The National Rifle Association is having its big annual convention in Arizona this week, which means we'll see the usual parade of fearmongering and liberal-bashing on steroids that these affairs always are -- with a special emphasis on President Obama, that scary Muslim left-wing radical who wants to take all our guns away.

It's all paranoia, all the time. As you can see from clips above, all the raging talk at the convention is about how gun sales are through the roof because everyone's afraid Obama is going on a gun-grabbing spree. (Side note: Was that a Freudian slip on Larry Kudlow's part, calling the NRA the "IRA"?)

Pretty typical is Ted Nugent, who's blogging the affair from Arizona for Human Events and coming up with some prime bon mots ("Write this down: Gun Free Zones are a felon’s playgrounds. Ban Gun Free Zones now. Join the NRA.") while drawing a bead on the bottom line: Keep your hands off my guns, you dirty stinking liberals:

Meanwhile, in order to stop the drowning and murders, I will work on banning water, Obama can try to ban guns. Good luck. Save an innocent life, join the NRA and celebrate 138 years of keeping and bearing. Drive a bad guys nuts. Then shoot him while he’s committing a violent crime.

That's the stuff circulating for mainstream-media consumption. But always at these shows, and around them, there's the gaseous nebula of conspiracism. The warnings of an NRA fan posted at one of the local news stories is fairly typical of the material floating about the convention and among its attendees:

Something all of you should know about the Obamanation and his termite approach to total gun control!!!! A new bill that has been introduced to the house HR45 the Blair Holt firearm Licensing & Record of sale Act of 2009. this is flying under the radar NOW!! Basically this would make it illegal to own a fire arm - any rifle and or pistol with A magizine unless it is registered

you are fingerprinted
you supply a current drivers license
you supply a social security #
you submit to a full physical & mental evaluation at any time of goverment choosing.

each ownership through private and or public must be reported and cost $25 per transaction. the failure to do so you automatically lose your right to own a fire arm and go to jail for a year.

And lets not forget the child rovision clause on page 16 sec 305 stating all guns must be locked an inaccessiable to all children under age 18 the goverment would have the right to enter your home anytime to inspect that your firearms are stored & locked away to there spefications if not you get a hefty fine and 5 yrs in prison, don't take my word for it read it for yourselfs www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45text remember Adolf Hilter started gun control in 1939 don't think for a moment it can't happen here. watch your back America they are out to get us. nothing wrong with gun ownership, as long as you dont look down the barrel while cleaning one and pull the trigger at the same time!

I strongly support the right to bear arms, I just think the paranoia over the topic is totally out of whack in comparison to the other issues on the table in this country and the world right now.

Though, I'd be curious to see if the paranoia played out and martial law was established, hundreds of thousands of people were forced into FEMA concentration camps and an all out war broke out between the US government and these freedom fighters if they'd still support torturing enemy combatants.

Probably not.

.

The term "Well regulated"...
... Is not found when guns are bought and sold from the trunk of a car.

.

they said they wanted to talk to good, honest Americans in Georgia. Well they never called when I lived in Massachusetts. He started to blab about some disasterous bill in congress and I should have let him speak so I could blunder him even more, but I interrupted and explained that while I certainly support the right to bare arms I would not listen to unwarrented verbal attacks on the president, and hung up.

Yup, just keep on clinging to them guns and bibles. Let them comfort you after the past administration's destruction of your jobs, homes, environment, schools, medical system, military, civil rights and the constitution itself - except the 2nd Amendment which was in fact left so open that even a terrorist can happily by a gun.

Guns, gays and gynecologists are the only things these morons care about.

they are also the target of their "affections."

Basically this is what the mind of these idiots is afraid of:

The Dems are going to take their guns away.
The activist judges are going to take their bibles away.
The Mexicans are going to take their jobs away.
The Gynecologists are going to take their fetuses away.
and the big bad black president is going to take their wives away....

Frankly I am surprise these morons muster the courage to get up in the morning with such volume of fear.

their 'affections.'"

Yikes, I don't want their "affections"! :S

Actually, I'm an atheist. I voted for Obama, hated every second of Bush and think he should be prosecuted. I support gay rights. I'm about as far left as you can get, except, I've been involved in the shooting sports since I was 18, I'm now 52. Some people play golf others target shoot and hunt. You seem to have a problem with what Bush did to our rights but you seem to think it's ok to shred the 2nd amendment to get what you want. Don't forget the term "the people" means the same thing in the second amendment as it does in all the others.

The 2nd clearly ties bearing arms with involvement in a WELL-REGULATED MILITIA. There is nothing in there about bearing arms to engage in vigilantism like the gun nuts are spewing. I own a few guns, and have no problem with hunters or recreational gun users, but I absolutely think that assault rifles have no place in consumer hands. It's crazy to keep insisting that they're comparable to the single shot muzzle loaded guns that were around in the late 18th century. I would strongly support any legislation requiring training and a license for anyone that wants to buy a gun; just like you have to have a driver's license to operate a car. I think it's completely irresponsible not to use gun locks if you have children.

There is no constitutional right to own and operate a car. There is one to own and operate a gun.

And I find it crazy to bring up the type of guns that existed in the late 1700s, as if that were relevant to the 2nd Amendment's meaning. Radio, television, and the Internet did not exist then either, but that has no bearing on their protection under the 1st Amendment. Freedom of speech doesn't just refer to vocal speech, and freedom of the press doesn't just refer to newspapers. Likewise, the right to keep and bear arms does not refer just to muzzle-loading flintlocks.

BTW, those muzzle-loading single-shot rifles were state of the art military weapons in 1791. And the "well-regulated militia" is every able-bodied adult in America.

it is that some people decide that it explains the motives and the "tools" we're allowed to bear. You can not update the tools, and leave the "motives" stagnant.

There is little resemblance between the reasons for gun ownership the framers had in mind in the XVII century, and the reasons some of the gun nuts (note: responsible gun owners are not gun nuts) are coming up on a daily basis, esp. the NRA.

It's the dictionary definition of a "waste of time". They have an "answer" for everything you say. You won't change their minds; they won't change yours. Save your breath.

I had read once that the phrase "bear arms" in the 18th century reffered to a type of military service, not just simply owning a firearm. Besides, the second amendment begins by stating that a well regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free state. It then goes on to say that the rights of the people to keep and bear arms will not be infringed.
Looking at it with the focus on the first sentance, you can credibly argue that it means all people are allowed to own a weapon, or you could also argue that it means the government cannot restrict people from serving in a well regulate militia---a police force for example, or perhapse the national guard.
That`s my interpretation.

What good are any of those things you mentioned, if one cannot go rabbit hunting with their ak-47?

If they take away the AK-47s of law abiding rabbit hunters, then only the rabbits will have AK-47s! Wascally wabbits!

Some of the people who will attend that show would frighten me more if they were living in my neighborhood than the people who are at Gitmo right now.

IF any of the people at gitmo are in my neighborhood a gun nut are two would be great.unless you prefer suicide bombers

Paranoia is right. There hasn't been a peep out of the Obama administration regarding taking away their "gurns" (or their "jerbs"). I don't understand why people go so nuts over this.

I'm liberal on social issues as well, but I see no problem owning firearms.

I just got a forwarded email from my Dad about a guy in England who was sentenced to life in prison for shooting two burglars who had broken into his house back in 1999. The subject line read "The Parallels" and ended with a line about the UK police going to registered gun-owners' doors to take their guns away--"Sound familiar?" it asked. People circulate this shit like swine flu, the same way they spread the "secret Muslim" crap about Obama before the election. Fear will make you believe anything, no matter how unsubstantiated.

--goes a long way toward eradicating the fear of which you speak. I know. I have firearms. They are a lot louder than on tv and in the movies. Especially at the shooting range. Especially my .45. The recoil is a lot more serious than you see in the movies, whose actors work with low-recoil blanks. The destructive element to a paper target is: "Whoa!" Then, if you're sane, when you consider what a 230 grain full metal jacket projectile will do to a person's head, it gives you pause. The responsible gun owner respects the immense responsibility of owning a gun. He takes lessons where he learns how to handle his weapon under the tutelage of qualified professionals and learns about the legal ramifications of shooting somebody and the psychological consequences. He does not post video clips of himself on YouTube blowing up stuff, or clips of his untrained girlfriend shooting a weapon she has no business being near then laughing. He does not see the humor in that. A responsible gun owner does not buy into the ginned-up fearmongering perpetrated and exploited by NRA's Wayne La Pierre--a cadaverous fuck if you've ever seen one--whose institution has close ties to the firearm and ammunition manufacturers. The responsible gun owner wants sensible firearm restrictions because he is responsible and has no fear of being weeded out. My local gun shop manager told me, "Sure sales are up... but it's for all the wrong reasons." The responsible gun owner does not think Ted Nugent calling Obama a "piece of shit" and telling Hillary Clinton to "suck on this" as he wields his AR-15 onstage is funny for he knows Nugent and his acolytes are harming, not helping the sport he love.

that was a very good post. I know that you are in the minority and have a set to be able to write a good article.

would agree that President Obama was not born in the USA and is a Muslim, are pro birth and bible thumpers. (They don't give a shit about what happens to a person after birth).

where? where?

I just love the Gun Rights Uber Alles contingent of these threads!

MMmm-wah!

--no one we want to know.

Progressives need guns!!! Yes we do!!!

Me and all my progressive buddies have Glocks and M4s, SKSs and .22s,

shotguns and plinkers. Guns are good. Registered, legal, and

safely stored and used. There would be no America without guns.

Guns don't kill people radical rightwing hate mongers and pro lifers

Bring it on Teabaggers and Beck-o-philes, this commie pinko

treehugging socialist will air you the fuck out, and at 450 meters!

My buddy just picked up an AR-15. But he is a regressive republican.

personaly i like my 1911 colt service pistol , the recoils tough but the results are satisfying !

Handguns are made for killing. Ain't no good for nothing else. And if you like to drink your whiskey, you might even shoot yourself

I don't need a gun. Thanks.

Lots of people out west HUNT with handguns. Handguns are actually preferred for various reasons for a variety of animals (including humans)..

Who uses a handgun to hunt? I live "out west" and I've only seen that among the clueless and the ones who want to look cool.

Can you give me any of the "various reasons" or "variety of animals"?

other varmints, etc. I don't do it, but I know it's done. Heck, it's easier than using a bow.

I don't hunt anymore. If I did, I wouldn't use a pistol.

Pistol is not as accurate, could hurt an animal instead of a clean kill.

At extreme range but not at the distances they hunt at. Anytime you shoot an animal there's a risk of injury and a non-clean kill..

increases that risk.

Hell using different kinds of ammo can increase that risk in the gun without even changing that variable. So are you advocating that all hunters spend hundreds of dollars firing ammo to find the perfect spread?

Only you, big man that likes to dis everybody; especially women, right.

I love this "ignore user" function.

So long, tool.

)O(

Remember the outrage from the NRA back when Congress was trying to get a handle on "Saturday Night Specials?"

Cornsarn it! We have a constitutional right to be killed by the backfire of our own weapons!

weapon to hunt hamsters and mice.

Also, a little know fact: some fish require dynamite sticks for fishin'.

)O(
)O(

And we need concealable handguns for hunting now that them critters have metal detector wands.

IF you'd ever bothered to read a hunting magazine you'd have your question answered in litterly less then 5 minutes. Add rattlesnakes and such to that list too..

i have 23 acres up at 5000 ft in california. i've seen as many as 5 deer at a time within 30-35 yds distance. that's handgun range. sounds like you don't have the benefit of my experience. your opinion has value never the less as an american. can you allow me the same??

That's the whole reason some inventor in China 900 or so years ago came up with the idea of mixing sulfur, charcoal and potassium nitrate, then igniting it to launch a projectile through a metal tube.

What's your point?

Steele: We Need Guns To Defend Ourselves Against ‘Terrorists’ Coming To ‘Our Communities’
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/05/15/steele-nr...

.

Yee-haaaaa!!!!!

This incident happened very close to my house (here in Northern California) Monday and involved a couple of youngsters and their AK-47's, 14 pounds of stolen marijuana and a wild-ass shooting spree out the window of their cherokee with local sheriffs and highway patrol. Just another day in Humboldt.

http://www.times-standard.com/ci_12367423?sou...

I'd love to hear the story of how that AK-47 came to be in the possession of that 19 year-old.

Not too mention the people involved have a history of arrests involving drugs and firearms. I'd bet my life that the guns were already illegally in their possession before they even got in the truck..

it is his Constitutional right.

CNBC is pushing a stock that is $5.39 a share? Granted it's up from October when it hit it's low of $2.30 a share but it's not recession proof. It's high in five years a year and a half ago was over $20.00. even when Bush was in his second term and the extent of how bad he screwed the economy wasn't seen it was at $15.00. Smith and Wesson's best growth was during the Bush years. So CNBC by logic people must have been scared as shit that Bush was going to take their guns.

This should tell you all you need to know about CNBC and Kudlow. The man hasn't a clue what he's doing. Don't listen to these people who think their going to make you rich overnight. Find a broker who's concerned about your retirement.

I'm in the business, let me know if you need a card. Smith & Wesson? The only people they made money for is their CEO's.

"Find a broker who's concerned about your retirement." not being in his pocket.

Brokers are there to take your money and manage it as if it were not theirs. Stay away from the broker.

I specialize in retirement and I care about my clients. I know my clients. Most of my clients make more than me. Not all brokers are Wall Street millionaires. I do get paid for my services. If I didn't, It wouldn't be called a job. Brokers don't do their shit for free. We need to make a living too. Where do you go, Etrade, one of those online jokes? They take more of your money without you knowing than any independent broker like myself. Their are more hidden fees that people like you do not see. You're being taken. All of ours are up front. Every quarter we are monitored by the largest independent brokerage firm in the nation. They check to see if we have our clients invested correctly (Growth, Growth and Income, Moderate Growth etc..), our trades are monitored to make sure we are not churning accounts. We are audited once a year.

Don't lump us all in with a Bernie Madoff. I don't work on Wall Street. I work on Zuck Road in a county of a population of 100,000 with more competition than you'll ever know.

I manage peoples money like I'd like mine managed. Concerned for their future and retirement. I make decent living, but I'm still concerned about health insurance, my mortgage, inflation and my credit. But I'm worried about my clients too. I can give you a names of people that will tell you that they are still ahead after the past five years. Can you say that about your retirement accounts?

I can say the same about my broker's care but, I've taken a bath all the same as a result of the Bush meltdown.

Sometimes, I get the feeling that the market is rigged.

You keep plugging.

You can spew the same crap about a care dealer, repair man in any industry a lawyer, a politician, democrat or republican. Basically you can make that claim about every position in every industry. Probably in your your job job too. Be it a social worker who really doesn't care. But every time something goes wrong, people claim it's every one in that position who are bad.

Shit, peanut butter and salmonela. Are all peanut growers bad now. Everyone in the food industry...bad!? Mad cow disease. Are all dairy farmers negligent? You get a bad bunch of corn. Are all corn growers bad?

I can go on if you want. I had the worse pizza the other day but I'm not gonna claim all Italians make bad pizza.

You see my point? You're calling me a bad person because of what other people have done. So every time any one in any position has done anything you should make it a reflection on everyone? Generalize much?

I bought firearms because of Dubya, but not because I thought he was going to outlaw 'em. I bought because I thought he was going to destroy the economy and move us into a depression, which would cause a massive loss of jobs and thus increase the crime rate. That was a couple of years ago. Glad I bought...

I think Larry Kudlow and Bill Kristol were seperated at birth.

Wait wait wait folks....

Is it just me or was Kudlow a little drunk during that piece?

Some mighty long s's there.

face. And the weird fetish Kudlow displayed when the same reporter was handling the gun.

We live in a society where a reporter things that holding a device made for killing people is "fun" and another boob who gets turn on by said device.

The NRA president was doubleplus orwellian.... ugh. I need to get the f*ck out of this place, seriously what went wrong with this country?

...Cheney. Bush. Cheney.

Why is hemorrhoid like a gun? Sooner or later, every a**hole gets one.

it's no surprise we don't recognize it anymore.

kind of like switch blades huh?p>

Oh wait!! It's guNs, not guMs!

I was gonna get pretty pissed off myself if Obama was gonna take away my GUMS! (Teeth don't chew, people do.)

Ted Fucknugget? Who can take seriously a moron who soils his own pants to get out of military service?

Dick Cheney and most Republicans, no doubt.

Not the commenters, in my opinion.

The FP persons (and monitors).

Attacking the NRA and its members may feel good, but it's a waste of time.

NRA members have about a zero crime rate.

NRA members aren't your fucking enemy.

You'd probably be glad to live next to an NRA member.

Your enemy wears a pretty good suit and tie and is a government insider. Someone who would sell out an NRA member as quickly as he or she would sell out you.

LOL.

survivors of the Columbine shootings, and wails about not being allowed to use AK-47s to hunt deer, meanwhile by community is being torn apart my gun violence...yup, I should be more grateful, alright...

a father, two children, and the pregnant mother were all repeatedly shot. The 7 week old fetus is dead, the little girl has an injured leg and appears understandably traumatized, and I believe the little boy, father, and mother are in critical condition.

Thank you NRA!

Yes because without a gun surely the dude would of decided to just chill at home and not used a knife or any number of blunt objects..

Get a fucking grip..

*sigh* You'd have trouble getting a "fucking grip" if you'd seen some of the things I've seen, but I shall it leave it at that.

Yes continue to live in your special little world where only you have suffered or experienced anything bad..

I love how you projected all that nonsense about "living in a special little world" after all you are the only making up alternative scenarios, we don't know what would or wouldn't have happened sans guns. However, we know what happened in that specific situation involving guns.

rude and unnecesary, and since I am trembling and actually physically upset right now (which is rare), I'm going to just bow out.

I will say that I'm assuming from your comments that you're a gun violence survivor and/or witness too, in which case I'm very sorry, and I'm very sorry you felt the need to attack me even though I can sympathize deeply with what guns are capable of.

I'm going to take a breather now.

)O(

Need my phone number?

I'm alright, just pulling myself away from responding was enough to start calming me down. I thank ya tho. :)

I go trippin' on my dopamine.

Dopamine trips are fun, aren't they!

is a great tool.

Instead of dealing with a pissing contestant,I just get a "Tool of the NRA is on your ignore list."

*

Are you willfully ignorant, or does stupidity just come naturally to you?

I doubt there's anyone here that would try to convince the world that all crime goes away if there are no guns. And we're quick enough on the draw to figure out that there are sociopaths out there that will kill no matter what, whether they have guns or not.

So why are there so many mouth-breathers who refuse to concede that the Ted Bundys and John Wayne Gacys of the world are the decided minority of criminals? Why the adamant determination NOT to recognize that a gun makes it oh-so-easy for a situation that would have been a punch in the face to become a killing? Or what would have been one person hurt becomes an entire family killed?

wider than just the NRA. I'm not a fan of the NRA, I'm just sayin' that without the NRA, we'd still have massacres and the like.

themselves around people who've been affected by gun violence that often makes me the angriest.

In 1999, right after Columbine, despite the pleadings of the loved ones of the Columbine victims, and the Littleton CO community, the NRA just laughed in their face and had their convention in Denver.

Sadly, some gun owners have a similiar attitude towards surviors.

It's crap like that that will never make me sympathetic to the NRA. Never.

I feel there's definitely a need to balance both the survivor's goal to see that gun violence doesn't happen, and to let responsible gun owners have firearms within reason. I just feel that our gun policy is skewed in favor of gun owners, and the NRA doesn't help. That's why I referred to them as the Gun Rights Uber Alles crowd earlier, 'cause that's all they care about.

Surely they revoked the shooter's membership.

Now if only I could get Dick Cheney to shoot me in the face I'd really feel good!

And most NRA members are far right, which would make them not only our enemy but enemy's of the true law of this country.

I'd love to see your stats where you say NRA members have nearly a zero crime rate.

That will turn off a great deal of independents from true progressive causes. The posters above me are no better then the right wingers who froth over abortion or gays. The NRA is supported by people who exhibit a wide range of political views. While the NRA does have a tendency to support rightwingers (much to the chagrin of some donors) they also do a great deal of good with their various firearm safety programs. We're not going to get anywhere in this discussion if both sides insist on being crazy..

and projection you wingnuts portray are usually the best way to lure independents towards progressive causes.

So keep at it... please.

See this is the crap I'm talking about. I try to engage you in a reasonable discourse and you go full out frothing at the mouth about how I"m the wingnut lawl..

which is why I asked you to pretty please keep at it.

Your projection is hilarious... in a sand kind of way..

)O(

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odcJ-vS22rI

Is lawl a contraction of a contraction between lol and y'all?

See ysbaddaden's song was a bout a Mr. Sandman, not about strawmen...

Why is it that the second amendment refers to bearing unspecified arms in a militia, but people read a right to conceable private hand guns, but they have no problem at all with Congress regulating the blade lengths of knives, and the sale and distribution (particularly by mail) of numchucks and throwing stars?

Because every wingnut knows deep down is nothing but a plunderer and a parasite, in other words they are the pirate party.
Everybody knows that the natural enemy of the pirate are them ninjas.

Ergo these idiots think, that by limiting the length of blades and throwing stars, they are neutralizing the awesome power of he liberal ninjas. Little they know that the awesome power of the ninja comes from their technique not the weapons...

"a tendency to support rightwingers"

HAHAHahahahahahahahaha

They never support anyone who isn't.

Don't feed the troll. "They all suck" never has anything good to say about anything, anyone, anytime. Have pity on this sorry sack, and ignore him.

*

he never has anything positive to say about Obama or the Dems. He always finds a silver lining on plenty of issues involving wingnuts, obviously... always by "pure coincidence" I am sure.

It is funny how the wingnuts are so desperate, that they think by trying to put the dems at their level it makes them look better. LOL.

)O(

He was one of the first on my ignore list.

But then I'm sure I'm on a few too.

we sure missed you. There were a couple of posters trying to copy your shtick... but sans the wit or the awesome youtube links.

)O(

I have a poster of Franz Kafka

And a nekkid lady wearing only a snake.

Were you in Europe?

I just came back from a fortnight in London.

But I do have a subscription to a Socialist newspaper since before I left.

I was seriously considering Brian Moore for president. But then I can't even remember if he was on the Texas ballot.

Zero crime rate? Time McVeigh was an NRA member. The number of Americans killed and injured in his terrorist attack on America is worth a least a few crime rate percentage points dontcha think?http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/...

The rest of us do. The wife and children of the NRA guy probably have their own guns. Abusers do not buy guns for their tribe.

Even if they ban guns, and I sincerely hope that never happens, you can still purchase a flare gun for emergency use at a big box and set the wife beater, robber, or rapist's hair and clothing afire. No problem.

whos doing all the gun violence? gang bangers?

gun owners too, unfortunately.

Why did I not have the foresight to anticipate bedwetting gun nut "morans" would be buying up guns once the librul black guy got in the White House and buy me up some Smith and Wesson stock.

Damn. Note to self: Anticipate right wing idiocy, fear and paranoia and capitalize on it next time. Like the right wing politicians do.

Attack the NRA. If it feels good.

Meantime, your pocket is being picked by Tim Geithner.

Your children's inheritance is being pissed away.

Oh, say something awful about Rush, that turd, if it makes you feel good.

Do what it takes to makes you feel good.

My suggestion: take aim on your real enemy. It aint the NRA.

Can we not do both? It's conservatives not libruls who can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

So he assumes just like him, other people can't walk and chew gum.

In any case, his constant red herring of threads trying almost desperately to derail the conversation from the current wingnut d'jour towards his favorite target: the Obama administration. The MO is quite tired really.

For they all suck, but for him it seems some suck more than others... and those sucking the most are always the Dems. Talk about a wolf trying desperately to fit into sheep's clothing. LOL.

It's "du jour," not "d'jour." And throwing French into your conversation? It's not very Tyler Durden. More like Cecil Vyse.

Maybe chastising someone for being educated and using French terms (you may be shocked that a big part of English comes from French, oh mon dieu!) may be all the rage over at knuckle dragger central, however it looks kind of desperate and pathetic elsewhere in the world.

LOL. Please, by all means... keep at it. You are like a walking advertisement to support liberal causes. So by all means, stay and keep talking. Pretty please!

PS. Before you correct other people, may I recommend you actually know what the f*ck you are talking about? "d'jour" = short hand for "du jour." Is that all you have, that I used some Gallicisms in my speech? (oh, noes I used another big word)

And I would like to own a gun but don't currently. I hadn't always felt this way. I have shot some pretty nice firearms in the past but I am no way an enthusiast. So, it would be for protection from crazed, paranoid people with guns like the above mentioned Ted Fucknugget and his ilk. Something to consider for those paranoids is that people like me, peaceful, easy going, have no qualms about protecting my own, too. I choose not to be paranoid. I know for a fact that Obama is not anything like Hitler nor a fascist nor a socialist. I wish he were a socialist, frankly. So, what's it going to take for these guys to calm down and take a real look around them? Turning off Fox News for starters.

This is a modern-day gold rush for the industry of violence and death.

Rational, thinking people do not spend more money on guns and ammo than on food and clothing. Rational, thinking people do not fall for the "they're gonna getcha!" advertising.

Guns are for people who can't fight. And I see a whole lot of p*ssies in the NRA.

fight more effectively. Are you saying that gun owners=the NRA?

guess you never had a nut hold a switch blade to your guts , talk about chickenshits afraid to fight!

This is my weapon, and this is my gun

When one don't work, I use the other one.

Hope they shoot each other, like deadeye Cheney did, and do America a great favor.

The pitchfork brigade clinging to their guns and god. Awesome. Waco / Ruby Ridge Version 2.0.

God, these wingnuts sure are hellbent in bringing back the 90s... but sans the economic boom, or the good music.

of "without." You're like a caricature of a Dijon and arugula-smeared librul fop. And I'm out for the evening, y'all. Tyler's snottyisms are all yours.

your pseudo-intellectual trivia were so enlightening.

)O(

I object to that

I'm a liberal sop.

)O(

I don't know, sans works for me.

To understand what was meant, and meant accurately, but to complain at the same time about pseudo-intellectualism seems paternalistic.

Why do you hate America?

'Cause I was talkin' to NoOne.

Either way, "sans" is also shorter than "without."

LOL

I rather be an arugula-dijon eating librul fop than a knuckle dragging wingnut.

If Pasteur was right, all that frothing from your mouth may be linked with rabies, may I suggest you head for your nearest hospital rather than whatever redneck happy hour you were planning to attend. It may not be too late...

)O(

I thought that was Pavlov.

Four letters rather than seven seems...efficient. And it isn't like you need a translator.

BTW- check out the title of the blog post:

The NRA's big show in Arizona: Paranoia en masse

I'm a foreign-language word sprinklin', arugula growin', book readin', French fry European-style eatin', foreign-film watchin', organic Etsy dog treat and banana bread buyin' elitist, and dontcha forget it! :D

)O(

Funny thing, today I just ordered my used copy of Latin for Dummies.

I always wanted to write a book called Self Esteem for Freaking Morons.
