Chris Matthews had on the Ron Paul supporter who showed up with a handgun to the New Hampshire town hall on health care led by President Obama. On Hardball yesterday, he really laid into the man -- a Kramer lookalike named William Kostric -- with some tough questions about just what the hell he hoped to accomplish:

Matthews: Why did you bring a gun to a meeting with the President of the United States, given the violent history of this country with regard to presidents and assassinations? Why did you bring a gun to a public event with the president? You know the history of this country. If you love this country and its history, you know we've had a problem with people with guns and presidential events. Why did you bring a gun to an event with the president?

... OK, you brought a sign that says, 'The tree of liberty has to be watered with the blood of tyrants,' and you're carrying a goddamn gun at a presidential event. I think those things make people wonder what you're about.

Matthews gets to the core point eventually:

Matthews: I'm gonna ask you: What do you bring to this discussion about health care? By bringing a gun, and that sign that you quote Jefferson from, what does that bring to a debate that this country's engaged in -- and we're looking at your gun right now, and your sign on there -- what did you -- and it's loaded, you pointed that out -- what are you doing to help this debate?

The best that Kostric can do is babble incoherently -- rather Kramerlike, actually -- about "showing the other end of it" so you can "pull people in your direction." He manages to finally blurt out that he actually thinks everyone would have been safer at the Town Hall event if everyone there had been packing heat.

Of course, that begs the questions of whether President Obama would have been safer, doesn't it?

Especially with crackpots like this in the crowd.

POW!
Matthews! You need to do MORE interviews like this!
Then maybe your street cred will go up.

I don't know....I've seen Senators do worse with Chris....much worse. The guy didn't break the law, he had every right to be there....like it or not.

But I do like how Chris pointed out the rest of that quote from Jefferson. There is a little douchebaginess there from the guy if he is only going to use part of it.

The Washington State Republican official of the 1980's who turned into a serial killer.

A referendum on single payer health care insurance. If you support single payer sign these

http://******/HR676

http://******/single_payer_ross

replace the ****** with B I T . L Y

We ARE losing our rights. Why has a top priority of Obama, Constitutional scholar that he is, not been to restore habeas corpus, the FOUNDATION of human rights and liberties that goes back to the Magna Carta?

... he just did not have any right to intimidate people.

And yes, when you are toting a gun in a peaceful crowd the whole "self defense" argument sort of gets thrown out of the window.

Isn't that the purpose of a concealed weapons permit?

I'm not saying this guy was doing the right thing. I just don't like condemning a civilian on national TV who hasn't broken the law while there are serious crooks Matthews goes easy on.

Yeah - like Tom DeLay

permit to carry...as long as holstered

and i have been to nh more than a few times and have never seen anyone walking down the street with a holstered fire arm

except for cops

In

NH you don't need a permit to carry openly, I don't believe, except for a loaded weapon in a vehicle. You do need one to conceal though. My state you need a license to transport a handgun with very few exceptions. But with the license you can carry however you like. FL requires a permit to carry a loaded weapon except in a vehicle but it must be concealed, you may not open carry at all. The laws are different depending on the state you are in. Here is a good site to check to compare the various states.
http://www.handgunlaw.us/

WHO GIVES A BLEEP WHAT THE LAWS ARE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE FLORIDA OR TIMBUKTOO????!!!!

I don't believe this bozo was in any imminent danger going to a town hall meeting about health care reform
especially when the President of the United States of America A YES BLACK BOOGIE MAN would be present.

The GOP and cronies, special interests, INSURANCE COMPANIES PEOPLE LIKE DICK ARMEY AND OTHERS HIDING UNDER THE GUISE OF FREEDOM WORKS, 60 PLUS ETC.,have people @ fever pitch with innuendos, false info, encouraging the socialism communist hitler nazi socialism blah blah blah.

When heaven forbid a President, Congressman, Senator, or other congressional representative is assassinated then come back & talk to us about the laws of New Hampshire.

I find it quite astonishing that the RELIGIOUS RIGHT, HOLIER THAN THOU, GOD BLESS AMERICA PARTY OF REPUBLICANS HAVE GONE TO SUCH EXTREMES TO NOT ALLOW ORDINARY CITIZENS TO VOICE THEIR CONCERNS COMMENTS WITHOUT A BIMBO WITH A LOADED GUN, AND DROWING OUT ANYONE WHO OPPOSES THEIR VIEWS. . .

GOD BLESS AMERICA . ..WE SURELY NEED IT . ..

[PLEASE BACK OFF THE CAPS LOCK-SITEMONITOR]

assume law abiding citizens and the LEO's care about the laws in their respective states.

I know the man didn't break the law.
But CLEARLY he's agitating and intimidating, trying to start shit.
And that sign he was carrying...I don't care what anyone says, that was a thinly veiled threat if I ever saw one.

Mr. Kostric is a fairly new resident of New Hampshire. He has only lived there for about a year, coming from comfy Scottsdale, Arizona as part of the movement to concentrate so called "libertarians" in New Hampshire to influence voting.

http://www.myspace.com/keysersoce

Method to their madness.

Since Mr. Kostric is fairly new to New Hampshire & feels so threatened by a town HALL meeting on Health Reform, I'd round up a posse to load 'em up and get him to them thar PARTS far away IN A TIME MACHINE TO THE WILD WILD WEST @ least while OUR PRESIDENT departs New Hampshire.

WHATJATHUNK 'BOUT THAT??!!LIBERTARIAN???!!!

and I sure don't agree with a lot of stuff that Tweety does (especially his tendency to constantly have that racist pig Pat Buchannon on as a pundit), but the heightened emotional climate and the intense hatred displayed in these town halls against the President has given legitimacy to the fear of an assasination attempt or just general mayhem that accompanies the possession of a weapon (legal or not) that can kill people with a single shot. This isn't the Wild West anymore.

This isn't the Wild West anymore.

You mean...not yet.

but true. There is a great (and frightening) article by Sara Robinson on Truthout and Media Matters, as well as several other progressive websites entitled "Is the US on the Brink of Fascism?" that you really should read. Today's events are textbook in the lead-up to a fascist state---and she says at this point, we may not be able to reverse the trend.

This could be reversed with a quickness.
But saying exactly how, would definitely get my comment deleted, and me possibly banned.
But with the right equipment and personnel, this could be stopped in one night. Strike them all simultaneously and it's over.

Now you're sounding like one of Them! (But if it's a good plan, I might agree!).

It's a simple plan.
Consider our "problem" as a hydra of sorts...cut off all the heads at once, and the body dies.
I know, I know. Teh boooshies used that phrase a lot, but it's applicable in this case.

what a hydra is? I thought they might think it is a big water bottle to quench their thirst! (tehe)

It's got electrolytes!!!

and TeeHee! My kinda refreshment!

The astroturf teabagging birthers are hoping for a Kent State type incident, involving their own.

No experienced gun owner would pull a stunt like that - this guy is devoid of common sense. typical gun nut with no firearms training - he thinks being able to recite the second commandment gives him all the gun education he needs. Dam' fool, is what he is, and a dangerous one, at that.

He had a leg holster- now this is really macho Rambo looking, but it reduces the control you have over the gun. IOW, anybody can come up from behind and grab the gun in a second. You NEVER wear a gun to a crowded place, in such a open manner, where is it possible to have your gun taken from you.

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

I agree with you on how those holsters look, but from a retention stand point, it is no easier to disarm than any other open carry methods except perhaps a shoulder holster. And if its that easy to disarm someone why do the police open carry?

I believe that is the second amendment, not the second commandment. Replacing the second amendment with the second commandment would be, well, unconstitutional.

I am quite sure that concealed permits are/were not design to protect people trying to intimidate others... which is what this asshole was doing. Of course he is too chicken shit and I am sure he's going to cry about how his "constitutional" rights were abused.

concealed carry was illegal and you needed a permit to do so, the theory behind that was that only criminals needed to conceal. No permit needed to open carry, which is still the law in NH.

the security requirements of the venue, which most likely was prohibiting guns in the vicinity of the president. Besides, NH requires licensed open carry.

a license to possess a loaded handgun in a vehicle, or concealed on your person. Open carry is allowed on the streets without a license.
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/XII/...
And the person was not carrying at the venue the president was going to be at.

Sorry, when you carry a gun at a presidential event, that is a hostile act. This is especially the case given other presidential events (Kennedy in the Dallas motorcade, Reagan getting out of a car) where others have had guns, with disastrous effects. I have seen others who did NOT have guns get arrested at Bush events just because they had anti-Bush signs. Bush tolerated NO dissent. This guy had a right to carry his sign (even though it implied violence) but NOT to carry that gun at an event involving the POTUS because it was an implied THREAT.

It is strange to me that US law permits people to show up at these public events such as the town hall meeting carrying a loaded gun, thereby intimidating the other participants, and in the case of the NH town hall meeting, endangering the president.
On the other hand, had he been caught with a joint, or a few grams of marijuana, this guy would be sitting in jail right now.
Something seems terribly wrong here.

I'd rather have a guy smoking a joint standing next to me rather than this dumbass with a gun in a leg holster any day. At least the toker is gonna be mellow instead of thinking about starting some shit or riling up the wingnuts.

......to do whatever he wants as long as he isn't breaking the law, even if he is being an ass. This is America, land of the free, everybody is free to act like a dick. That's the price we pay.

Mr. Kostric wasn't being just an ill informed ass. Mr. Kostric was being intimidating. That was his whole point. He wanted to intimidate others, especially the President of the United States with his "show" of force.

It is to laugh...

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

quite comfortable, why wouldn't I? Him exercising his rights have no effect on mine. And I would probably be carrying also.

not a hard concept to grasp.

He did not have his gun concealed when he was in no immediate danger whatsoever. So this guy is not only a dickwad, he indeed broke the law.

The spirit of the 2nd amendment most definitively does not include the right of a thug to use guns to intimidate other citizens at a public function. In fact, it is pretty much the opposite of what that amendment was designed for.

not required to conceal his weapon in NH. Open carry is legal so therefor no laws broken.

the law of common sense.

... onto his facebook site, I'm sure a judge somewhere has been asked for a warrant for phone and internet records, and I'm sure that this guy was in sights the whole time he was standing there. If some kook had grabbed his gun the snipers would have opened fire. He endangered himself, and any nuts that may have been tempted to take his weapon as well as the people nearby. His purpose was intimidation, he has a sign that refers to a tree that needs blood of tyrants and patriots, he has a gun. He's saying this time I'm here with a sign, next time I just might only be carrying the gun and no sign, come to collect the blood.

the patriots part? He only mentioned the blood of tyrants, not patriots.

Too bad Tweety doesn't get this hot and bothered when interviewing someone in power who has actually broken the law or done something horrible to our country.

I guess Chris only gets a tingle from power. The lowly citizen who has done nothing illegal he has no problem tearing into.

I never said he broke the law. But just because it's legal, don't mean it's exactly smart to do...
And Matthews so very rarely has an interview like this, where he's righteously angry and lets the guy have it.

Yeah, that part was very good. Douchebaginess indeed. HA!

He lost all his potential credibility for me when he accused BHO of holding himself out as a "constitutional scholar." The president taught constitutional law. No one who knows anything, nor BHO himself, has ever claimed he was a scholar of any kind. Not in the sense this moron is claiming. Is this man just an asshole or is this a shot at the "elite"--those who actually study so they know what they are talking about? That "friends close, enemies closer" concept necessitates listening to weasels and idiots.

that's typical the obama walks on water strategy. they can't stand that president obama in my opinion is intellectual. it's a big contrast from the BUSH administration. president makes economic sense for the majority of americans for this current time. the RIGHT knows his message is strong. health care actuaries don't give a shxt what party you belong to. if there's a loophole to NOT pay for health care services they will do it. i would bet heavily that president obama is much more knowledgable about the constitution and it's interpretation than the klown with the gun.

.

Using part of a quote is par for the course with people like this, look at the NRA. They only ever use a part of the second amendment rather than the whole.
I saw this moran yesterday on this show, he soundedlike an idiot with his aimless babble. My personal motto is "people are stupid," but these slobbering fools go way beyond that with brainless antics like this.

That sums it right up.

Give any psychopath on the street their 15 minutes of fame on national tv?

I'm not sure I want to see more of that..

but that is a good point.

Now the kook probably feels some legitimacy. Joe The Plumber, only well-armed. He'll be contacted by other rightwing organizations, he'll be bombarded with nasty phone calls and letters and he'll feel swept up in some great cause. Eventually, after his 15 minutes have run their course and he's basically discarded, he'll snap, angrier and more confused.

and he may feel legitimized, but that don't make it so.
And yeah, he probably will go ape shit once he's lost his instant fame.

he probably will go ape shit once he's lost his instant fame

Which means he's then eligible to have his own show on FOX.

This guys' gunnin for your show!
HA!
punny.

That is exactly the point.

Suddenly, every nutcase is on national TV or on YouTube. And more are on the way.

At this rate. Jerry Springer will have a hard time finding nutcases for his show. Say it ain't so!

This shithead needs to have is gun in the open. He needs to compensate for the itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny pee-shooter in his pants.

and was biting his tongue....lol...I think Tweety wanted to rip this troglodyte a shiny new asshole.

from which the sun doth shine. In the opinion of the 'shooters' (2nd ammendment advocates, anyway. If 'birthers' and 'deathers', why not 'shooters'?

)O(

Why not chuters?

poop-chuters?

)O(

Jawohl.

why isn't he so outraged when racist pig Pat Buchannon comes on spouting his hate for "brown and darker people" and women, and anybody who doesn't adhere to his white Christian male viewpoint of America? I think he just does this with the little unimportant regular people, who won't affect his popularity with his corporate masters and the MSM, and "important" people like Buchannon never get the Wrath of Tweety".

And then there's that tingle that runs down his leg when he sees the object of his mancrush.

and EEEEEWWWWWW!

that Tweety and Buchanan are both employees of the same corporation. Buchanan is the right wing equivalent of an Alan Colmes. No one on Faux News tuned in to listen to Alan Colmes, and no one tunes in to MSNBC to listen to Pat Buchanan. Rachel Maddow is right - he's like the crazy old uncle that no one knows what crazy rant he'll come out with next. Buchanan is never seen on Keith Olbermann's show because Keith would hand him his racist old ass. He was on Rachel Maddow's show, and she called him on the nutjob talking points, so he wasn't successful there. But I don't think MSNBC wants to rock the boat by having old man Buchanan smacked around by all the other talking heads on their network. So he dodders from show to show, allowed to give the wingnut pov, but no one is taking him seriously. He should retire already, or just stick to his gig on The McLaughlin Group on PBS.

he's got a contract. Although, I can't figure out why. He must have a relative in upper management. I wrote a steamy letter asking them to fire his ass when I saw him ranting and raving on Hardball with racist- and mysoginistic-speak about Sonia Sotomayer--and he was on a couple other MSNBC shows spouting the same thing.....then when he got his head handed to him by Rachel, I thought surely they would dump him. But No, the doddering old fool is still there. He must be blackmailing sombody higher up. We can only pray for the Lord to call him home.

Pretty entertaining, I just wish he had dug a little more into the delicate soap bubble of this moran's "many rights" being "taken away."

he should have for sure.
I'm sure this idiot will be interviewed again...hopefully by KO, Maddow, Stewart or Colbert.

for Stewart. He can hand him his manhood like he did with William "the Bloody" Kristol. That was a masterpiece to behold!

If Colbert gets ahold of this guy...the guy wouldn't know what hit him until later when someone with a bigger brain...a child perhaps, can explain it to him.

If you listen to his rant, what is most revealing is that he bascially says that he hates everything that was done throughout the history of the U.S. (income tax, medicare, etc). He basically hates everything about this country. He should just leave and find a better political system to live in. He obviously does not like this country and what it stands for.

I suppose he would like the country to be in a state of anarchy were he can roam around with his gun and look after himself. I am not sure what kind of country that would be. These people have no concept of what American society has provided them with....

that place is pretty much in a state of anarchy.

He already lives in a state of confusion...don't make it worse by making him change his address. He'll have to throw out all his clothes.

That would be a shame wouldn't it?

)O(

And then all those postal change of address form will really make him go postal.

...that is a really good and simple point. This person does not like how this country is run. He doesn't like anything about it, save his right to bear arms which, I dunno, I think he just likes hand guns. The "right" is incidental to him, but that's just my impression. Regardless, if this fool is really that unhappy, then he can follow a bit of advice I am sure he had doled out over the years:
You don't like it here? Buh-bye then. No, no; no chattering. Buh. And BYE.

Wanna have a rational discussion and stop implying that your gun is keeping me polite, then welcome back, my bruvver!

As only one example, Matthews brought up the Birthers argument, and Kostric said he had no information/opinion regarding that issue. Yet, as Joan Walsh's Salon article makes clear, he's been following the Birther movement and posted related materials to his Facebook page.

I wish Matthews and others would start asking gotcha questions, e.g., when some wingnut argues that Obama is destroying the Constitution, I wish they'd be asked to describe the Bill of Rights, and what it encompasses. I mean, I actually felt bad for Arlen Spector, watching him patiently listen to people who have literally no idea what's in the Constitution argue that Obama was tearing it to pieces.

TV and radio pundits rarely have the intellect to call out these thugs and fakers, probably a result of the lack of civic education in this country since the Reagan years, when Ronnie banned all social studies and civics classes from the public schools, banned free college education in the 70s when he was governor there, and then when George Bush instituted the "Every Child Left Behind" system. Our country has systematically been dumbed down for the last 30 years by conservatives who don't want government to do anything except conduct wars and cut taxes. In the '60s we were #1 in the world in education.....now we're 47th. Case closed.

informed people, is it? So, the less, the merrier.

couldn't survive a week without the government's help, or using things the government supplies. These guys should be dropped in the woods with a gun, and flint and steel, and left there for two weeks, to make their own shelter and find & cook their own food. All they got is mouth, and some cock eyed idea about patriotism they got from watching Daniel Boone reruns on TV, and no survival skills at all.

would be about right for him I imagine.

.

"showing the other end of it" "pull people in your direction."

These are the types of catch phrases that fundamentalist groups use to pull ignorant and uninquisitive people into the fold.

The same types of open ended statements and declarations are often made from the pulpit or from the tube by tv evangelists.

hese loons can't display their penises so they display their guns.

.

This guy is nothing but a political terrorist. He was making an indirect threat to the President with the show of gun and his sign. Timothy McVeigh was wearing a t-shirt with a similar slogan after murdering hundreds of Americans. I hope they keep an eye on this nutjob.

this guy has a team of agents watchin him around the clock.

, Laredo, better yet, Afghannistan, so that he can he use his little gun. Jackass!

Please don't get the wrong idea about people in New Hampshire. There are a lot of progressives in the Southern part of the state, especially here in the seacoast region -- we traded in Sununu for a democratic senator last time and have two dem representatives. Kostric actually came here from Arizona as part of a movement for libertarians to take over this state by moving here in large numbers. Joan Walsh has the story at Salon: http://www.salon.com/opinion/walsh/politics/2...

And they were NOTHIN like this loser.

For no good reason, I always thought of NH as a pretty peaceful, nice place. I really don't know why; maybe the name? I bet it is really something in the Fall.

At any rate, I did not get any kind of impression that Mr Insecure here is anywhere near the majority.

... I never associated "peaceful" with a place whose motto includes "or die" in it ;-)

.

My NH ignorance is showing! LOL. I truly know NOTHING about it.

:)

n/t

It's also the state that screams like a stuck pig whenever any kind of sales or income tax is proposed. To make up for that lack of revenue, you have to sell one of your kids every year to register your car. But too many don't see just how ass-backwards that is. At least they're not a commie state like Vermont, with an INCOME TAX.

...I had NH mixed up with Vermont? Clearly, my first statement about not knowing the first thing about New Hampshire was quite accurate.

lolz@myself

Boys during the Revolutionary War?

He doesn't have a New Hampshire accent and he looks like he has Texas blood in his veins.

Hmmm...the empty stare, the fear in his voice...yep..sounds like he's from Outer Wingnuttia.

could be a bush...
Ya never know!
It's not outside the realm of possibilities!

.

After watching the video I think he handled the interview fairly well. Matthews tried to rattle him and couldn't.

...I think he is smart enough to know that he's attracted the attention of some very powerful people though.
And that may not be to his liking in the long run.

I don't know the guy so I can't comment on his intelligence, but I agree that he is probably now on the "no-fly" list, among many others.

A) he brings a loaded gun to a town hall meeting where the POTUSA is speaking...legal maybe...but damn sure not smart.
B) he hold a sign indirectly threatening the life of the President...on national teevee...not sure that's legal, but I do know it ain't smart.
C) he goes on Hardball, gets his ass handed to him, and just blinks like an idiot when Chris nails him repeatedly on several different points, to me that ain't a display of intelligence.
D) HE BROUGHT A LOADED FUCKING GUN TO A TOWN HALL MEETING WHERE THE POTUSA WAS SPEAKING!!!!!

Not yelling at you, just making a point.

A) Legally exercising ones rights...how is that not smart?
B) Sign did not "indirectly threaten the POTUS". If it did he would have been arrested.
C) I missed the part in the interview when Matthews hands him his ass. I did see the effort though.
D) refer to A

Thanks for not yelling, LNM.

Love the right.

They whine and bitch about the poor "endangering their children" simply because of the conditions they live in due to their being POOR.

But, any idea of promoting public safety by limiting the number of loaded weapons on a crowded street...is an invasion of rights and an affront to liberty.

The same people who were cheering when they were putting liberals in "free speech zones," now are complaining that their "rights" are being trampled for not being able to see the president toting a gun?

LOL.

"Free Speech Zones"

You mean cages? Topped with barbed wire?

Who here would like to speculate on WTF would happen to any individual if this had occurred at a Bush or Cheney event?

A)Legally exercising ones rights or not. Bringin a gun to such an event is very very stupid IMHO.
B) You know damn well what the rest of the quote on the sign says, and what it means.
C) IMHO...the entire interview consisted of Matthews handing the gentleman his own hindquarters. They guy wasn't able to make a valid argument for any of his actions.
D) refer to A indeed.

NO PROBLEM! };)>

A) Now we're getting somewhere. He's stupid IYHO. Fair enough. You know what they say about opinions.
B) I know what the rest of the quote is, but that was not on the sign. Again I say if there was any percieved threat whatsoever against POTUS, he would have been arrested.
C) Again, IYHO.
D) Now it's A and C

makin much headway here
Looks like we're gonna have to agree to disagree.

always fun LNM

the first rule of gun ownership is responsibility.

Did this asshat have his safety on? Did anyone ask?

And the government DOES have a right to promote public safety.

Even in the Old West, there were events and places where you were REQUIRED to check your weapon.

And honestly, if an accident were to occur..I prefer that this moron would have shot off his right ball rather than see some young innocent be hurt.

...as it isn't his "left" ball. We have to hold out SOME hope for this poor feller! Lefty might be shriveled, atrophied and neglected, but it's still better than nothing.

:)

on the firearm, it may not have had a manual safety, Glocks for instance do not have one, and the sidearms that the police are issued in my city do not have one either.

on the sign"..........you mean like the fine print in the credit card application? I think we all know the idiot's intent on bringing a loaded gun to a Town Hall where POTUS is speaking, and in NH, everybody knows the rest of that quote, and what it means. Weasel.

Even though it is fine print, it is still on the application. That is comparing apples to oranges. And since you "know the idiot's intent", please enlighten me.

was to foment discord. A loaded gun and a sign such as that has nothing to do with healthcare, which was what the forum was about. And if anyone had approached him in a hostile manner, I'd bet apples to oranges he wouldn't react with a hug.

And this is because he was a law-abiding citizen showing up to an event (yes I know POTUS was there) expressing his first amendment right to free speech that had nothing to do with the topic on the agenda. And who, in your opinion, would have approached him in a hostile manner? And why, for that matter?

not 1869....Nobody needs to carry a pistol on their hip to a peaceful(?) town hall rally unless they're expecting to intimidate or defend themselves. We don't carry guns to the mall, the grocery or church....why here? Again, it's not the Wild West anymore.

I believe he stated in the video he carries for defense. Oh, and he was on church property.

Let that little tidbit sink in people...
Isn't the church supposed to stay out of politics?

abortion doctor there he could have taken care of.

this is all about diversion and at the same time...bringing up all the right wing bugaboos that the right have. States rights, intrusive government, free speech, etc.

When you have no way of winning one argument, you change the argument...even if you can't win that one either.

cooler heads prevail. You can never win a reasonable argument with a winger...they don't have the fire power to conduct an honest debate---hence the continuous screaming and yelling instead of asking reasonable questions at the Town Halls. Thank you, L&P...on to more reasonable pursuits.

You

may not carry to those places, but quite a few people do. Myself included.

A) What do they say about opinions? Does that count as your opinions? Does that mean that anyone's opinion on this matter is rather meaningless? If it's meaningless, does that mean that blogs are meaningless if they contain opinions?

B) Oh... because it's not on the sign that means it's not inferred. Gotcha. So, because these are simpletons, that everything has to be spelled out?

C) You see what you only want to see in your world view. It matters not that you may (or may not) be in the minority, but only your opinion matters on this point, right? ("You know what they say about opinions?" yuk, yuk)

D) It's a nice double standard here. Had someone brought a gun that wasn't a friendly to George W. Bush... that person would have been arrested before he got out of any parking lot.

TM

A) I stated that I didn't know him so I couldn't comment on his inteligence. That's not opinion.
B) Gotcha? Got what? Milk?
C) I saw the interview and my take was different that LNM's. Yes, that was my opinion. However, I fail to see what my being in the minority or majority has to do with anything concerning "what matters". Yuk yuk? Really?
D) As some other poster mentioned about free-speech zones under Bush, it was complete BS that those zones were created. It was wrong then just as it would be wrong now.

is this guy has no common sense, and no gun training- "rights" or not, you do not bring a gun into a crowded place, and carry it in a manner where it can very easily be taken away from you. That leg holster just invites a rear take away..

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

A) He was not at the town hall meeting, he was on private property. I don't recall anyone standing next to him saying that they felt intimidated. As for his genitalia, don't know the man so I can't comment.
B) Again, if there was a threat he would have been arrested, or at least detained. He was neither.
C) Timmee tried to start a brawl, but didn't get the response he was after.
D) Now I'm to blame for my country being in shambles because I made a comment to a news article(in which I have not attempted to incite violence, or even been disrespectful to other commentors) that differs from yours.

Wow...

Letter D is the seriousness and the point that lots of people and some of these posters just don't get.

Mine or 4Liberty's?

be able to comment on their intelligence? He shot his mouth off on national TV (pun intended), and exposed his ignorance and lack of understanding by citing GOP cliches? He brought an exposed pistol to a Town Hall meeting where the POTUS spoke, while carrying that sign with half of a quote on it? He's stupid!

After watching the video I think he handled the interview fairly well.

By what measurement? Not shooting up the studio?

usually when someone is berated in that fashion, as was obviously happening by Matthes, the person on the receiving end tends to get very defensive.

Perhaps he was medicated. Is he under a doctor's care? Does he have a history of mental illness?

Should the people not know this?!?! He's out in the streets with a loaded weapon...with children around...this isn't about the law...it's about safety...child endangerment!

)O(

and from one of my favorite movies.
But don't you think this will upset our gun-totin' friend? Maybe he's one of those "America for Americans" guys........and you know that those dark people can't possibly be true Americans!

this should be down below, after the "Birther" comments!

I don't think this guy has the intelligence required to get rattled.
I think he's on permanent, low speed cruise control...

he's cannon fodder for the right.

If he's shot by the SS...he's some lone nut that they can diassociate themselves front.

He's a tool...an expendible asset.

He's an expendable tool they use to rally around.
