It's fine and dandy to nationalize GM, but if the Republicans get back into power before it goes private again expect massive pillaging, they'll pick the bones dry off of us...again

And

If there was a way to make a law that says Republicans can help govern, but they're not allowed to handle the money, I'd go for that

The first tape scandal was when the Egyptian Mummy Kharis kept unravelling in front of the ladies.

Why are some Christians so insecure about their religion that they need strangers to reassure them? Is their faith so weak it needs bolstering from without?

I've been saying "Happy Holidays" for years. To me it includes Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I'm not religious so I'm not going to do anything these nutcases say I should or should not do or say. I'm very stubborn, just ask my ex-husband and my children.

And Alban Arthann.

Will there ever be a lawsuit against sexist street corner Santas yelling, "Ho, ho, ho?"

...its propoganda.

I don't really want to throw my brethren under the Church bus but too many of them are not motivated by faith or Biblical truth.

Its too easy to let others do your thinking for you. Actually reading the Bible or even looking to Christ's example isn't as easy as letting politicians, millionaire preachers and the Limbaughs tell you what to think. That these people are enriching themselves at the expense of weak Christians seldom occurs to them.

I pity them. I try not to blame them.

and not all Christians who read their Bible celebrate christmas. If you want to be accurate about it christmas has nothing to do with the Bible at all - the word does not even appear.

It IS propaganda. Don't be afraid to throw them under that bus!

Just keeping tabs on the greatest names of the economic meltdown…

1 - Alan (easy money) Greenspan

2 - Phil (Enron) Graham

3 -The happy Republicrat squirrels in Congress who gave us:

4 - The Financial Modernization Act of 1999 - Let the Investment Banks, Commercial Banks and Insurance Companies all merge and then plunder on a world wide scale.

5 - The Commodities Futures and Modernization Act of 2000 - Let the plunderers sell unregulated Credit Default Swaps to make their plundering even easier.

6 - The happy Republicrat Bill Clinton (and his minions) who signed both of those bills of plunder much to the Plunderer's delight.

7 - The lax oversight and great cheerleading of Corporate Plundering George W. Bush (we have all the plundering legislation we need now, thank you very much Bill Clinton) and the Bush Brigades.

8 -And nearly last but not least, the Plunderers who donned fireman's helmets after the financial house burned down and plundering seemed imperiled. Joy of joys, they have gasoline galore in their fire hoses, the plundering flames come back to life and the plundering is revived. Let us plunder some more.

9 - Henry (the Master Plunderer) Paulson

10 - Ben (the Master Money Printer) Bernanke (he seems a genuinely nice guy so don't be too hard him)

And of course the honorable mention to all of the happy front line squirrels on the ground who were seemingly minor players in this drama, but we couldn't have done it without them:

The Mortgage brokers who foisted mortgages on people with teaser terms and rates that any professional could see would go bust.

The frontline bankers who passed those mortgages along, they surely knew that so many of them would go belly up.

The Appraisers who went along with the great ramp up in prices, because if they didn't, they didn't work.

The Rating Agency squirrels who nearly rated any damn thing in front of them as AAA.

And anyone else who I have forgotten to mention.

Oh yeah! The new guy, the one with an unusual sounding name, who was for the Bailout Plunder Revival too. The Plunderers love him, that is why they gave so much money to his campaign (he seems a genuinely nice and sincere fellow so don't be too hard him to start, it is change you can pretend in).

But Plunderers Do Rejoice, happy days will be here again.

Here is my previous comment on the matter.

One must wonder if people will change the name of "Il Papa Buono" ("The Good Pope") now...to something a little more appropriate.

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught
will we realize we cannot eat money.
