FOX NEWS Saturday Stock Show propaganda round up: Obama will destroy the economy
By John Amato Sunday Oct 19, 2008 9:40am

On all four shows, Cashing In, Bulls and Bears, Cavuto on Business and Forbes on FOX, John McCain's economic policies were never highlighted. Every screen capture was pure FOX News propaganda attacking Obama and his economic policies that will of course bring Armageddon to our society. There were a few pundits arguing on Obama's behalf that I actually like, but instead of making videos I wanted to show you how segments are guided. In the last few minutes of each show, a pundit will give you a stock tip which another talkie will hate for the most part and then give you another choice...

all hail Ed Schultz!
loved it
I thought that black guy was Robert Downey Jr or one of the SNL guys.
God are they unfunny now.
And what's she doing with her hands
Acting catty?
)O(
I can't write this enough. "FOX NEWS...SHUT UP. You're just sounding stupid."
Sounding stupid to us, but the ignorant will say, "He's got a suit on, so he must be smarter than me."
Murkins DO want their politicians to seem dumber than they, the citizens, are.
Murkins are schooled in stoopit, for no fewer than 12 years. SO Pols have to be pretty good actors, or incredibly stoopit, themselves.
Somehow they seem to manage it...
Yeah right, I mean, the economy is just fuckin peachy right now. Assholes!
This is a laugh riot -- Obama's going to destroy WHAT?? Wait a minute - can we back up here -- what would the vast majority of economists call what the re-thuglics have done to the current economy? Speak up - I can't hear you . . . that's right - THEY DESTROYED IT!
Do we actually have anything left for Obama to destroy? I don't think so!!
The Fox New demographic is and probaly always will be a lost cause.
The Wall Street Journal, on the other hand, ran a "scare" piece the other day that will actually probably bring in a whole bunch more Obama votes:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1224202058898...
I can't for the life of me figure out who they think they're scaring. How many people think accessible, affordable health care for all Americans, increased voter access and voter registration, and investment in green technologies are bad things?
Well...ummm...I mean, c'mon, duh, it's meant to scare the type of person who reads the WSJ - the type of person who finds categorically unacceptable and fights tooth and nail against any legislation that could limit the expansion of their profit margin, regardless of whatever greater social good it might bring.
The type of person, unfortunately, with very deep pockets and deep connections for shaping politics to suit themselves. I'm guessing that was a not-so-veiled plea to reach into those pockets to try to save as many endangered Republican senators as possible, whatever it takes to keep around a caucus that can stop progressive reform in its tracks.
Of course it seems not to bother them a whit that this is the same publication and the same audience that delivered unto us the conservative supermajority that has since obliterated the economy and driven members of the WSJ readership to shoot their families and throw themselves out of windows. Or that the stock market has always historically done better when Democrats are in charge anyway.
I'm really not sure why we keep thinking of these people as being the "smartest guys in the room."
They sure know their audience.
This is like a clarion call to donors to get some money into the hands of all the re-thuglics running - QUICK!
Beware the unwashed masses!!
*
what money
Fox appeals to the I saw it on tv it must be true deep thinking set. Look at the way they act like 24 is a reality program. I turned Fox on yesterday for the first time in years and counted 4 lies in 30 seconds, click, it was gone again.
Someone on the Huffington Post coined a new word to label these fear-mongers and hatred-purveyors: hatriots. Not bad, succinct, and easy to remember...
They're loyal to their hats?
Who wears hats anymore?
)O(
the Cat?
*
Yes, the way patriots are loyal to their pates...
They wore toupees.
The latest talking point is to demagogue about redistribution of wealth.
Class warfare is what republicans always do in stealth, this whining is just projection from the usual crooks.
How will we be able to tell?
ROFLMAO! Thats funny.
I saw Bill "the gambling Idiot" Bennett on some show the other night for about 10 seconds (I couldn't find the remote). He was begging Americans to think "if liberalism is what they really want, and to please really really consider that before you vote."
Poor Bill, he won't have $400,000 to piss away gambling anymore if he actually pays the amount of taxes his worthless, hypocrite, fat-ass should be paying.
Say hello to Mr. 94% marginal (retroactive?) tax rate Billy! Tax these bastards until they shit their pants!
Let's not let the Faux noise network stick the Bush Depression onto Obama quite yet. Bush has ravaged our American economy through continued outsourcing of our manufacturing and high tech jobs to overseas locations. Endless stupid imperial occupations are costly too.
By the way,
William Ayers was no “domestic terrorist.” This is just another lie perpetrated by McCain and Palin and their right-wing sound machine. William Ayers had been a peaceful anti-Vietnam war protestor in the late 1960s until he got so frustrated in his inability to stop the American terrorism against the Vietnamese people that he and others resorted to vandalism and property destruction as a form of protest. In Chicago, they blew up a statue (twice!). This was a statue dedicated to the policemen that had been active in the ongoing brutal suppression of union organizers in the Chicago area in 1866. This was vandalism and property destruction. No one, to my knowledge, was “terrorized.” Not the right-wingers who supported the war on Vietnam, nor the Congressmen who voted to fund the war. The U. S. war on the Vietnamese people continued on, unabated. I was an anti-Vietnam war protestor myself in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Anyone with a conscience was an anti-Vietnam war protestor back then.
However, John McCain was a terrorist in Vietnam. He bombed Vietnamese peasants in the northern part of Vietnam from 25,000 feet in the sky. It was a cowardly and vicious act. These bombings were war crimes and acts of terror.
Bush is the biggest terrorist in the 21st century, with his many acts of terror and aggression against the Afghani and Iraqi people. Bush has terrorized over one million Iraqis into their graves. Bush is a war criminal. McCain has been cheerleading and supporting Bush terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. McCain has even advocated using military terror against Iran, which his infamous “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.”
Today William Ayers is respected education professor in the Chicago area. He was appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, the same educational foundation board as Senator Barak Obama by William Annenberg, the former U. S. Ambassador to England, appointed by President Ronald Reagan.
Mr. Annenberg created the Annenberg Foundation, which sponsored the brilliant and innovative “French in Action” language learning series which has appeared on PBS television for many years. This is the same Annenberg Foundation also sponsors the current PBS television show, Washington Week in Review.
Ayers along with other weathermen did participate in the bombings of the Pentagon in 1972. I've personally met a member of the weather underground and he is a fantastic guy, but we can't lie about history. The Weather Underground was a terrorist organization there is no running away from it. Was it justified? That might be debatable but surely we can all admit bombing police stations, state department facilities, and the Pentagon qualifies as terrorist actions.
Are these idiots going to stick him in Mr Peabody's WABAC Machine to make it come true?
Oh never mind. It doesn't need to be true on FOX 'News'
I am amazed at the ability of extreme republicans to ignore the reality of what is happening under their rule and "predict" what has already taken place with a straight face. The Rove years are coming to an end. Lets get to work rebuilding this country.
Their personal wealth is their measurement of the economy.
Unfortunately, the handful of idiots I know who are still dumb enough to be republicans, are being screwed royally, or HAVE already been screwed royally by the GOP.
They are just plain stupid: and unless Bush were to have sex with McCain in their living rooms while burning the bible, I don't think these morons are ever going to change!
Luckily, their numbers are down in the 30% range now, so we can take our country back finally.
So what are we up to now?
He's black. He's Muslim. He's a terrorist. He's a Marxist. He's a baby killer. He's inexperienced. He'll destroy the economy (as if it NEEDS destroying!). he's...[fill in your character assasination hot word].
The next two weeks are all in Karl Rove's hands. By the time they are done with him, many voters will walk, hands shaking, into the voting booths and wonder how they ever thought they could have voted for Obama.
It's disgusting, pathetic, plays to the basest emotions in people and just might work.
The only amusing thing I see about Fox lately is that they seem to be making an effort to employ more African Americans than they had before; because they've got to find black folks that appear rational enough to offset their obvious generalized racism.
Hopefully these people will reclaim their souls and find gainful teevee work elsewhere once they've proved their teleprompter skills.
An Obama White House should completely shut FoxNews out -- FoxNews is polarizing, unfairly partisan, and bad for the United States of America.
but since they are the biggest bunch of WATB's around, it won't happen. ah, but in my fantasies...Fox goes the way of the Dodo and none of their lying scumbags would ever be employed again.
I need a cigarette now.
Ummmm... it's too late to ruin the economy. Bush did that already.
Just typical Fox Noise.
Interesting they say Obama will bring financial Armageddon to the US, while we already have Armageddon at the doorstep thanks to the Party that Wrecked America.
They are running so scared....
It is a great time to live in Northeastern Wisconsin! Time-Warner is at war with the local FOX channel about rates, and as a result we cannot receive FOX at all! Sadly, there's no Judge Judy or COPS to watch either. On balance, however, I believe I win.
eom
Fox gone in NE WI, the AP being dropped at a great rate due to their new pricing structure. I wonder what it might be like to return to the days when we didn't know which anchors/journalists were for what politicians, they actually asked real questions and kept asking them til they got responses.
Yeah, I am showing my age. Dreamland...that's where I am.
Of course, this engine of lies and hate wasn't around in 1992, but Iclearly recall how right-wingers were saying the same thing back then: that Clinton would be death to the economy. How'd that work out
?
Have to ask Paulson and Rubin...
They're the guys who made out like ass-pirates when Clenis signed the Gramm-Leach-Bliley bill...
Obviously these pundits don’t know many people that make less than $250,000/yr. WATBs.
I've got news for Faux news and any of the rest of their
worshipers-------the repuplican party and this administration has already destroyed this economy. Faux and their corporate sponsers and their racist republican talking heads are reponsible for what has happened to this country and no one else!
You know, McCain says he doesn't care about a "washed-up terrorist." But why does he keep bringing him up? He keeps saying that he wants Obama to reveal the full extent of his relationship with Ayers.
You know who McCain sounds like when he says this? He sounds like George W. Bush, when Bush kept on saying that he wanted Saddam Hussein to reveal the full extent of his WMD program.
Like Bush, McCain is trying to make something out of nothing.
if only the umlaut had the ability to turn a inflammatory remarks into a sub-conscious brain washing.
"FOX NEWS Saturday Stock Show propaganda round up: Obama will destroy the economy"
- ???
It's already destroyed!
that is already destroyed?
First: The economy is already in ruins thanks to the GOP.
Second: Obama's spread the wealth comment related shifting the tax burden away from the middle clase and to the super rich, a departure from the last 8 years where it's been the other way round, FOXaganda of course knows this but they will say anything to win.
How could he possibly destroy what Republican federal deregulation and Republican corporate greed has already destroyed???
If that's going to be Obama's speciality -- can we get him to focus on China? or Russia? I'm inclined to leave Europe and Japan alone. How about Cuba - isn't there some damage that could still be done there? And if this is a true area of expertise, maybe he could take on Canada and decimate what's left of Mexico and parts of South America. That might make our economy look good.
He can save Australia and Africa for his second term.
*
and Obama is not the president. Since the stock market and our financial markets are essentially based on confidence and trust, I predict that at least some aspects of our economy will rally with the election of Obama. How long that will last is anybody's guess, but hopefully there will a little breathing space so that some "New Deal-2008" initiatives can be implemented.
THIS NOVEMBER 4TH, PARTY WITH FOX NEWS
I’m a Manic-Depressant. Today, of course, THEY prefer the term Bi-Polar. Now, there are a group of birds that cannot stand the dark. So every July, you will find them at the North Pole. They then migrate, sometime in December, to the South Pole. That means that every year, these birds travel 24,000 miles. Now that is what you call bi-polar.
Around June of this year, I found myself exceedingly depressed. For over a year, Hilary’s negative quotient was extremely high. So was Baraak’s, I had given up. So I wrote the DNC and suggested that they dump the entire primary process and by acclamation, choose two of our finest democratic Senators who never even participated in this process.
I realized that Hillary had obtained over18,000,000 votes, but her negatives were through the ceiling. And who is going to vote for a black guy whose middle name is Hussain? Once again, I figured in the extreme depressed side of my brain, the American People would fall for messages from the dark side of the force.
Why not dump this charade and come up with the perfect democratic ticket” There is a n extremely gifted senator from Nebraska whom I see regularly on the sitcom “C-Span”, all the time. And her name is Lincoln, Nancy Lincoln. She has that mix of a western and southern drawl that voters have been programmed to like. She is well versed, speaks with determination and without the ehs or ahs or hesitation so often heard on that sitcom.
The second part of the ticket would be occupied by the man who beat one of the only republicans I ever liked, Senator Chaffee. Senator Whitehouse has been performing admirable during some of the committee hearings, and he is always prepared and he is a hard worker. He has a slight lisp, but then again, my favorite senator over the last two decades was the late Senator Paul Wellstone
and I think it gives Senator Whitehouse an endearing kind of flaw that could really sell.
The point of all this was that I figured it would be difficult, if not impossible to vote against the Lincoln/Whitehouse ticket. In the depths of my mental morass, I just assumed that a good portion of the electorate does not give a damn about real issues. They do not really know anything about the global economy, or global trade, or global warming, or global disease let alone the real problems facing this nation. Elections are sold on sound bites and individual biases that coalesce in certain groupings in this country.
Again, how could a Lincoln Whitehouse lose? What could the Republicans say in their ads? Vote against the socialist, terrorist, welfare lovers Lincoln Whitehouse? I had it all figured out.
But do you know what? Not only did the DNC not respond to my brilliant concept, but they did not even bother to send me a contribution request.
Anyway, at this time and place, I cannot think when I was more optimistic about the future. Barack Husein Obama and one of my favorite senators of all time, Joe Biden, are going to win this election. Of course, this could all be attributed to my new medication, but all these blogs are so optimistic. And the conservative blogs are all involved in blaming other conservatives. And the republicans who appear on cable can only come up with old, dried up slogans like:
Tax and spend liberals.
Creeping Socialism.
Abortion lovers; baby killers
White flag wavers.
Etc. Etc., etc.
On some of the blogs and in some of the newspapers the conservatives are already predicting a landslide win by democrats and a huge back-lash in 2010. The prime fascist on MSNBC, Buchanan, has been featuring this back-lash argument for over a week. (By the way Barnacle, who are you kidding? Don’t you ever read his books? In at least two of them he praises Hitler as a courageous leader; he contends that Hitler was not responsible for the holocaust, and continues to tell the world–for a profit-that the United States of America fought on the wrong side in WWII. He despises any black person who stands up for his or her rights, he hates Jews–yes just read his books- and he wants all our immigrants to come from Northern Europe. This guy actually thinks that Plessey vs. Ferguson was a dead-on decision and that the Brown Decisions almost destroyed this country, and that the Segregated South was doing just fine without Northern interference.)
At any rate, the real point of this piece–I am going to hold a huge party for election night. I am going to rent a hall. I am going to have at least 10 gigantic wide screen TVs. Big flat screens.
I am going to have the best wine, the best beer and the best American Whiskey I can find. Hors D’oeuvres will be found everywhere in the hall. Champaign will be served by the best of waiters and waitresses as soon as our ticket is declared to be over the top.
There will be a huge dance floor and in the background the Beatles will be played all night.
But the music will be low background. Low background so that everyone will be able to hear noise coming from Fox News. Why Fox News ?
Because during the 2006 elections, with no computer, I was taking notes while I watched CNN and MSNBC. I kept watching the boards to see if the first female Democrat was going to be elected Speaker of the House of Representatives. I wrote a note:
To actually weep while watching election returns when my team was winning.
Who’d a thought?
I stayed up all night until that son-of-bitch from Virginia conceded to Senator-Elect Webb. Montana returns came in before that and I swear, I jumped of the sofa and dumped Pepsi all over the floor.
But as I watched the returns on MSNBC and CNN, I would switch to Fox, from time to time.
Fox’s projections were behind the others or certain congressional races were being precipitously given to the Republicans. Even by mid morning, Fox was giving some races to Republicans outright or saying that those races were too close to call.
Weeks later Fox was still disputing some races, although I remember the Democrat who could not get seated in January. We got that back when the Democrats were 3 for 3 in the special elections since 2006.
And the wailing and gnashing of teeth was sooooo much fun to watch. Interspersed in Fox’s delivery was the blame game.
Why didn’t Bush do this? or
Why didn’t Bush do that? or
Why didn’t the RNC do this? or
Why didn’t the RNC do that? or
How could the American Electorate do this?
This blame game was so much fun to watch. But I kept having to go back to my standard news programs to find out exactly how the election was going.
Can you imagine how this election is going to be played out on November 4th by Fox News? Yelling, arguing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and tons of denial.
Oh they will ramble on and on about how the election would have gone during these terrible times if someone other than Obama had been the Democratic standard bearer. I can hear it now:
With the biggest economic crash since ‘29 (or 32, or 87, or whatever), the Democrats should have picked up 60 seats in the House and 20 seats in the Senate. or
If the American People really believed in the socialist doctrines spewed by Obama he would have won 400 electoral votes instead of 350,, or
Due to the slimness of the Democratic victory, 2010 is the Republican’s for the taking. or
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah......
After awhile, I can have the Beatles turned up and just mute Fox to look at the expressions on their faces. I assure you, these expressions will make McCain’s facial expressions
during the debates look positively benign.
Representative Hyde, just before his death, apologized for Clinton’s Impeachment. He admitted that it was just pay back for Nixon’s Impeachment Hearings. Pure revenge.
After witnessing Nixon’s reelection in 1972, Reagan’s election in 1980, and the reelection of the most evil and most inept (thank god) president in 80 or 90 years’, revenge will never taste so sweet.
But the full range and nuanced flavors of that revenge will be had while watching Fox.
Just to be safe however, I will wait to turn the channels until after the Midwest returns are in.
"Can you imagine how this election is going to be played out on November 4th by Fox News? Yelling, arguing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and tons of denial."
Simple. In typical yellow-journalism style they'll proclaim, "Fraud at Polls".
IDIOT ALERT! The economy has already been destroyed under George Neo-nut Bush.
Dumb asses!
it's not Bush and his criminal party that screwed up our economy to the point where they could claim the only way to fix it was to give $700 billion to the corporate criminals who got us into this mess in the first place. It's the posibility of a future Obama administration that caused all the trouble. I guess that is supposed to make sense and if you hate America the way Republicans do I guess it would make sense.
In 1993 the Republicans were apoplectic about Clinton's economic plan. They were all screaming about how it would destroy the economy and the country. It passed without a single Republican vote. It also ushered in the longest period of prosperity and fiscal discipline in my lifetime.
The more upset they get about Obama's plan, the more optimistic and hopeful I will become.
It's too late for Obama to destroy the economy. Bush already has!
Of couse Bush is past news. Conservative free market is old news.
Don't be concerned with who and how we got here.
These are the real terrorists in America.
Selling out Americans on our own networks.
I'm watching fox and friends right now, and they had a friend of bill Ayers defending him saying that although he had a bad past, hes a responsible educator now. And The two Hosts attacked him, when all he was saying was "Yes Obama KNEW him, but what does that have to do with him and his campaign?"
I think that FOX NEWS is completely against Obama, and is reporting unfairly. They only report on things PRO McCain, and everything is against Obama.
I know tons of people, and not all of them are good? So does that make me bad? SCREW FOX NEWS
