And the hate from the McCain/Palin supporters continues. Check out this video.

CBS News:

As the crowd cheered at a Sarah Palin rally this morning in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a man in the audience grinned as he held up a stuffed monkey doll with a Barack Obama bumper sticker wrapped across its forehead.

After Palin finished her remarks this morning, the man holding the stuffed monkey seemed to notice that a video camera was pointed at him, at which point he removed the Obama sticker from the doll’s head and crumpling it up in his hand. He then handed the doll to a young boy who was watching the rally from his father’s shoulders. The boy’s parents later told CBS News that they weren’t acquainted with the man who gave their son the stuffed monkey

As I wrote before, this is an extension of the psychotic behavior being injected into our society from right wing talk shows, Malkinite bloggers and movement conservatives. Sadly, it'll only get worse during the closing weeks of the campaign and will continue onward and upward after the election.

Do you guys (and gals) get email from the Obama campaign? they are asking for help volunteering to make phone call and such. Would you mind if I post the information every now and again? Obama needs as much help as he can get.

Everyone here knows how to access the Obama site and sign up, if they want.

Anyone who has signed up has gotten the same information you have. Posting it here is just going to be redundant, and clutter the response thread further.

If you want to provide a link, make the Obama volunteer form your "homepage" in your replies.

I'll be phone banking at the local campaign office later this week.

After years of people claiming racial problems and racism are a thing of the past and that all Americans have the same rights it seems all the nation needed to expose this lie was a black man on the verge of becoming President of the United States.

No one should ever try to bullshit me again!

Anonymous's picture

In some parts of the country, race is nearly a non-issue. Most of the western US is not as racially Balkanized as the mid-Atlantic and parts of the South are. Until I visited those areas, I was firmly in the "thing of the past" camp, because I'd never seen racism able to gain traction. And someone from New Jersey who'd never been elsewhere would be just as unable to understand how anyone could think racism isn't a big deal in the US.

Yelling at the whole country about racism will just turn people who were on your side or neutral against you.

I keep hearing that moderator for a game of limbo. How low can ya go?

But wait, this is the "moral" party folks. What are you thinking? They are just joking around. They don't really mean what they are saying.

Frankly, I'm worried for Obama's safety. These people are hateful and ugly.

Lyon's picture

I'll be amazed if he makes to the end of his first term without someone trying to put a bullet in him...

ak-youth4obama's picture

I really do feel uneasy about the safety of Obama these days, and more so *WHEN* he becomes president. Most kids around or above my age embrace the idea of a black man as president. Race is not even a factor to most who actually pay attention to what's going on...but the fact of the matter is: I live in New York. I don't know many people {that I can tolerate} to be conservative or racist. Even my super-conservative, racist, Italian, Great Uncle of Nassau County, LI is not falling for the BS that deteriorating 72 year old and his clueless, evil, joke of a woman are gabbing about these days.

Now take a trip about 200 miles north and hang a left and you'll find yourself in another world. A world full of bigotry, ignorance, and, well, something very close to a Middle American nightmare. Teens are misguided, taught hatred, and expected to follow the same ideals as their elders. These kids scare me. I've witnessed hatred spewing out of one's dirt-smearing pick up truck "elegantly" decorated with a confederate flag and dear antlers. Just the type of kids who would have the hots for Bullwiklette, (MILF would be the term, I believe).

I am very grateful to have been brought up on morals that weren't shoved down my throat, in fear of damnation if not practiced. Color, religion, or any other differences were never issues causing "friendship boundaries". Thank goodness for a fair shot at growing up, that I wasn't made to feel hate towards people with different backgrounds.

As part of our youth today I am VERY interested in change (my future depends on it, although I think the past 8 years may have already ruined my chances of true success) and it's obvious that the McSame/Failin ticket isn't it!! I just wish monsters like this silly old geezer using a stuffed monkey as a racist "joke" would get a clue- it's far from funny and you look like a dick! :)

My point being, the Secret Service better be doing their jobs. Obama is an asset to this country and it would be a sad day a knucklehead, of any age, were to destroy a life like his! The eerie truth is, our nation is still plagued with bigoted, racist, uneducated, and morally-tainted people, both young and old, that scare me... more than any "foreign terrorist". YIKES!

Even in the disgusting and frightening videos of mccain/PALIN supporters calling Sen. And many of these, obviously filled with bile, nonetheless wouldn't repeat or expand on their catcalls directly when asked.

xoites defends Constitution's picture

Today i am 52 and i am white (at least that is what they say i am) i can not agree with you more. :)

xoites defends Constitution's picture

Want to know what racists fear the most? That they will learn they are wrong. It is very interesting to note that many racists over the years have found out they were wrong and guess what happened? That's right! They stopped being racists. Trust me i know this from personal experience. Even though my mother was very progressive and against racism (she had a few misconceptions ingrained in her head as a child of the 1920s and '30s about slaves and how much better off they were before the Emancipation Proclamation) i was surrounded by racists as a child. I was also lucky to end up at an integrated camp for three summers and slowly and later rapidly the world around me changed dramatically.

If Obama becomes President many of these people's beliefs will be challenged. At some point the "AHA!" moment will come and they probably will no longer be racists. Not all of them, but i am betting a lot of them will see the world totally differently.

At least that is my most fervent hope.

Antiwar Protestor Disrupts McCain Iowa Rally

By Michael D. Shear
DAVENPORT, Iowa -- An antiwar protestor interrupted Sen. John McCain's rally Saturday morning, prompting a lecture from the Republican presidential nominee about the need for both parties to work together to solve America's problem.

As McCain began his speech to about 1,000 people, a young woman was hoisted onto the shoulders of some friends right in front of the main bank of television cameras.

She held up a poster that said "War is over" but her sign was quickly ripped down by people in the audience. She then held up her hands in the "V" symbol for peace and yelled, "We want peace!"

McCain stopped speaking and at one point tried to speak to her, saying, "Hi." The audience quickly started chanting "We want John!" and continued until the woman was pulled down from her friends' shoulders and escorted out.

McCain then offered a lecture about bipartisanship.

"There's a perfect example of some people that just don't get it," he said, prompting huge applause from the crowd.

Palin is absolutely right when she states that Obama sees America differently than these people.

Obama sees a country guided by high principles and the rule of law, where the government is of the people and for the people and where all citizens have equal standing under the law and equal opportunity in society.

They don't... and they're scared that they are losing their grip on power. This is why we are seeing these pathetic, childish, petty mobs feeding on the collective ignorance being spewed by the right wing propaganda machine.

Billy Shears's picture

I don't think it's exactly "that they are losing their grip on power." I think it's much more psychological than that. I think they are losing their personal identities.

Why would anyone waste their life by filling themselves with such hatred?

Because somewhere in the equation there has to be a payoff.

So what's the payoff for hatred?

It gives small miserable people a great and righteous sense of purpose -and the purpose of that hatefulness can fill up a big hole in an empty person.

I have some (bad..) news for you --

The hate IS IN THE SOCIETY. It has NOT been "injected" by Rush, Michelle,
or anyone else. It is what we are surrounded with, period.

There may be some effect from the constant validation of myths and misinformation from Fox News and others who masquerade as legitimate sources of information. It helps them to believe unquestioningly, things that they might otherwise have doubts about. Why else would a woman at some McCain town hall meeting say she's afraid of Obama because he's an Arab?

It's actually getting quite interesting, now that McCain has seemingly seen the need to at least respond to some of the ignorance. He did correct a woman about Obama being an Arab, and told his followers (to much booing) that they should show respect to Obama.

So now he's stuck in a conundrum. His most vociferous supporters are so filled with Rush Limbaugh-type misinformation, that even McCain has to deny some of it now, because it is so obviously untrue. He can't have it both ways. Either he has to get his hands filthy dirty with the slime of total dishonesty, or he has to refute some of the worst myths that his own operatives (and himself) have helped spread.

How's he going to stay balanced on that tightrope for very long?

Yes, Bush has been called a chimp, which never had anyone here shouting "racism!". You have no leg to stand on. Enough "racist" witch hunting and let's just talk about real issues.

Just like "That one!" comment had nothing to do with racism. I'm really sick of blogs like this calling every little thing evidence of racism. This guy's pet monkey is stronger evidence than most, but wolf has been cried too many times that it just looks like a disingenuous pattern. It's annoying. I'm voting for Obama, but I don't go around saying that people who aren't are racist. It doesn't help the cause AT ALL. And I think its intellectually dishonest a lot of times.

But we all look like apes. We are apes. Even the expensively dressed, "upmarket" Latin American whites yelling "mono" at Chavez and Morales look as much like primates as the people they're insulting. Caught with a kid's toy. That is more appropriate to his primitive reptilian brain. Most of these people behave that way because they feel neutered. They feel inferior that a black man will be their 'lord and master.'

Most posters here have their moral compass set staight, but beware of false security. What the last 8 years have shown us is that most Americans who voted are of the reptilian brain type, and Sara Palin is the symbolic snake that seems to have drawn more out from under their rocks than ever before. Looking from outside of the USA since JFK, I'm more worried now than I have ever been. These people will vote with anger, because they are afraid their deepest fears will come true. Lose their jobs, lose their homes, lose their money and a black man is President. Is that going to be too much to ask? Personally, I think Obama should have taken a slower route and began as VP, he has plenty of time, and more time for the general public to get used to him. I think a Biden/Obama ticket is more realistic in these troubled times. I HOPE I'M WRONG.PLEASE DON'T GET COMPLACENT.

I think the press should investigate these idiots that Palin and McCain are bringing out from beneath the rocks that these idiots have been living under. What better way to shed more light on the ignorance than to let them speak and allow all of America and the World to see them for what they are…idiots!

Make sure link this picture on all the blogs you visit. Someone will eventually recognize this man and shame him directly.

Expression and speech is one of the best things about our country. You get to see these assholes and then shun them.

Seriously, I've met plenty of people like this guy over they years. They wrap themselves in racial hate to cover their insecurities and personal failings.

LOSER!

He got filmed outside the arena, chuckling and giggling to himself, and waving his Obama stickered monkey at the camera crews.

How cute. He's actually rather pleased with himself in the outdoor video, I suppose because he thinks he's with people who agree with him, the people across the street are his enemy, and the people taping him are on his side. It's not until he sees that there's a national network taping him that he decides to give up his little friend.

and immediately think, "child molester."

And further, think he's thinking, "crap, if a liberal gets in...they'll probably crack down on child molesters" (as opposed to the Larry Craig, Robert Allen, Mark Foley lovin' party).

It certainly is what sprung to my mind.

I saw his face and instantly thought, Child Molester too. Or peeping Tom.

All the racists had been pushed into the closet and now they have a reason to come out. Racism still exists and I experience it almost every day.

Great thats just great. The Republican party is the new Nazi Party.
It's scary to know that the rise of Hitler's power happen during the German depression ERA too. It's so obvious, Whats next if Obama loses he and his family will be the first to be exterminated in Gitmo. Are they going to build crematorium there and start deporting people of color there. THATS JUST GREAT THE GREAT AMERICA THE NEW NAZI GERMANY.

I have to say, if Palin want's to "go there", maybe she should be careful before throwing stones. I mean, a "conservative" who was apparently pregnant when she got married; I infer this based on the fact that her first born was delivered 8 months after she "eloped". How about the fact that she's such a good role model, her own daughter apparently followed in her mother's moral footsteps. Let's face it, Palin would have been one of the first to grab a rock, when the crowd wanted to stone the prostitute when Jesus pronounced that classic line. The fact that she's been implicated in ETHICS violations. This does not show good judgement, or moral fiber in any sense of the word.

Personally, I respected John McCain for years, right up to the time that I heard he nominated Palin, a HUGE mistake of judgement, showing his pandering to the extreme right in order to try to garner votes.

I had to go through three commercials to get to the damn video.

That said, this dude looks very creepy. I don't think I'd trust him with my kids.

PA is strange - I live smack in the middle of 'Pennsyltucky' and am not surprised this douchebag was in Johnstown. At the same time, however my admiration for the City of Brotherly Love is growing more and more each day especially after last night's Flyers game.

I wouldn't worry much about PA tho' - Pitt and Philly will carry Obama like they've done for most every democrat in the past few elections. Give Obama the state.

Jokes like this have been around for a long time:

http://www.jcnot4me.com/Items/spoofs/the_bush...

Double standard much? Does Obama not kind of look like Curious George? My southeast Asian girlfriend has pointed that out. Both of us are huge Obama supporters, and we've volunteered and given money. If the Curious George doll is inherently racist, then so is the collage at the link above--but no one here has ever said that.

I think this guy clearly look embarrassed. Maybe for just being on camera. Can we just ease up on the racists witch hunt? I'm seeing "You're a terrorist!" on the right, and "You're a racist!" on the left and it's just freaking sad. Maybe this guy is racist, or maybe he's just poking fun at Obama's appearance... either way, it's a distraction and it wouldn't hurt our cause to give it people the benefit of the doubt. I think overarching stigmatization will be counter-productive at this point in time.

What a chucklef@ck! Keep your children away from racist Mr. McCreapy. I hope Homeland Security is all over his shit.
