I never watch Glenn Beck either, I just read about him on blogs and then e-mail CNN, saying that if I knew who the sponsors were, I would boycott them, but since I don't watch the show, I don't know!

How can some people here want free speech but at the same time want to stifle it by bringing back the fairness doctrine? In essence to shut down, Beck, Rush, and Sean. They have the right to free speech as much as anyone else.
This makes no sense.
I've never listened to Beck, but Sean 'The Racist Bigot Hypocrite' Hannity is so full of hatred it is sickening. I no longer even flip over to the Fixed Noise Channel, what with all the radical, right-wingers spewing forth lie after lie after lie.
As to Rush Limpbrain (actually he is better known with something else that's limp...assuming he even has one to begin with) he is well known as The Grand Wizard of the Florida KKK. Personally I just think he is a clown and if all his dildoheads want to listen to his garbage jokes each day it's fine with me. I've never expected a Republican to do anything other than listen to a comedy show and on Saturday mornings watch cartoons. That is about their level of intelligence.
I don't care for Hannity at all -- mostly because of his religious attitude and his positions on abortion, drugs, etc.
But you are way off target with Rush. You may not agree with his positions, but he is far from a racist and he is one smart dude. I guess he's too smart for you, or, perhaps you just don't have the mettle for real and civil debate. Stick with CNN and MSNBC et all. That way, you can continue to live in your cozy little bubble world.

beck's hate-spew should not be endorsed by any organization seeking to establish a trusting and respectful relationship with its audience.... he should be left to fend for himself by standing on a soapbox on a street-corner... at least at pox, all the nut-bars can gather together in one location and be avoided en-mass... or fawned over for their vile, bilious spew by drones who thrive on hatred... that way, when violence does erupt, a clear connection can be drawn between social anarchy and the influence of daily doses of encouragement engaged in by that sham of a propaganda machine... and after taking the brunt of responsibility for their irresponsible behaviour in the pocketbook, they may even learn their same lesson that you seem to need to learn... if you're lucky, and you time it right, you may be able to share a cell with hannity... just don't complain if he makes you his bitch... ;-)

It is very simple. Like Pro Choice. If you make thier choice you are right. If not you are wrong.
Same with radio, you should only have their choice, thier view, with no discent. That is what the Fairness doctrine will accomplish. Our schools are already working very hard to eliminate Patriotism, teaching children there are no poundries to countries, we are all just one big happy world.
It is necessary the stomp out Patriotism, Faith, and awarness of the personal. As was said in this campaign, we all in this to gether, we must be equal, we can have no absolute right or wrong, Faith gets in the way with their Bibles. Wee mush share our pie.

A couple of things to keep in mind, Sean, Rush, Glen, can NOT MAKE anyone do anything. If people actually think that, then you believe a lot of people are morons and can not think for themselves.
Second point is this, there are reasons there are other stations on the radio and the TV.... no one is being forced to watch or listen to anything, you can always change the channel. There is a reason why Rush's program is one of the most listened to in America and why Air America is at the bottom.
Glenn is the best thing over at CNN headline. He brings real people, with out pre printed talking points. They can actually say something off their little index card.

But, why in the world do Chris 'Hardball', David 'Race For The Whitehouse', and Rachel Maddow, have Pat on their shows? Everyone I know immediately switches to CNN or to the Tiddley-Winks championships when Pat starts to scream at anyone who'll listen ('course no one ever does though). MSNBC's ratings will go up big in once Pat moves to the Fixed Noise Channel.

First, no one on this thread has brought up the Fairness Doctrine but you.
Second, what we progressives know that you don't is that the Fairness Doctrine, when applied, held only over-the-air broadcasters responsible, not cable channels.
And lastly, following the last point, no one has a right to broadcast over the air from inside the country using AM, FM or a few other types of radio wavelengths. The federal government grants licenses, much like the individual states grant drivers licenses. And like the latter, the former are not a right but a privilege.

I am some what surprised..
for as much as Glen Beck goes against some of my views, he does have an interesting show. He is somewhat of a balance that I think all networks need, you can't always just hear your views. But with this move, I hope he keeps picking the wide range and different views of guest that he has. It will show some of the close minded people that watch fox, people they would normally never give much of a chance.
I've seen very interesting shows with Rev. Run last week on there. He has the CNN Ali guy on their a good amount, and I've seen some other people. I know some will say Bill invites alot of different people, but when guest come on Glen's show he actaully have good conversations and light debates with them.
I do wish Lou would just not have his own show anymore, he used to be a favorite of mines, but once he felt no one was listening to him in 2006, he starting going very extreme with this border stuff.
Not quite. Journalism used to be about researching stories, uncovering facts, and substantive debate. Faux has bastardized the medium with their “fair and balanced” fantasy and infotainment BS to the point where propaganda is accepted as normal. It is not.
