Seems that Sarah Palin isn't the only right-winger out there trying to convince the world that the "death panels" actually exist. Indeed, as Media Matters notes, there's a whole bandwidth of wingnuts out there trying to revive the notion.
One of these is the Troll Who Lives Under the Bridge And Sucks Your Toes, aka Dick Morris, who was on The O'Reilly Factor earlier this week with fill-in host Monica Crowley:
Morris: Look, Monica, it's one thing to load a big bill with pork. That's what the stimulus package was. But to load a health-care bill, where Americans are seriously worried that this is gonna destroy the health care their parents get, that this is gonna lead to government-imposed euthanasia, where they'll say, 'No, you can't have this annual mammogram, because I know it might save your life, but it costs too much.' 'No, you can't have this drug for colon cancer, because the drug we're going to let you take isn't as good as this one, but we can't afford it.' When we come to those kind of euthanasia-like decisions, to learn that the reason the Senate approved this was some little bitty payoff that went on to some insurance company that gave you a campaign contribution -- that kind of tawdry stuff for this kind of magnitude of deformity on the system is enough to drive people crazy -- me included.
I've always said that anyone who takes Dick Morris's advice deserves everything they get, because the man is such a font of misinformation. That includes a lot of intentional disinformation, promoting provably false "facts" that unhinge the people who absorb this crap. As we can see.

'No, you can't have this annual mammogram, because I know it might save your life, but it costs too much.' 'No, you can't have this drug for colon cancer, because the drug we're going to let you take isn't as good as this one, but we can't afford it.'
Gee, where have I heard that before? Could it be that that's exactly what a great many people complain they hear from, oh I don't know...THE INSURANCE COMPANIES???
Isn't that special?

Whatever goes on, these Republipricks will fight it. We can expect them to lie so there's no entertainment value any more to their silly fear mongering theories, while the damage to the government continues. Just accept that there are media enemies within that support and harbor them. The real enemies of state are the ones that pay for and support radical Republiscum - they are not interested in democracy.
Notice this lying shill is yapping on POX Theatre - POX, the propaganda division of the "all for me" parties of America.

Death panels do exist!
They have for years. Every insurance company has one or more!
wearing open-toe shoes to get the Dick up to his maximum slavering state. I can understand Morris, if he wasn't outrageous he'd be failing selling used cars somewhere. Crawley's well-educated, at least on paper, she knows better. My only explanation is that she's chosen to whore-out her intellect wrapped in a mini-skirt.
Why all the fuss about the "youth in Asia"?
I think Dick Morris has toe-nails on the brain.
"I know that there are people who do not love their fellow
man, and I hate people like that! " ~ Tom Lehrer (1928 - )
I thought he was talking about the Iraqi war or how New Orleans was handled after Katrina.
Dick loves to fuss about Youths in Asia, are you kidding me?
Is that Toe sucker Morris is a good for nothing lying sack of shit.
I am proud to call him a republican!
Republican
Ya, what's worst than a Republiscum, a Republcan't, a Rethuglican, a a Teabaglican, a Teabaglican't, Republiscum, a Repukelican, and a Talibanican all combined? Why, a Republican of coarse!

He was Bill Clinton's main adviser. Look what that led too!
Dick first!
the hundreds of ways American tax-payers are routinely fleeced--by our own government; by foreign countries like Dubai that are gobbling up American interests and spending millions to influence government decisions and American public opinion; by Washington lobbying firms that are pushing the agendas of corrupt foreign dictators on Capitol Hill; and by hedge-fund billionaires collecting huge tax breaks courtesy of the IRS."
Dick sure is a hoot isn't he. Facts be damned full tilt lies ahead. Lie, lie, and then lie a little more. Then lie and say you never said those lies. The lies then feed on themselves. Tell a lie, deny lying, then lie again. Circular isn't it?
I'm going to be very interested once there's a Bill in place just how "correct" all these Republican fear-mongerers are, be it Sarah Palin or Dick Morris.
On a more logical, rational level (for now): Since every industrialized country has some form of government health care (all of them with a stronger gvt role), we'd expect to see these death panels and euthanasia, etc, operating there. Hmm....funny how you can't find them.
And if the health care in these countries was so repressive, so frightening, so bad, you'd expect the satisfaction level to be quite low. Certainly below ours. But with the narrow exception of Germany (a bunch of curmedgeons), every major country's populace gives their health care system a higher satisfaction rating than we do ours.
Just some things for the scared populace to consider. Our job is to make them confront these rational
realities.
No kiddin - no country is yearning to change to OUR effed-up system.
Ours should be the system everybody wants - not the other way around.

can see it. Palin's brain is in a jar, pickled next to Hitler's in a Munich Hofbrau.... or was that Dallas?
Their brains would both look like brillo pads - chaos and confusion.

What's frustrating is that the fear-mongerers don't have to worry about facts. All they need to do is to create the perception of reality in the minds of the dimwits that believe them on anything.
Fighting "perception" is like proving a negative. Hard to do.
Expect the evil GOP to continue the perception game all the way to the 2010 elections.
Very perceptive . . .

yep. except they do need to worry about facts because facts are hard, so they spin knotted up webs of deceit to navigate around and through the facts without ever actually facing them. Those poor, poor bastards and their fuzzy brain heads! Get them lithium and counselling and hope for the best. [oh and let's not vote them into office any more - that's how we stay away from stupid]
as long as we don't vote we might as well all be wearing t-shirts that read "I'm with stupid".

Morris became an adviser to the Bill Clinton administration after Clinton was elected president in 1992. Morris encouraged Clinton to pursue third way policies of triangulation that combined traditional Republican and Democratic proposals, rhetoric, and issues to achieve maximum political gain and popularity. He worked as a Republican strategist before joining the Clinton administration, where he helped Clinton recover from the 1994 midterm elections by convincing the President to adopt Republican policies.
when millions upon millions of Americans get that tax return form and it says . . "Name of Health Insurance Provider" (* Mandatory)
I'm amazed at how many people are totally clueless about this so called "Health Care Reform".
I would bet half the country doesn't even care and haven't even been following this. When the hammer drops on their heads that should interesting. "Duh whats this? I'm supposed to have insurance?"
..is really the epitomy of a pile of shit.
...I'm sure he would say just about anything.
It's today's health insurance companies that use preexisting conditions and other technicalities to deny coverage to people who need it. It's today's insurers who charge outrageous premiums and include high deductibles as part of the coverage. It's today's insurers that make actuarial calculations about how soon a patient will die in deciding whether to tie his claims up in red tape, hoping that he'll die before they have to pay.
"Death panels?" The actual death panels are the boards of directors and executives of today's health insurance companies.
Only when we stop treating health care like a commodity and treat i like any other service -- police, fire, water filtration, roads, schools -- will people start getting the care they deserve. And when that happens, it will be over Dick Morris' objections and the objections of others like him, who are interested in "I've got mine" and profit as the only motivator.
Here's what tea-baggers think it means:

from companies that provide no "product" and are basically evil. Morris is an ahole.
The corporations should get a small "clerk's" allowance for the work that they do provide, such as the bit of documentation that's needed, but that's about it. Since they won't be screening each client for eligibility the paperwork can be reduced to a single page.
Other than that they just need to keep the money computers open so the money can keep pouring into their vaults.
To work properly the corporations must be muzzled to the degree that they are virtual government agencies. At that point it will be the same as a single payer option except for the added complication of the "muzzle" and all those competing agencies that will each try to deceive us into thinking that they are cheaper, or better, or more secure than their competitors.

A few years back, while he was working for Clinton - okay, maybe more than a few - Mary Matlin said "Dick Morris gives pond scum a bad name."
saying that Morris gives pond scum a bad name. She should know.
Do the Democrats realize they 'crafted' a bill that justifies all the Crazy Party's fearmongering? And that it will be used against them one day not long from now?
There are lots of analogies that come to mind, probably the most popular is that of Charlie Brown, Lucy, and that goddamn football. Another might be the Crazy Party as Br'er Rabbit, pleading to not be thrown into the briar patch. But the more I think about it, the Democrats are really more like Wile E. Coyote.
And the Wile E. analogy reminds me of a quote from Stephen Hawking:
...that the GOP wouldn't have used to monger fear? Public Option? Republican response: "The Democrats are raising taxes!" Single payer? "Democrats raising taxes!" National Health comparable to that of the Brits? "Democrats are socialists, and they're raising taxes!"
BTW, your user name still cracks me up, Chris!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.
...but I doubt if this current crop of Democrats could pull it off due to chronic spinal deficiency. "Yes, it's true. Your taxes are going up by around $400 a month, but you'll no longer have to write that $1200 check to your insurance company." Only 'crazy people' like Kucinich, Sanders, or Grayson would ever dare say something that ridiculous in public.
Isn't Harry Reid supposed to be the Majority Leader? Someone should ask him what he thinks a 'leader' is. It's not someone who listens to the group, and then says "OK, this is what they say they want!"
"It matters if you just don't give up."

My father in law, a Medicare insuree, had liver cancer and was denied measures such as surgery and transplantation due to his age (79) and overall health. The cancer started in his prostate five years previous, and he received surgery and treatment for it at that time. In the interim, he had a heart valve successfully replaced. It is entirely appropriate for these decisions to be made, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if insurers have guidelines about when further measures should be withheld in the interest of maximizing quality of life and minimizing suffering.
I trust the government far and above for-profit health insurers to have the patient's care in mind rather than the insurer's bottom line. It is clear to all that for-profit insurers have no qualms about denying care and canceling policies.

Everytime I watch this fucking little toad it reminds me of why I chose Obama over Hillary. This little creton tells me so much about who the Clinton's really are to have something like this as a personal advisor. This is pure scum and he needs to go back to the bottom of the barrel where the Clinton's scraped his ass from.
Dick Morris LOATHES Hillary Clinton! He never misses a chance to call her names and accuse her of everything up to and including murder.
Youth in Asia - why wouldn't we support young people in China? On a more serious note - I despise this fat prick. He reminds me of the things you'd find in the woods when you turned an old rotten log over.
Imagine looking down watching while this grotesque, bloated, unhealthy man is slurping and slobbing all over your toes.
I don't like money that much.
How can an asshole like this sleep at night?
Scaring peoploe with the very tactics insurance companies use today....there should be a special hell for these people.
They'll never publically admit single-payer is the best way to PROVIDE the mammograms, cancer drugs, etc. we'll require in the future. Another thing these "experts" will admit is the degree to which money has corrupted their morals, ethics, and values.
with an ounce of common sense listen or believe anything any neocon nazi corporate fascist says. It's all crap and anyone with an IQ over 50 should know it.
Closet door, meet Dick. Dick, meet the closet door. Any questions?
Just another right winger and fan of Joseph Goebbels . The scum simply have no conscience .
Insanity , it is what it is , there is no understanding it .
I wish Morris was right. There are to many people on this planet and we need to lighten the load. Let's start with conservatives.
I realize dick's toe-sucking is a funny thing to riff on, but really, don't tar all shrimpers because of this guy. Toe sucking is the BEST thing he's ever done. If you have a problem with toe-sucking it's probably because you have gross feet!
O_o
Goodnight, Frau Blücher
Not a single detail of what is in the bill, just more fear baiting. Why can't anyone at Fox have an honest debate anymore, what is wrong with these people?
Goodnight, Frau Blücher
from this disgusting prostitute-to-sucking little weasel. Another paid Republican corporate killer. Lie for $ and f*ck it people die as a result. Disgusting, low piece of filth. F*ck him, f*ck all conservative Republicans and f*ck the Democratic cowards too. Damn I'm so mad I have to stop reading the "news".
Man , I can identify completely . Am to the point that it's like why do this to yourself , the country has gone / is going to hell , nothing you can do about it so abandon ship and as much as possible avoid politics and the news , but then another voice says why make it easier for the bad guys ? Can at least be an irritant and a pain in their ass .
Insanity , it is what it is , there is no understanding it .
All I can see when I look at Dick Morris' face is the guy who tried to impress his prostitute friend by having her listen in on his convo with Pres. Clinton. Just like whenever I see David Vitter, I imagine him in diapers, Larry Craig in a "wide stance", Limbaugh going to the Dominican Republic with a giant bottle of viagra, and Bill Bennett--a gambling addict--writing the book "The Moral Compass." These are morally bankrupt, broken humans have no business pontificating on public virtues and policy on national television.
Another republican "Dick." This cannot be a coincidence.
If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.
Short on brains long on wind and as usual talks like a 18 month old child.
Much like his party of HATE, this Clown can't say anything constructive as he hasn't been to the last 3days of instruction and coached for 8 hours on what to say, so we get the same brain numbing blathering and worthless time consuming rhetoric.
Will the REAL reporters step forward and show these Entertainment interviews how to block these idiots.
Way too many for the good of America.
What the hell has happened to the American people?
