Instaputz: GOP misses Matlock, grumbles
A plain blog about politics: Will pre-passage extreme rhetoric have any effect at all on post passage impressions?
Right Wing Watch: Inexplicably, this guy is portrayed as a 'moderate' but he's really just another gay -hating, creationism-loving, extremist
The Political Carnival: Taxpayers are spending more than $40,000 per month on office space, staff, cell phones and a leased SUV for former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, even as he works as a lobbyist for private corporations and foreign governments.
The Poor Man Institute: What about sunny Somalia?
ANNALS OF JOURNALISM: Hacktakular Cohen on sexism…The Flying Noon outdoes herself...Worst WaPo columnists of the zeros...Drum Roll, please...Moonie Times goes out with a joke...RIP Editor & Publisher...Your head will explode...Tucker Carlson scoop...Mainstream priorities...Oil and Vinegar!...Thomas Frank is right...Iraq Today...

A good morning read and an interesting take:
Jane Hamsher convinced me: Pass The Bill!
Sometimes a person wants something so bad they get the exact opposite. Jane nearly always convinces me to do the opposite of what she blathers on about.

Junk politics, as in attack the messenger, without addressing issues.

Several days ago I emailed myself the link to the whole Southpark episode, Eating With Your Butt.
Yesterday I emailed myself a link about What Does the Bible Say About Prosperity Gospel?
When I go into Yahoo mail, I just noticed yesterday, that my contacts read, "What Does the Bible Say About Eating With Your Butt."

Things have gotten so nasty in the Senate that GOP whackjobs like Tom Coburn are actually wishing disability or death on their weakest colleagues. That's how desperate they've become.

The ever so classy Michael Steele said the healthcare bill is like "flipping the bird" to the American people. I don't have a link but I heard a tape of it on Morning Joe. Seems Michael also has a book coming out and he's giving speeches and charging thousands of dollars for doing it. The republicans say this has never been done before by any chairman. I guess the Republican's Obama isn't working out all that well for them.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

At the very least this arrangement needs to be examined by an independent auditor to assure taxpayer funds are not being used for lobbying purposes. In a situation like this perception and reality could be indistinguishable. And why would anyone trust a GOP politician's word for anything? I already unintentionally donate enough of my taxes to people working against the country's best interests.
I read Sibel Edmonds (sp?) and have concluded Hastert is a corrupt criminal.
He should be in prison (with Bush and Cheney)
OFW, eh?

Not only that but Hastert's son is running for his father's seat. The father was bad enough but his son sounds and acts just like him.
You forget that Matlock ain't no effin repug. He and Opie made that refreshingly clear during the last election.
Pugs never forget......or forgive.
Jesus will come on the world's television channels, linked together by satellite. All those with access to television will be saved.
Ha ha . many people will believe it no doubt.
Action-packed! A great eulogy for Editor & Publisher. Balloon Juice took that worst WaPo columnist list and amended it - putting Richard Cohen at #1 of the worst, where he belongs.
