CA "Family Values" Republican Michael Duvall Brags Over Live Mic About Spanking His Young, Lobbyist Mistress

I've said for years that most politicians are in bed with lobbyists, but in the case of California Republican Michael Duvall, he's actually getting his freak on with one. Duvall gets the Jesse Jackson treatment, getting caught with an open microphone, bragging about making love and spanking his much younger mistress:

"So I am getting into spanking her...yeah, I like it."

This bit of gotcha journalism wouldn't interest me much, but for the fact that Duvall considers himself to be one of those family values Republicans -- who just happens to be having kinky sex outside of his marriage.
Wow, the republicans have discovered "spanking." Ohhhh, those wild sex beasts. But how many milligrams of sildenafil were required?
It's better than when Enron was directly screwing the ratepayers.
Didn't anyone notice that this was sex with a lobbyist? This is like taking a bribe - it isn't just extramarital sex with a 'civilian.' You can bet there was a quid pro quo there.

It's at minimum an unethical conflict of interest on its face for a lawmaker to engage in sexual relations with lobbyists who do business before that lawmaker. Let's now look at how Duvall voted on matters on which those lobbyists lobbied him.

I have come to the conclusion that it would not be fair to my family, my constituents or to my friends on both sides of the aisle to remain in office.

Well, here's an idea: going after every one of these God-forsaken "family values" politicians, exposing them for the lying hypocrits that they are, and forcing them to resign in shame, or face the wrath of their constituents.

Having said that, it's probably safe to assume there are many more state Assembly/Senate members who are dealing in the same types of hanky-panky but they are more discreet. We know they're from both parties.

Just for accuracy's sake: the Wikipedia article was in error and we have corrected it. Chapman University did not present Duvall with the "Ethics in America" Award in 2000. That award was presented by the Passkeys Foundation, in an event that happened to be held on the Chapman campus. Many outside organizations rent or borrow rooms or auditoriums on campus for their events. This report was also promulgated by an erroneous Associated Press story that said Chapman had presented the award. We have also contacted AP in an attempt to get them to correct this error.
