Bill O'Reilly is "fascinated" with Sarah Palin, and has been featuring segments on her a lot of late. He had Glenn Beck on The O'Reilly Factor on Thursday night to talk about her prospects.

They agreed that her upcoming book tour is a "make or break" situation regarding her political future -- but that if she fares well with the media, she'll be well positioned for 2012. They also agree that resigning as governor before had even completed her first term was a "smart move."

Which gave Beck a launching pad for his prophesying mode:

Beck: Smart move. And I think she's also positioning herself for a third party. By the time this election runs around for the president, I'm sorry, but unless the Republicans and the Democrats wake up, a third party will win.

Presumably, by "wake up" Beck means "embrace the tea party philosophy of small government and big wingnuttery". The Democrats won't, but most likely the Republicans will. But I don't think it's going to be the recipe for victory Glenn Beck thinks it will be.

NUTCASES!!!!!!

Glenn Beck has "left the building"; and continues to leave the building.

has morphed into a huge ball of aluminum foil that he dug a little burrow in.

The republicans are feeling their way around for a candidate in the nature of a Jeff Bush.
What they really want are thinking about , is to field two republican candidates..
One on their right wing republican ticket and the other on the independent ticket...
They will try to drain some democratic votes to water down the election results.

I hope this 3rd "party" runs a complete national slate: that way the GOP could lose pretty much across the board. Sure there would be a few of these whackos winning in the districts-that-time-forgot but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and many of today's mainstream GOPers.

Conservatives are proving to be nothing more than a bunch of mentally, ill, extremists.

I think what you bring up is something that has been severely under-reported. The American political scene is wide-ranging and has a lot of variability of beliefs, as we all can agree.

But I know of no other explanation than mental illness to account for the stuff that Beck, and others, have said. "Smart move" to quit halfway through her first term as governor? Palin will win as a third-party candidate in 2012?

What I see is the Republican party and conservatives in a continual spin mode to make every action by rightwingers seem like pure brilliance, and every action by liberals/progressives/Democrats seem like something that is leading America down the road to fascist Muslim communism.

Using an occasional appeal to the base as a tactic toward actually governing may be acceptable, but the Republican party has become a creature that does nothing BUT arouse its base while offering no sane direction, no policies, no alternatives. When you are a bunch of angry villagers with pitchforks and torches, everything looks like a monster.

This is Dreck and O'Liely giving us the Fox lineup for the run up to the 2012 elections.Fox is on a path to own a political media network AND a third political party at the same time. It's perfect. This is what they have been working towards since before January 20th.This is very serious. I know they are nutcases, but they can do some serious damage in a lot of races, local and national.Coming Soon.... The Fox News... "Take Back America For Americans" (With special reports and updates as fast as we can make them up). This is perfect for them. They will have to be very careful about throwing the republicans under the bus. Though I think they have plenty of paid pundits that would gladly jump ship. Of course, if they have some way of covering their asses if things don't work out.

Have giving us nothing to be proud about.. Emanuel is pushing to many corporate repoublican policies to hold onto the votes they received in 2008..

Emanuel is corporate; therefore, he doesn't have the desire to change things.

1 out of 6 Americans now live in poverty. To continue down the path we're in is scary. There is nothing to stop corporate from outsourcing jobs and hiding money in tax havens. There is nothing to stop them from exploiting labor in other countries.

Our values are screwed. We worship money and things, and are in constant pursuit of money and things. That's how our Free Enterprise system sustains itself.

Look where credit cards and refinancing our homes over and over again got us. Debt kept and keeps Americans in denial.

Debt has given Americans:
1. A false sense of prosperity or debt used to give us a false sense of prosperity. Now many Americans rely on debt just to make ends meet.
2. Denial that wages are stagnant or declining.

Americans are also in denial that they are trapped in a cycle of debt by American capitalism [note I said American capitalism, and not Free Trade].

The president is trying to change things by talking to our young people about service and giving back. Good start. The older generation and Republicans will continue to embrace the status quo. Did you notice how Republicans denounced the presidents "call to service" and quickly called it socialism?

The president is also trying to embrace innovation and new technologies that will help create jobs in the United States that cannot be outsourced.

Republicans will never change. I'm betting on our progressive youth to turn things around.

"under God, indivisible, with time off to crap, shower and shop."

This will be delicious lol

I'd *love* to see the Tea Partiers get their 3rd party up and running alongside the Republicans. Seriously, imagine the size of the fracture.

Heck... I want them to actually get their Tea Party up and running as a genuine 3rd party - fracture the right wing enough and we'll be able to start a genuine left-wing part without worrying about morons taking over the world in the mean time.

(Also - lolz Sarah Pallin winning the presidency... George H. W. Bush has a better chance I think. ... Yeah, him.)

I welcome this third party republican wedge. Let's help them out by giving them a name and pretending that they already exist. Suggestions for a name?

The tea baggers of course!

it was the Tea Party?

The Christofascist Party? The Barking Fucking Nuts Party?

.

I think I love you for that answer.

If, as Glenn Beck is suggesting, Sarah Palin is positioning herself for a presidential bid with the formation of a third party, the Dems would have stronger chances at winning at the polls. A third party, comprised of the same types of nutjobs and non-performers like the GOP, will only end up splitting votes between themselves. This will further weaken the prospects of the GOP and the third party.

I say, let them do it!! The electorate will now have two groups of nutcases to throw into the political dumpster. Go for it!!

What a bunch of morons!!

Which is exactly why we progressives need to stay with the Democratic party.

at least for the time being... till we get the mess cleaned up and show the "people" what GOOD government is all about...

... and then, why ever would we need anOTHER damn party...?

Yep!
Evidently Beck knows nothing about the US electoral system. Palin running as a 3rd candidate would let Obama back in without him even trying.

If the 20% imbeciles vote for Jerry Springer Hall of famer Palin, who's left for Republicans?

There's always Newt Gingrich. Or Mitt Romney. >.> Neither of whom likely has a snowballs chance in hell even without a fracture in the party.

... Which is awesome.

Glen should be Palin's official media advisor.
I would pay to see that.

"They agreed that her upcoming book tour is a "make or break" situation regarding her political future -- but that if she fares well with the media, she'll be well positioned for 2012."

How many "make or break" moments does this chick get. As for faring well with the media, well, let's go to the videotape of the Katie Couric interviews. I rest my case.

But I don't think it's going to be the recipe for victory Glenn Beck thinks it will be.

Just the 25%-ers that were left supporting Bush

Great! Let her do it and split the republican party. I think Beck has political aspirations too. Maybe he sees himself on a ticket with her as her veep. I would not be one bit surprised if it happened.

Oh man, POP! Palin/Beck 2012? If that were to happen the world would be convinced that the U.S is just one big insane asylum (as if they didn't believe that already, of course!).

.

Hooboy, O'Really's head *would* finally explode if his arch nemesis Beck (you just know his ratings are freaking Billo out) would get to spend all that time sitting next to hot Palintail as a VP candidate. Rubbing up against her, giving spontaneous Merkel-backrubs, and those long, late night phone calls from hotel room to hotel room.

M-mmm. Secksay.

More verbal diarrhea from the guy who is bringing new meaning to the medical condition known as IBS. The guy is an absolute buffoon! No need to expound beyond that.

mm hmm. The Sara Palin bull Moose independent party will get a whopping 12% of the vote at best. Keep on rolling Sara you're the savior of the Democratic party.

The Shooting Wolves Party?

proof of the unending joy and importance of work and production in our wealth-based economy.

toast!! While the whole spectacle of the Palinistas trying to assemble a 3rd Party would be a sustained hoot for the country and world, it does throw a monkey wrench into the not-so-crazy idea that we might actually benefit from the options created by a multi-party environment. You have to admit that neither Party has been consistent in standing tall for the best of the country and that their are far too many nitwits on the Hill just doing the bidding of their major funders.

But without Palin, we will not have the badly needed comic relief that she consistently brings. The rest of her cohorts are either so loud and outrageous that they generate loathing or so inept as to not be worthy of the scorn they deserve.

Bottom line - we need the humor. Bring it, Sarah!!

Seazen: I agree -a multiparty system is a better deal for everyone, as you get to vote your conscience, rather than as a strategic binary, it's not going to happen in the USA given the present structure of its constitution.

The problems:

1. the "winner take all" nature of the electoral college.
2. the executive names the Supreme Court.

So: the executive is chosen by a winner take all system state by state. Therefore: any vote NOT for you hurts YOU. Any vote NOT for your opponent HELPS YOU. You get the most votes: you win ALL of the state's electoral Votes. This instantly scales to the national level: any vote NOT for the republicans helps the Dems and vice versa.

The Exuctive Branch CHOOSES the Judicial Branch. Yes, with consent of the congress, but disapproval of a candidate is far less frequent than approval.
Therefore: win the Executive, and you control 2/3 of the gov't.
Therefore: the two party system is a permanent feature of American Politics. The only "change" that can occur in the USA is through the following systems:

a. co-option of a party by a specific polity. Example: The Republicans went from Minarchist Imperialist Capitalists to Loony Tune dominionist crazies. The power brokers fled to the Democratic party... Change CAN come through the political system - it just may not be the change you want....
b. Secession. See "Civil War" for results.
c. Revolution. See "1917" for results in the Calcified Russian aristocracy.
d. Collapse and dissolution. The more likely scenario. Read Dimitry Orlov's book on the subject.

.

3. both the DNC and the RNC will join forces to fight off any other party. (see, nader and the green party in 2000)

That is the evolution from Republic to Empire like the Romans did.
This is the senario far more likely to happen if it has not really begun already with our trend toward Imperiolism in the last decades.

tweakerbelle in part d means the end of the empire.

It is already here.

for making my point.

@ReelBusy: Lincoln did a great thing in crushing the slave state of the Confederacy. It had to go - and as nasty as wag slavery is, chattel slavery is worse. The downside was that the Lincoln admin was so obviously coherent around the imperial project of North American capitalism. Their completion of the telegraph system to SF in 1861 was critically important in that regard. At that point, the grid had been filled - from there it was just a question of filling in the blanks.

The liberating party of Lincoln quickly became the imperialist party of McKinley less than 30 years later, and it's been downhill ever since. Even Mark Twain saw the insanity of the Imperialist Project, and was a member of the Anti-Imperialist League, and that was back in 1906.

He should have also helped construct an anti-Industrialist league, where the dismantling and elimination of industrialism could have been argued rationally. Instead, it was left to anarchists and luddites...

So, the USA is a gigantic continent spanning EMPIRE. It will, like all good Empires do, fall prey to the exigencies of Empire - decreasing resources, restive and over burdened citizens, and increasingly hostile neighbours. It will collapse.

And attend to these websites on a regular basis:

http://www.theoildrum.com

And this site, of course, even if it full of stupid liberal hippies.

And to that effect - why liberal environmentalists suck.

Keep your eyes on ENDCIV. it's closer than you think.

This gives China the oppurtunity to pre-emptively invade to save us all from the Paliban! Ni hao.

Sara Palin is a lying idiot, and most of America knows it. Should she run, and I fervently hope she does, if only for the entertainment value of seeing her make an ass of herself again as well as more blurbs about her trailer-trash family, she will only draw the votes of extreme-right nutcases away from the Repiglicans, thus ensuring a victory for the Democrats...I think my dog could beat her in an election (at least he's more honest) Thinking she has better than a snowball's chance in hell is living proof of how out-of-touch some people are.

Yes, Capnmike, I would quickly cast my vote for your dog than for that idiot. Try these slogan for his campaign:

"Vote for Scruffles. Life is too ruff right now"
"Palin? Wait one doggone minute!!"
"Scruffles for President. Let Palin walk the dog."

I'm thinking of running him for president. Of course, we'd lose the cat vote, but at least we'd have a president who didn't lie constantly and could really sink his teeth into the meaty problems facing us today.

Okay, Capnmike. Well, the slogans can still work. I'm sure there are many more that will come during Salty's run for office.

The good thing is, if he poops, someone will quickly clean up the mess. The mess can stimulate growth in the agriculture sector as well.

Dogs discovered long ago how well armed cats are. Truce happened. Go Salty!!

Dogs have owners. Cats have Staff.

Dogs think dogs are stupid people. Cats think people are stupid cats.

Dogs and people co-evolved in order to survive. Cats adopted us because we're filthy and attract tasty vermin.

Woof!

.

Because she will most definately lose

She'll take the base away from the main Puke candidate...victory Obama

and

the Paultards won't support her either. They are basically their own 4th party.

and get the boot in 2012 to be replaced by some other scam artist-charlatan . . "Some folks say Americas best days are behind us, but I say Americas best breakfasts is right ahead of us!"

(Cheers erupt)

I'm not saying the Dems will do well, I'm inclined to believe they'll lose some seats to Independents in the Bernie Sanders mold but I'd wager some that the Rethugs lose more seats then the Dems.

Rethugs will pick up seats. Keeping it under 20 is what we should hope for.

prolly the Anti-Christ comin' to usher Armageddon on 12/21/12...!?

of the campaign:
"I am working for the violent destruction of humanity to bring about the Rapture, Tribulation, and the Apocalypse!"

By all means let there be a third party, the Palinistas can draw all the fundies under their little tent. They might even do 20%, given that barely more than half of us even vote.

But also let there be a fourth party, of genuine progressives and socialists. Let us hope and work so that it may win.

Maybe Kucinich will lead the way. A LEADER must come forward.
Then the more the turnout, the better the chances, is my prediction.

Leave the Corporate Republicrats in the dust bin of history.

you were correct, but given the stakes, I don't think it's going to happen. see my reply above to Seazen.

Read Orlov's book on collapse. I think that scenario is MUCH more likely than a multiiparty USA.

I'm onto Orlov although I haven't read his book (yet). I have listened to several of his presentations.

The parallels are clear.

You are right that the Electoral College presents a stacked deck.

But my key sentence was:

Let us hope and work so that it may win.

Hope, as a theme, certainly worked for the current resident Pope of Hope, media and oligarch sponsored creation that he is.

He had bundles of cash for the Madison avenue approach.

It is difficult to get around that approach. Mind control in a democratic society et al.

There are many hurdles to overcome.

The greatest truth is that the capitalists have destroyed the ecology and plundered the planet.

And they have plundered us as a country. We will be doing triage on the deck of the Titanic until she goes down.

He is out to make money; he is using the same business blueprint as Jimmy Swaggart. He has a devoted following of two million who will buy every book, news letter and whatever he sales. Each sermon must keep them wanting more. This is good money he is not going to be stopping any time soon. Take comfort in the fact that 80% of his believers are goof balls. Try not to spend so much time on him, it like picking on the mentally challenged, just keep him away from any sharp tools

get 2% of the popular vote.

The Tea Party could run on the anti-oxidant platform.

I'm starting to feel a little bit sorry for sane republicans. No wait, that was just a gas pain.

O'Lielly has a perverted hard on for Sarah, so he will be stalking her soon too.

How would they mix falafel and moose meat?

is will we even be a country by 2012. Or just an illusion of what we once were that the Media maintains.

.

of Britain.

as accurate as the rest of the garbage that he passes off as opinion. But there is an opportunity for some student to sell Palin a few newspaper and magazine subscriptions before 2012. That way she can be ready for another Couric interview. Has she gotten back to her yet with her answer from the interview in 2008?

Can you imagine the glazed eyes peeking from every flier?

)O(

Zombies don't eat brains or any kind of meat

Just some kind of bland mush.

)O(

I wonder if there's ever been a scene in a Haitian sugar mill refectory, where the zombies are eating their breakfast mush, and one goes to the front and says:

"Please sir, I want some more..."

Their brains are eaten by some sort of transference wave produced by such stalwart media outlets like faux.

but unless the Republicans and the Democrats wake up, a third party will win -- beck

win in 2012? doubtful. extreeeeeeeeemely doubtful. but, i would be happy to see a third party make the race more interesting.

beck's comment, if the duopoly continues down the neoliberal path they have been stumbling down for decades, might actually come true in the not-too-distant future though.

On Billo's mind: "And then I'll take the other hand with the falafel thing..."

On Glennie's mind: "Teabagging will help a third party win - and help save America!"

First off, a Palin third-party would take away Republican votes, as no sane Dem would vote for her.

Secondly, a Palin Presidency would be disastrous for America. Worse than Bush.

A Palin presidency would be disastrous for the people of America but not for cetain business and military interests.

or some buffoon mentions her as a possible candidate in 2012, I just picture her singing that song from the Wizard of Oz: "If I Only Had a Brain!"

I'm no brain surgeon, but I do believe that it's a fact, the number of cells in your head is pretty much fixed at birth. Sarah has already proven many times over that she got shorted on that deal, and a couple years a' studyin' up ain't gonna make her Einstein or even a Dubya clone.

But, what else are Beck and Billy gonna jaw about?? There's no one in the Repug/reich-wing who's showing any promise: Boner? Mitch? Steele? Ensign? Paw-lenty? Fuckabee?

Or, how 'bout Lizzie Cheney??? Yew betcha'. That'd be a great ticket for any new party = Palin & Cheney.
Eww-ww-w - that'd be fun?!

.

Let's not forget a Bush (Jeb)/Cheney (Dickless) ticket. Maybe not in '12, but '16?

They're getting louder AND LOUDER....!!!!!

And frankly, I WISH SARAH WOULD RUN AS A 3RD PARTY CANDIDATE.

She would have to go shopping again.
And drag the kids with her.
And go through all that stuff again.
AND SPLIT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. HOPEFULLY SO BADLY THAT THEY'RE OUT OF POWER IN THE HOUSE, SENATE AND IN THE WHITE HOUSE FOR A GOOD 20 OR 30 YEARS.

Then, when historians come back and ask what happened to the Party of No, they can also ask what happened to Sarah's Party...
the party of WTF!!!!!!!!!!

As for Glenn Beck, he's the one constant in the universe....
as in the Paul Simon song..."still crazy after all these years..."

I don't normally care much for the trash talk, but his word against hers could be particularly damning. What does he have to lose? He's already lost his pants....

Especially because Levi is saying that the Palins are not allowing him to see his child, and he is going to court.

Discovery would be a hoot!

Sidenote: Why do I have to read this story in a British newspaper? I put the phrase, "levi-johnston-sarah-palin-custody" into Google news, and got no US stories. Pathetic.

Since these people are so stuck in the past slavenly worshipping their golden calf St. Ronnie, why not recycle an old name from the past:

The Know-Nothing party.

www.en-wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_Nothing

Lou Dobbs could be their VP. And the name truthfully says their political platform.

.

Damn right on that one.

Guess what their slogan will be: "WHAT?"

ala Sgt. Schultz---I know nussink. Or ignorance is bliss.

Please, please, please let that all come true.

if the repugs split into two parties then they will have a snowballs chance in hell to win anything. they are already less than 20% of the electorate, you cant win with those numbers anywhere in the usa. good let them beat themselves. obama for another 7 years, then more progressives, and then you will have the super majority in congress.

now if we can only get our reps to stop taking corporate cash....
the lobbys are really the ones screwing us, not beckinstein....

You've never been right about anything before but let's hope you're right about Caribou Barbie making a a run.

This buffoon just keeps them coming. He must have a staff working full time to come up with this shit that spews out of his whore's-mind. What a dumb, soul-less ass hole.

I pity his family...having to be associated with this pathetic, embarrassing turd.

Funny, I thought she was positioning herself for the Prussian troops to invade.

CNN surely has (seemingly) devoted an inordinate amount of time to her as well. Something doesn't smell good...

)O(

Her hygiene habits?

is Palin, there will never be another. Perhaps that is what stinks. Them old white men mean business!

)O(

What becky is doing is calling for the death of the republican party

So one would think it behooves them to distance themselves not just from him

But his "network."

is that "moderates" from both parties (Blue Dogs, Snowe, etc...) will form a party and stake out the middle by saying they left their parties because both parties had grown too partisan. If they were to play it right, they could have a huge impact, possibly stealing elections and voters and leaving the left and right out in the cold.

The worst part is that people like Joe LIEberman and Newt Gingrich would end up looking like moderates by comparison. Gingrich is positioning himself as a moderate right now as he battles the hardcore righties in their party. And LIEberman could easily say he doesn't tow the party line. The media and the voters would eat it up.

)O(

I've never really looked at it from that angle, but it sounds feasible.

The problem is history will see Obama's post-partisanship as the spark the lights this fire.

"moderate" mantle. People who do not want to think too hard about the issues vote for moderates to convince themselves that they "did the right thing." Calling oneself a "moderate" as to be made a bad thing to say. Moderates are people too weak minded to think for themselves and too cowardly to choose a side in any debate.

but a large number of voters see themselves as moderates.

Weak and cowardly. That's what moderates are, right? Make them ashamed of themselves. They ARE weak and cowardly. Or lazy. Make them pick one to describe themselves.

Lately, I have been asking people what exactly do health insurance companies do for the money that they take. Not one single person has had an answer. Not one. And it is because the insurance companies do NOTHING except siphon off money for themselves. Brains must be engaged. People have to think about these things, or we are all doomed to corporate governance.

force people to either be left or right with no in-between if that's where they decide to be? Interesting idea. I'm sure we'll win over lots of people like that.

I didn't say being a moderate, I was talking about lazy, weak, and cowardly people who won't think about the issues using the easy way out by saying and believing, "I'm a moderate." I stand by my assertion.

)O(

They either say they're moderate or independent, as in "vote the man, not the party."

someone sick of both parties.

in between.

Republicrat Party.
Democan Party.
Psychopath Party.

they'll call themselves the Centrist Party.

More than likely, the Dems will attempt to fill that "center-right" space through folks like Specter and Lieberman and attempting to coax people like Snowe to switch parties. Gingrich, on the other hand, will simply succumb to the rush and pull himself into the Teabagger loony wing.

In short, it will be progressives and the Left, not the "center-right" who will be needing a third party of their own, after they get thrown out by the new DLC/ConservaDem/New Dem alliance.

Anthony

it's the same effect. The people on the left and right will end up with smaller parties and the people in the middle will end up winning most of the races.

I have been meaning to ask you--why are you still in your robe, even after lunch?

)O(

I'm skyclad.

Has Glen Beck replaced Geraldo as Loofah man's new boyfriend? I gues you have to be a COMPLETE sychophant to get a regular gig on Billo's show.

... only if he wins his war against Net Neutrality...

Dierdre Scozzafava just pulled out of the race for the 23rd Congressional District in New York. Sadly, the Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, should have clear sailing now. With Scozzafava in the race it looked like Democratic candidate might have been able to win the seat.

You can almost feel the shockwaves rolling through the GOP.

It was said Murphy didn't have a chance against Tedisco, but they were wrong. It's not over until it's over.

This is going to have a huge impact on the GOP. People like Palin won and people like Gingrich lost. Just wait and see.

See Joe Bruno felony trial starting this coming Monday. That district was John Sweeney's home district. See what happened to him? What is that saying about counting chickens?

)O(

Don't count your chickens before Alice Cooper bites their necks?

.

if Palin were to announce a run in 2012?

Comedians all over the country.

Run! Sarah! Run!

she is much too lazy... too secretive...
she just wants the attention, and the CASH...

i don't believe she REALLY wants to be president of the USA...
maybe of her fan club...

.

I don't think Palin wants any part of the responsibilities of being President, nor do I think she has the stomach for the personal attacks while running.

I think Levi nailed it. She's in it for the cash and the attention and she can get both without running for office.

Wouldn't Ron Paul be a more likely 3rd party nominee?

....because considering how much the wingnutters are consolidating their control of the grass roots GOP, they won't need a third party movement.

You have heard that the "moderate" Republican just dropped out of the NY-23 House race, right??

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/...

Sounds to me like GOP "moderates" are declaring defeat and ceding their party to the crazies.

And with the meltdown about to ensue within the Democratic Party as "the Center" regains control and punks "the Left" under the bus, all bets are now off in 2010 and 2012.

Heck of a job there, Barack and Rahm.

Anthony

member? And BTW, Owen is a big Blue Dog. Having the conservative wing nut win may allow Steele to brag, but what it really will be is a fiasco. Just watch.

And this could be sarah's campaign song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JBeZUwhAqM

This mormon( I mean moron...too many "m"'s in that word) Is never, never, never right and now I gotta believe....? Oh for Christ sake, just get rid of this cryin'clown.

)O(

I was raised a Mormon.

for a country whose citizens have been reduced to "human assets".

Beck nominates himself as the third party candidate, his zombie army ready to put him over the top... Hahahahahahaha!

)O(

BwaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!

*takes deep breath*

BwaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!

The GOP and TEA Party will split the conservative vote and we Progressives can rule forever!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Was that laugh too evil?

Exactly which party will the progressives control?

Not the Republicrats.

Nah

You didn't add the "Muah" to the beginning.

Was becky the kind of kid that would ignore what his family said and put plastic bags over his head a lot?

he didn't leave the bag on long enough.

The only other pundit out there flogging for Palin at this point is Chris Matthews, who gets a tingle up his leg for her too. On the other hand, I still can't figure how an extreme right-winger can win nationally.
Maybe they think the women of America will flock to her. They didn't in 2008 and I see no reason yet why they would in 2012.

Finally, if tea baggers are so intent on forming a third party, I say, go for it.

)O(

I'm into flogging...

On the other hand, I still can't figure how an extreme right-winger can win nationally.

Ronald Reagan

)O(

I don't think ray gunn was such a hard-right winger

He was more of a Goldwaterite

But he was the figurehead for a pool of people who were that surrounded him.

Reagan not an extreme right winger?

You will never in one million years hear the end of that from me.

You should go lie down and have someone take your pulse, if you have a pulse.

Reagan was insanely right wing, AND corrupt.

I guess you weren't paying attention to what was going on in Central America, his strong arming of the Unions and breaking the Traffic Controllers Union, and his subversion of the constitution, and geez- where do I begin?

dude - Alice is right - you must be asleep or something.

I agree with ysbaddaden, Reagan was barely in control of anything except his fake smile during his presidency.
He was not an extreme rightwinger, he was right wing, but he was also dumb as a stump and going senile from the beginning.
He was easy to use as the nice face for those behind the scenes, since he was such a shallow individual in the first place.
And to top it off, he was an actor. They fed him the script, he read it.

I don't really see Reagan and Bush II any differently.
Except for the fact that Bush needed an ear piece to help him with the lines.
They were both self assured, right wing, empty suit dickhead simpletons who were easy to control with a little flattery.
The fact that neither of them cared about anyone but themselves really helped.
I think they both liked the attention (and feeling of superiority) more than they cared about any of the positions that rattled around in their brains.

shorter version: Reagan sucked, and Bush sucked, but they were both (just) willing figureheads, the happy and smug winners of popularity contests.

You need the majority of the centrist/independants to win the big one.

However, Dems fuck around and go with a trigger over a public otion, they could loose their base.

The Democrats are the right wing, the Republicans are the ultra-right wing.

Who are the centrists?
