... of Jeff Sessions lecturing Sonia Sotamayor on the dangers of prejudice, doesn't the fact that a bunch of white men are getting their knickers in a twist over the 'wise Latina' comment simply show that Sotamayor is correct? (Even though the comment was not a generality, but addressing a specific issue.)
sums it up unempathetically - unless the silly woman has a meltdown this thing is only good for scoring political points. Thank you to the excellent Mr. Feingold for succinctly defining activism as well..
Perfect end to the recap would be clip of Beck from the end of the day, complaining about all the softball questions asked of Sotomayor, even though the day was for introductions and opening statements and there was no questioning.
The audacity of this career bigot chastising this decent, humble, overqualified scholarly woman any American should been proud of makes me want to vomit. Any fairminded citizen ought to be embarrassed witnessing the life long race hater Sessions contradict himself with every utterence.
A complete waste of Judge Sotomayor's time.

"Republicans' outrage, both real and feigned, at Sotomayor's musings about how her identity as a "wise Latina" might affect her judicial decisions is based on a flawed assumption: that whiteness and maleness are not themselves facets of a distinct identity. Being white and male is seen instead as a neutral condition, the natural order of things. Any "identity" -- black, brown, female, gay, whatever -- has to be judged against this supposedly "objective" standard."

Liz Cheney showed up this morning on Morning Joe and brought a small army of straw men with her. She managed to talk over Eugene Robinson to the point of the audience not hearing much of what Eugene had to say. I guess daddy sent her out to play defense for him.
I was hoping Eugene would get to talk about his editorial today, but the whole time was spent talking about whether or not Old Shooter broke any laws.
