As a vet, I favor DADT.
I knew two gay men in the Navy and they were treated differently than everyone else. It was obvious.
They put up with it until their enlistments were up, but not everyone can endure the treatment.
DADT allows gays who do join an outlet to get out if the hazing and ridicule becomes too great and the chain of command isn't supportive.
