This Week with George Stephanopoulos notes the passing of three service members in Afghanistan.

US Army PFC Patricia L Horne, 20, Greenwood, MS
US Army SGT Christopher J Birdwell, 25, Windsor, CO
US Army SPC Mabry J Anders, 21, Baker City, OR

According to iCasualties, the total number of allied service members killed in Afghanistan is now 3,169.

Due to the number of "green-on-blue" attacks in recent weeks, the US Military announced this week that it will temporarily halt the training of Afghan forces, pending the re-check of the backgrounds of the existing 350,000 members.

In addition, the folllowing notable names lost their lives this week:

Anti-Nazi Resistance member and political prisoner Tomáš Sedláček, documentary producer Brian Gerber, journalist Malcolm Browne, feminist writer Shulamith Firestone, talent manager Chris Lighty, Wisconsin state representative John Shabaz, supercentarian Melva Radcliffe, actor Steve Franken, lyricist Hal David and leader of the Unification Church and founder of The Washington Times Rev. Sun Myung Moon.
