Sally Quinn went on The O'Reilly Factor to announce that she and all the other Villagers are just all a-flutter over the Obama White House's puzzling decision to stand up to its an organization that clearly declared war on his administration from its outset, i.e., Fox News.
But first she had to stop and sniff disdainfully in the direction of Alan Grayson for his gauche style of political rhetoric:
O'Reilly: Do you know this guy? He sounds like a loon.
Quinn: I don't know him. But guess what? Here we are talking about him. And I think that's what this is all about -- he's obviously getting the attention she desperately needs.
O'Reilly: OK, there could be something to be said for that. He represents the Orlando area. But he's certainly kind of unhinged. When you hear rhetoric like that -- you know, the Dick Cheney shooting the guy in the face, and this and that -- doesn't it sound a little immature?
Quinn: Well, I think that it's worse than immature. I mean, what he said was so completely over the top that it sounds like -- it reminded me a little bit of Blagojevich, you know. I mean --
O'Reilly: No, that's good. That's a good -- yeah. Kinda unhinged.
Quinn: Yeah, unhinged. It made no sense. So I don't think you can take it seriously. And I also think that if he -- I can't imagine the Democrats feeling good about this. Or the White House feeling good.
O'Reilly: Or his constituents.
Quinn: But you don't want this guy on your team.
Heavens no. We want people like Sally Quinn. The kind of Village maven who would go on 60 Minutes and slag the Clintons:
"If you consider the life of Bill Clinton," she said on "60 Minutes," "whenever he leaves the White House, he's going to get on a plane, and where is he going to go?"
"What do you mean?" a baffled Mike Wallace asked.
"Well, he -- he doesn't even have a home," she sniffed. "I mean, when you think about it, he's homeless. I mean, they've lived in sort of government properties all their lives."
The kind of "social adviser" who would pen long Washington Post op-eds bemoaning the way the Clintons "fouled the nest".
Yeah, we need advice from Sally Quinn, all right.

I think she once wrote society news for the Washington Post, where she definitely was a reporter. But in making these comments, she should be ashamed. Her husband is Ben Bradlee, Washington Times editor during the Watergate days, when he supervised Woodward and Bernstein. Her comments are so NOT in line with the "afflict the comfortable, comfort the afficted" standard of most independent reporters (which Fox reporters are not, and Woodward and Bernstein once were).
Sally Quinn is a writer for the Washington Post who broke up then editor Ben Bradlee's marriage (with, of course, his help) and married him. She then proceeded to excoriate Bill Clinton for adultery. She also wrote a story including (for no apparent reason) a really nasty lie about Zbigniew Brzezinski.

approve of Alan Grayson. I personally think that Alan Grayson is an american hero for telling the truth and having the balls to do so. Some of the problems that the democratic party has contended with for a long time are: having no balls, no conviction, selling out to the highest bidders, and tucking their tails between their legs and running away whimpering sometimes without even being confronted by anything. That has not been so much the case since democrats have become the majority party. Alan Grayson is the refreshing opposition to, a reaction against, all the problematic behaviors that democrats have been troubled by having no control over in the past and which some of the more conservative democrats (blue dogs) are in danger of lapsing into because of probably mostly perceived pressure. (In most cases, it's probably pressure they are feeling from their big industrial donors after having taken money from them while ignoring or completely devaluing the importance of their responsibility to the constituents who elected them.)
Sally Quinn agrees with O'Reilly that the "feud" that Fox really wants to perpetuate between itself and the WH, which really isn't a feud so much as the WH simply not playing by the rules that Fox would like to impose, agrees with O'Reilly that "the feud" is really a big deal in the halls of Congress. How could such a non-story be big news anywhere? That's my question.

As one of Mr. Grayson's constituents in Florida's District 8, I'm appalled that our freshman Member of Congress is making such a stir. He's made very little attempt to connect with the people in his district, unless he has the chance for a photo op (preferably on the national level). His Town Hall Meetings are a secret until the day of the meeting... His staff doesn't return telephone calls, email, or letters. He doesn't listen, but he seems to produce more than his share of tough guy talk.
Bottom line, Mr. Grayson seems to be in Congress to hunt for bigger jobs in Washington. At the very least, he'll be searching for jobs that don't require an election! Perhaps he could go back to his home town - New York City...

I think the rules should be different for a clearly partisan network, versus a non-partisan network.
I don't see an awful lot of difference between the Fox News crew, and Rush Limbaugh. Fox News is engaged in the advocacy of the GOP agenda.
She went on and on about Bill/Hillary NOT taking time to cultivate the In-crowd, the folks who meet at the Bradley Manse for dinner. They just came into town and proceeded to make their own friends, not take the time to cultivate those who KNOW the town etc...and the inevitable result of those apercus failing to kiss rings was impeachment.
