Epic Fail: Griff Jenkins' feeble ACORN ambush stunt for Beck falls utterly flat

We already knew that Griff Jenkins' attempt to ambush ACORN officials earlier this week on behalf of Glenn Beck didn't exactly produce any scintillating video moments -- except when Adam Green pinned his ears to the wall for pretending to be a legitimate journalist. (As though any legitimate journalist would bring a prop intended to humiliate his interview subjects.)
So Jenkins went on Beck's show last night and presented what little decent video he had. As you can see, no one was interested in helping his little stunt along, and most of the people who actually talked to him did little to advance the narrative he wanted to create.
Verdict: Fail. Epic Fail.
Get real Glen, honest people can be investigated as well. What happened to due process?

Changing the name and rebranding..... reminds me of something else, um, oh, what is it? Oh yes: "Blackwater" - the other kind of crusader for a "better" tomorrow - the brand-name killers who turned over a new leaf in name only ("Xe" still sounds depraved to me). Interesting how the Right invariably deflects attention in the most obvious way, by accusing the Left of doing things for which they themselves are far more deeply -criminally- culpable. Try VOTER fraud v. ELECTION fraud, for instance.

I love how Griff starts spouting off about "the First Amendment," as if the First Amendment guarantees that the Federalist Society must allow the Daily Kos and Think Progress to attend and cover its awards ceremonies. (I learned about the First Amendment in Junior High School.) Meanwhile Glenn Beck is busy on Fox worrying that ACORN is involved in a massive conspiracy to overthrow our government and change our way of life.
Today's Beck show had a tree trunk representation which allowed Beck to mention Bill Ayers, SDS, The Weather Underground, ACORN, Obama and, you know, "tie it all together for you," as he does so well. Does Beck know that 1968 was over 40 years ago? Beck's smug schlub shtick is ever so tedious. I'm starting to think he's actually moronic enough to believe some of the stuff he says.
1st off, That Tie! Geeeezzz. Would someone tell Gennis's mom to dress him better. A Pink shirt and a Green tie? Oyyy!

They air "fox and friends" daily at my local gym (it's Georgia, after all) and I dunno, I'm not a violent person, but something about these "people" just raises my "put a fist in their suckhole" response to code red levels. Beck, O'reiley, etc. have the same sort of effect. You have to be a special sort of hateful, stupid and scared person to actually ENJOY this tripe.

Where was this disdain, skepticism or whatever when Dubya was touting the virtues of spreading American-style Freedom throughout the Middle East (or world)??? Even though this interview segment has no journalistic merit, it still accomplishes its purpose. We need to look at the overall context of the piece. Glen Beck gets to make countless sarcastic and misleading (if not outright false) remarks about ACORN and the prominent Democratic pols who attended the event. He gets to make condescending and belittling faces about these people before the camera. Even though no one being interviewed had really anything to say, the interview segments were presented in a way that made the interview subjects seem evasive, like ACORN has something to hide.
So, for the FOX News wingnut viewers, this piece served its purpose quite well. Though of no journalistic merit, it served the purpose of reinforcing the distorted biases of its audience. Remember, journalistic merit is not the primary objective of FOX News. Furthering the right-wing agenda is. In this respect, it was another job well done.
