters, Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Maher, Bif Naked, Adrien Brody, Ted Danson, Paul Potts, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Chris Jericho, Georges St-Pierre, Dave Grohl, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush, The Smashing Pumpkins and Coldplay...and so many others.
Not all television is bad & I do consider myself very lucky to have access to such diverse & free speech as well as true journalism.

Either Conservapedia is using a IP blacklist to stop bad people viewing their website, or a third party is selectively blocking it.

As they have that article on rewriting the New Testament and received lots of ridicule for it, and prob plenty of new people coming from news aggregation sites, my moneys on a black list by IP.

Not surprising, paranoia quite often comes with Republicanism madness. They have a 'news' section dominating their front page, it reads like a teabagger hate list.

I'm out in an upscale NE Atlanta suburb of about 20K people. Talk about a ghost town--hundreds, maybe over a thousand, new houses, townhomes, and commercial sites recently built that are vacant. Lots of subdivisions with pads graded, then construction stopped dead. A city employee told me that building permits, averaging between 300-400/mo two years ago were at three last month. All this about an hour commute NE of the city.

Not a scientific study, but this looks far worse than what I've seen in my travels throughout CA, FL and Las Vegas recently. Scary stuff.
