Obama to McCain: "Your attacks say more about your campaign than they do about me"
Barack Obama sure didn't shy away from the William Ayers/ACORN issue last night. He confronted McCain's smears head on, explaining the ridiculous guilt-by-association "connection" and denouncing them as petty, meaningless distractions.
In fact, Mr. Ayers has become the centerpiece of Sen. McCain's campaign over the last two or three weeks. This has been their primary focus. So let's get the record straight. [...]
Let me tell you who I associate with. On economic policy, I associate with Warren Buffett and former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker. If I'm interested in figuring out my foreign policy, I associate myself with my running mate, Joe Biden or with Dick Lugar, the Republican ranking member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, or General Jim Jones, the former supreme allied commander of NATO.
Those are the people, Democrats and Republicans, who have shaped my ideas and who will be surrounding me in the White House. And I think the fact that this has become such an important part of your campaign, Sen. McCain, says more about your campaign than it says about me.
Full transcript below the fold:
In fact, Mr. Ayers has become the centerpiece of Sen. McCain's campaign over the last two or three weeks. This has been their primary focus. So let's get the record straight. Bill Ayers is a professor of education in Chicago.
Forty years ago, when I was 8 years old, he engaged in despicable acts with a radical domestic group. I have roundly condemned those acts. Ten years ago he served and I served on a school reform board that was funded by one of Ronald Reagan's former ambassadors and close friends, Mr. Annenberg.
Other members on that board were the presidents of the University of Illinois, the president of Northwestern University, who happens to be a Republican, the president of The Chicago Tribune, a Republican- leaning newspaper.
Mr. Ayers is not involved in my campaign. He has never been involved in this campaign. And he will not advise me in the White House. So that's Mr. Ayers.
Now, with respect to ACORN, ACORN is a community organization. Apparently what they've done is they were paying people to go out and register folks, and apparently some of the people who were out there didn't really register people, they just filled out a bunch of names.
It had nothing to do with us. We were not involved. The only involvement I've had with ACORN was I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law that helped people get registered at DMVs.
Now, the reason I think that it's important to just get these facts out is because the allegation that Sen. McCain has continually made is that somehow my associations are troubling.
McCain, says more about your campaign than it says about me.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/... Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher related to Charles Keating. Oops. October 16th, 2008 . by Marty John McCain did great tonight in the debate. But every time John mentioned “Joe the Plumber,” some of us in the campaign banged our heads against the wall. If Steve Schmidt had any hair left, I hear he would have been pulling it out tonight. He reportedly screamed at John’s debate prep team tonight (out of earshot of reporters, of course). “You idiots - he’s related to Charles Keating… of the Keating Five scandal!” They thought they had a real live Joe Six-Pack who’s spurned Barack Obama’s tax plan. But what they forgot to do was check on Joe Wurzelbacher’s background. Turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher from the Toledo event is a close relative of Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, Ohio. Who’s Robert Wurzelbacher? Only Charles Keating’s son-in-law and the former senior vice president of American Continental, the parent company of the infamous Lincoln Savings and Loan. The now retired elder Wurzelbacher is also a major contributor to Republican causes giving well over $10,000 in the last few years. Does any of this make Joe the Plumber a bad guy? Of course not. But on a night when McCain accused Obama of guilt-by-association, this isn’t going to look good for us. Hello, but on a night when John goes full bore on William Ayers and dodges a bullet by Obama not mentioning Keating Five, the press is going to bring it back front and center by midday tomorrow once they delve deeper into the most popular plumber in America. This might remind you of the Paris Hilton scandal - where one side of the McCain campaign attacked her in an ad, not realizing that her family were huge donors. I was the first to warn the campaign of the perils of miscommunication, and that story flared for a week. http://www.eisenstadtgroup.com/2008/10/16/joe...
Jeez man, if you want to write so much, why don't you get your own blog?
it was so long that i didn't bother to read it...
Wow. Reading a paragraph is too long for you? I hope that you don't vote. Or breed.
That GOD is not verified?
totally unverifiable.
There's a New York Times article dated May 16, 1992, which outlines how Robert Wurzelbacher, Jr, Keating's son-in-law was convicted of several felonies related to that infamous banking scandal.

Just when you thought the McCain Campaign couldn't be any more inept they surprise us. These people couldn't run a nose let alone a country.
as it is, obama needn't enter the petty squabbling, this was evident in not only last nite's debate but the others as well. the candidates did not get caught up in "correcting" the misinformation of one another. rather they stayed for the most part focused on the primary issues: the economy, the war in Iraq, education, and taxes. However, because barack chose not to EXPOSE Joe, the plumber, this does not excuse our vigilant press. why haven't they run this as front page news in this morning's paper. i scoured our local paper, nary a mention. where is Helen Thomas, by the way.
http://theprogressivepost.blogspot.com/2008/1...
I thought. Though I still wish he'd put McCain on the spot and when McCain said something lame along the lines of how we need to know the full story. Obama should have turned to face McCain and simply asked: "I've heard you, Gov. Palin and others in your campaign say you just think you need to know the whole story about Ayers, implying I'm hiding something, so let me just ask you now, man to man: What is it you'd like to know?
I agree. McCain keeps harping on the "whole story" as if he knows something. I think Obama tossed it out there like someone who thinks the whole matter of Ayers is petty and childish.
Childish is how McCain looked.
This is the whole problem - McCain has been harping on this for weeks. If he had evidence that Obama and Ayers had done anything illegal or damaging to America, he'd have thrown it on the table. This is like his plan to take out Osama bin Laden - it's a fracking mystery.
All we've heard, and continue to hear, is 'serious and legitimate questions' and accusations that 'he's not being honest.'
"... and I also heard Saddam had WMD's, and Anna Nicole married for love!"
But Saddam did have WMD's.
Its way underground that would take about 100 years to dig up.
that disappointed me was that Bob "water carrier" Shieffer brought up the subject so Blinky McWhistle tooth didn't have to do it himself.

It's a basic philosophy in life. That when you speak about others your comments are 1/3 who you are speaking about, and 2/3 about you. This is why it's advantageous to critique in the third person. I believe it's also why comedians are such a great conduit for this type of criticism.
SMACKDOWN?!
Obama needs to have these remarks about who else was on the Annenberg board and ACORN edited into a commercial and run them between now and Nov. 4. Let those who keep harping on the ridiculous and shouting incendiary remarks be exposed for the domestic terrorists they are.
Although McCain id pathetic on many fronts, his juvenile, petty eye rolling and smirking show he doesn't have what it takes to go head to head with the world's leaders. What a little brat.
The out of context smiling was not only a little creepy but a stark contrast to the serious sober presidential demeanor of Obama.
The blinking though I'm sure is innocent, but frankly when I see someone blinking like that all I think is: Whatever they are saying, they are lying.
All that blinking is because he's a robot. He's trying to process the data coming at him from Obama.
That Joe the plumber shit is funny. Joe is a planted peanut. related to Keating...hahahahhahahahahahahahaaa Do they actually think that nobody would try to find out who Joe is. All the plumbers in the world, they just so happened to talk to one name Joe, does he have a six pack with him too?
He sure didn't have a six-pack ON him! #:)
"Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of Stupidity" - Frank Leahy
Oh no, he has more like a KEG on him. LOL.
Someone needs to make a compilation video or flash loop of all the times McCain blinked and/or smiled.
The one absolute which has surfaced and become crystal clear to the voters during these 3 debates is that John McCain can't even control his ridiculous facial expressions - how the hell can he hope to control the country and represent us with foreign leaders?
What's even more frightening is the visual of Sarah Palin doing it which doesn't say much for John McCain at all.
The split screen "ended" John McCain's career last night - dead in it's tracks. Since this image will be what's left of McCain in the voter's minds, I suspect that his next run for Congress will also end in total defeat.
I believe that John McCain, the grumpy, angry old man is what americans will remember this man as being. Gone now is the image of the POW hero.
It's like attending a wake where the cadaver is lying under a ton of make-up - that's how we remember them forever.
McCain, with all his ridiculous grimaces and babyish facial expressions, was just pitiable. Every time Obama clearly stated his points, his face was unbelievable - it was like he couldn't believe that a politician would actually say things the way Obama does! He is so lost in the world of Republican lies and lack of facts, that he can't seem to handle any pull back towards reality.
Like the previous debate, there was a part of me that actually felt sorry for him. He's like a relic from some archaic past, who doesn't yet realize that his time is over.
I was thinking this very thing as I watched the debate last night. I remember when McCain ran in 2000- I was just getting out of high school, it was the very first election in which I could vote, and I remember seriously considering registering Republican solely so that I could vote for McCain and against Bush in the primaries. While I disagreed with a lot of his platform, I respected the fact that he advocated "straight talk," that he had been a burr in the saddle of a lot of the Republican party cronies, and that he actually seemed to have an independent thought in his head, at least occasionally. I really wish I knew what the heck happened to that John McCain- he was a guy that I didn't agree with, but at least I could respect what he'd done and sort of understand where he was coming from. The guy I saw in the debate and have seen throughout most of the campaign... that's not the same guy. I think John McCain 2000 died somewhere around the start of Bush's second term when he started kissing Dubya's behind. Ugh.
Also, was I the only one who had a, "Wait... what?" moment when he casually suggested that it would be a fab idea to just throw people exiting the military into the classroom as grade school teachers, "Without making them take a test or get certified like some states do"? Seriously, WTF? I was in ROTC in college, I'm still considering OTS, I support the military, yadda yadda, but that has got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard anyone say. Oh, yes, having people get certified to teach is clearly a waste of time. And who better to teach our kids than a bunch of people who just served two or three tours in Iraq? Brilliant! Jesus, it's like Starship Troopers coming to life.
That the story that mcgramps launched his political career with the help of WACL (World Anti-Communist League), with it's fascists, death squads and Nazis, has all been disappeared?

Diabolus est Deus Inversus
Well done, Barak.
I do wonder why Obama didn't bring up McCain's past relationship w/ACORN? Maybe felt it wasn't worth national debate time?
On another note, I just received a letter from Rep Peter King (R, NY) that states in part...I voted for the rescue bill... (4) no funds will go to ACORN... wtf? Smells pretty stinky to drop that reference in the middle of his bailout letter. Guess its time to write another letter to Rep. King.
Peter King is everything that is wrong with the Republican party. I wish the Dems could get a viable contender to finally get this blowhard out of office. He i so condescending to his constituents who dare to have a difference of opinion with him.
OT: This string creased me up: "LegallyBlonde (not verified)".
Ta.
I believe Obama was more interested in framing it as a desperate, futile attack from the McCain campaign. Associating McCain with ACORN would push the debate into the realm of tit-for-tat where McCain can claim he's disassociated himself and ask why Obama can't do the same.
Tit-for-tat debate response sounds more like a sarah palin ploy.

Diabolus est Deus Inversus
why, if he soundly defeated him without ever entering the pig sty where mccain wanted to engage and saw as perhaps his only hope left. Obama stayed above the fray and showed exactly why this cool, collected dynamic factual man will become a great leader that we ALL will admire.
Since one of their "own" is responsible for bringing ACORN into fruition with intense support over the years by Johnny McCrazy, this issue is dead on arrival.
What is NOT dead on arrival, however, is the GOP's recent "illegal voter purge" which was upheld in the courts yesterday as being totally criminal.
Obama cleaned McCain's clock. The old man kept trying to engage in the same tired old culture war of the '80s and '90s, but couldn't connect. It was like watching a crazy old cat attack his shadow. Meanwhile Obama stayed on point and offered real substance.
Final debate tally:
Obama 3, McCain 0
Boy that was painful. I just wish the election was already over so McCain can finally retire.
I only saw the first round of questions related to ACORN and was somewhat disappointed that Obama didn't mention that a) ACORN were the ones who brought the voter registration problems to the attention of the Elections commissions as opposed to it being a situation where ACORN was caught trying to do something, b) that John McCain was for ACORN before he was against them and was a keynote speaker at one of their functions in 2006 and c) that the problems were with REGISTRATION and it was unlikely any of the false applicant names would've actually showed up to vote and if they had they would've been turned down at the polls (i.e. Mickey Mouse).
Check out Bryan Lambert's blog. He points out the problem with the ACORN conspiracy theory.
In short, it doesn't matter how many fake forms were turned in. Most of them were flagged, and the people who submitted them have no idea which ones went through, and which ones didn't.
So who shows up on election day? Mickey Mouse? Fred Flintstone? That not only requires that the fake registration went through, but that someone shows up to vote with a valid ID. For there to be any meaningful impact, that means there has to be an army of Fred Flintstones, all with valid ID, and all being able to vote in precincts without tripping off any suspicions on the part of the poll workers.
He clearly didn't have it down to sound-bite level, which is disappointing considering he's been goading McCain into it. What you say is true, but the way he wrapped it up was a slam dunk.
that was it, this candidate is in his last throes. it's over. Both Houses will have a majority and hope against hope there will be trial proceedings against the current admin for its constitutional indiscretions. Then the real work begins as Barack surrounds himself with the brightest minds in the nation as he and they begin to unravel this economic mess that GW and his cronies have led us into.
Have faith that once he is president, the rest of the world will begin to restore their faith in the United States of
America. If they believe in us and our judgment once again, world order can be restored.
Barack will be our new presdent and what a refreshing thought, to have one of intellect and good moral value leading us once again. I think he will be one of our greatest leaders.
So, I guess you'll have to change your "handle" to "once again, a proud merican?"
"Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of Stupidity" - Frank Leahy
yep.
The pundits went on and on about McCain's weird blinking, eye-rolling and grimace-like smiles. The effect definitely worked against him.
Thanks be to GOD for the info about Joe (the Plumber) Wurzelbacher and his possible connection to Charles Keating's son-in-law. Makes the plumber's comments a bit less legitimate. Was he a McCain or GOP plant? Just goes to show you that you'd better be a legitimate voter (he's not registered? Really? Amazing) or you yourself will be examined.
I read some where that he was using belladonna(deadly nightshde)on his eyes to keep them open and what ever drug he was taking for energy was making him cranky. Besides that notice his arguement that Obama has ties to Bill Ayres that need to be explored, despite no evidence, but as for his relationship to George Bush, he is independent.
He Was Independent. But has always been a staunch Repug. He goes back to Reagans years.
No, he kissed Boosh's ring to inherit the throne.
I wouldn't call him an independent by any stretch. Somewhat practical, maybe. But not Indy.
What is your conceptual, continuity?
great answer for Obama. it would have been nice to then kick it back into mcLames court and ask him to tell us who he associates with. lobbyist, an international criminal that hired mclame's campaign chief as a lobbyist.....
but taking the high road has proven to not only be efective, it also shows that Obama has a very sharp ear and clear undestanding of what americans want from people running for office after 8 years of smear and fear campaigns.
Did pitiful, but I was startled when he raised an argument I've been using for over a year, lowering the tariffs on Brazilian sugar-cane based ethanol.
But then 2 to 2 1/2 years ago, when I thought him an honest man, I let him know that TXU was ripping off it's customers, and I felt like Texas had no representation with Hutchinson and Cornyn. I also sent a list of changes in the energy policy I'd like to see, and that was one of them, along with CAFE standards, the ability to create tax deferred accounts so drivers of old cars can maintain them properly in the interest of the environment and it went for about a page.

Scary.
I see Joe's Plumbing sign...so if this was made before the debate...Hmmmmmm???
Is this right? I think it was Gen DAVID Jones.
Here is the General's bio from Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_L._Jones
Not only was McCain's "obsession" with Joe, the Plumber, counterproductive since Joe obviously can't relate to Middle America in purchasing a business at these dire times (who the hell has the capital to be buying a business right now anyway?)....but now we find that he's related to Charles Keating.
Oh, that Charles Keating, eh? Of the Keating 5 Scandal. McCain's aides had to be tearing their eyes out because they know that the pundits will now be unearthing all they can about Joe, the Plumber.
It's little wonder Joe cannot related to the rest of us when the Keating's money courses through his veins.
One would think that McCain and his "Kadre of Kooks" would have figured that one out. But, then again, we've seen time after time the level of troglodytism involved in the McCain Camp. These tired, "washed up" has beens involved in his campaign can't even strap on their Depends properly no less run this country.
Joe, the Plumber, is stuck in the toilet of American since McCain underestimated the american people and our resourcefulness.
Joe, the Plumber, lives in the Keating 5 Scandal family?? This man's cred is now shot, too.
This illustrates to middle america just how profoundly out of touch this cranky, old man and his goons are!
And, geez, McCain repeated his line about the Adler Planetarium star projector being an 'overhead projector.'
That just shows he knows nothing about science, doesn't give a shit about education, and can't be bothered to learn the facts (if he can accept correction gracefully at all).
On top of that, he was completely PWNED by the director of the Adler Planetarium, who held a press conference after the LAST time McCain made his lame joke. He was standing in front of the star projector, and had an overhead projector on a table next to him to show the difference.
At this point, it's a Dumb and Dumber ticket.

I guess the RNC has their "paid trolls" out there in force since it's now clear that Obama will be the next president of the United States.
Sorry, dude....but 4 out of 4 - Team McCain has lost pitifully.
Oh, and hey - I've got this stupid letter from a missionary named Saul de Groda that I've been meaning to pass on ... beware of kidney thieves ... After hearing McCain's bs about ACORN last night ("It's the End of Democracy!!") I am sure it will be used, even with a 10-point spread, to claim that the election was somehow "stolen".
Well if that is remotely true, pay back is a bitch, McCain. What goes around comes around, you old bitch.
Oh, I don't know. If they raise any allegations of voter fraud, they potentially expose their own hands in the cookie jar. But given McCain's judgement of late, one wonders if the Repugs are really THAT stupid...
joe the plummer is a rove plant. mccain brought him up to much in the debate for him not to be a plant. now the media is talking to him, and he is saying what rove wants him to say.
with billions on the line, you can't tell me he's not.
Joe The Plummer is another "stunt" of the Rove-run McCain campaign.
After today, his name will be mud when everyone outs him for the fraud whom he is. Anyone trying to buy a business in the worst economic crash since the Great Depression is either a liar, a shill, or totally insane. This is clearly not the time to be purchasing any business and middle america knows that.
On the up side for McNasty, maybe Joe The Plumber, his Keating goombah will give Mr. Mc Cain a job before Christmas??

Then we can get into Palin's "anti-government AIP terrorist ties" along with her guilty verdict last Friday for abusing power.
After that perhaps you may want to read (as I assume you truly want to educat yourself)about the real MIA story McCain's been covering up. I'll bring that url back "to ya!"....you betcha! And golly gee!
joe the plumber is a plant.
It wouldn't be the first time they pulled that one.
What is your conceptual, continuity?
Joe the Plumber's reputation is toast right now. He will live to regret agreeing to shill for a liar. His entire life will now be opened up to intense scrutiny but what the hell, he asked for it.
His Keating 5 connections are already outed. What will it be next for dear old Joe?
I hope he got his payoff money up front and he should go to alaska and hide.
This last debate has shown us a man who is poise under pressure. He's had the same grueling schedule as McCain; is dealing with the same issues as McCain. Despite McCain's chronic attempts to unsettle Obama (even with personal racial slurs), all it's done is draw a firmer contrast in the minds of the voters....voters who have had 8 years of dirty tricks by Bush and his in-your-face-lies. Voters are now educated in the Rovian Way and the DARVO which McCain attempted last night vis-a-vis Lewis was really pathetic and not well-received at all.
What we witnessed was John McCain on the stump, babbling on and lurching from one topic to the next without cohesion or coherenence. It was clear that this man who said the word "angry" three times in his first sentence only went on to show us what unchecked anger can look like.
McCain not only doesn't deserve this presidency; he needs to check into the nearest "Anger Management Clinic" immediately.
Was were McCains snarky venom was most obvious. He could barely contain his bile and contempt. That and his complete disdain for "women's health" were the final nails in his political coffin. RIP Johnny boy.
Note to John McCain. You do not laugh at your own lame jokes. Try to remember that.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I know - he definitely doesn't get it, does he?
What we witnessed was McCain on the stump where his kool-aid drinking kooks respond to his every word and gesture on cue. What he forgot was that people in the audience weren't drinking his kool-aid so his jokes fell totally flat to the ground and left him looking like a senile old fool.
If he can't distinguish between the stump and a serious debate and alter his persona accordingly, how can he possible handle the myriad of crises facing this country.
The John McCain we witnessed last night reminded me of a character right out of "The Cuckoo's Nest", frankly.
After spending some time speaking with women this morning regarding their thoughts on John McCain, it's clear that women across this country will reject him and put him in air quotes - air quotes like this: "also ran".
Mysogenist McCain was at his women hating best last night for everyone to see. If there is a woman out there who believes that his choice of Palin was not as close to treason as anyone in a campaign can come, they are now totally convinced that John McCain is a serial abuser of women who believes women to be nothing but a "personal armpiece" "a political tool".
What Palin has not already done to McCain in terms of diminishing him in the eyes of intelligent american women across this nation, McCain has now done to himself with his degredation of a woman's health by putting it into irrelevancy and the land of "air quotes".
How any woman could vote for him after last night is just beyond me. He apparently has no regard for women if he can joke about a woman's health. The son of a bitch is heartless.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Yea he forgot his momma is a woman and his wives are women. And the one he has now is paying for his retirement. I wonder if she has a boy toy on the side? Now that would be very funny.
All my boinking Gerardo the pool-boy jokes?

LOL..sorry to say, no I haven't.
I have no respect for any woman who would support a man like that.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Oh all the women who think Obama is arab will vote for him. .
What percentage of Americans can be deemed certifiably insane?
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Obama is far more intelligent(and intelligible), more talented, better ideas, kinder, more thoughtful, healthier, far better looking, more likable. Stop shaming yourself and your family name with pointlessly angry outbursts, lies and smear tactics....just quietly go away and remember, we've all gotten our asses kicked.
Maybe McCain is talking about Joe the Plumber, as in Colson and Ehrlichman's Plumbers?
Seriously though, when he talks about a plumber, you notice it's one who has employees. He can't seem to even envision any of the electorate that doesn't have its own business, even when he's talking to fictional blue-collar folk.
Unfortunate for McCain that he selected Joe as his "face" of middle america because anyone who is contemplating the purchase of a business right now is not only as insane as McPappy but definitely not considered to be middle class by any stretch of the imagination.
Once again, Mr. Seven Houses and Thirteen Vehicles, has shot himself in the foot.
That would've gotten himself out of Vietnam.

Everyday and in every way Barack Obama has provided the hope and comfort the american people so desperately need right now. Obama has become the president already to a majority of americans because our current president is AWOL (again, you say? It does remind us about his AWOL status in the national guard, doesn't it. That aspect alone should have clued us in).
The concept of President Obama is now resonating very positively in the minds and the hearts of a clear majority of americans. We've watched his steady hand, his cool composure, and his factually direct way of fielding even some of the most emotional of questions and it continues to do it with grace, poise and aplomb.
Middle America believes that these qualities clearly create the image of Barack Obama as "presidential"....something we've longed for in 8 horrendous years of having a buffoon representing us.
If Obama said "I am rubber you are glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you," mcgramps would say that reference to rubbers means Obama is pro-birth control.
But of course if Bill Clinton said the sky is blue, some people would argue that's racist since everyone knows the blues were invented by black men.

just nicely put.
I have yet to meet a single American who will vote for Obama, and yet he has all this supposed support from blogs and media polls. I think America should vote for who will help American families stay alive and prosper rather than bring fear down upon American children and women and men. I think most Americans are very, very supportive of McCain and Palin. I honestly can't see America ruled under Barack Hussein Obama and his policies and associations. That would be national suicide and America's not that kind of place. I can't see how that would benefit American lives in the slightest.
You need to stop talking to people who've drunk to GOP Kool-Aide.
There's a whole world out there! Try expanding your horizons.
As for Supportive of Palin and McCain, I know people who are for them (yet they give no good reasons), and against them (a position for which they tend to have MANY reasons).
Talking to people at GOP rallies doesn't exactly give a person a well rounded view of the world.
I should also point out that the past 8 year haven't been good to American Families. If you vote for McCain, things will get much, much worse.
You don't stay the course when you're about to drive off a cliff. McCain is a tool of the GOP... and it seems that they could give a damn about America. They're more concerned with robbing our coffers and killing lots of brown people.
You should get out more. And maybe you should just leave 'Merica when Obama is sworn in as our new LEADER (not RULER, that is for dictators and monarchies and the Bush/Cheney cabal). If Obama scares you, you aren't very "American" and not much of a "Man".
If we continue to push the boosh/mcgramps economic plans we'll not only have national suicide, but international as well.

When the candidates were asked about some of the negative things each campaign had said about the other, I could not fu*king believe that McCain brought up the damned town hall meetings he wanted Obama to hold with him. In other words since Obama wouldn't bow to his wishes he went all down and dirty on him. McCain sounded like some sort of bully, if you don't do things my way, you'll be sorry.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
No moss grows on the Obama campaign. Remember last night when McCain said I'm not geo bush? Well that moment is now a part of a new Obama ad.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Oh big sigh, I HEART OBAMA!!!
Senator McCain portrayed himself as very emotional and unpresidential during the discussion on negative campaigning from both parties and I thought Senator Obama knocked him out by asking to focus on the matters that really matter to people. The audacity to mention your hurt feelings, for comments that you and your running mate has started, calling senator Obama as "Palling around with terrorists"? Now you want to cry over someone pointing out the possible consequences of your own actions? Isn't that the very political attitude that has brought this crisis in the US? Washington going easy on corporations... and the consequences are on us... the tax payers... What about our hurt feelings to foot the bill for your party's governing mistakes? It is us and the generations to come who will have to live with the consequences. McCain really came across as a politician. Your effort to stick Senator Obama with some wrong doing was an effort in vein, my friend!
To paraphrase Frank Zappa, "John McCain is destined to replace the mudshark in your mythology."
And my opinion of Obama's performance: Fuckin' A!
How many of y'all have ordered A Not Sarah Palin Inflatable Doll?

I was not an Obama man! I wanted Hillary.
But Obama's talking style is beyond. His powerful control of the English language. His reasoning and logic grip.
Did you see him talking to "Joe the Plummber". For a minute, I thought the man was being aggressive, but Obama took him thru the whole spiel of his economic thought and at the end it looked like the the man was agreeing with Obama. Can you picture, or better yet, have you ever thought of Bush or McCain being able to give such a performance? Those two idiots made it to where they are because of their "Daddies". Othewise they'll be building highways.
In my opinion, Obama is our own Tony Blair without the bullshit accent.
I love the guy!
Turns out Joe is related to Charles Keating and was a plant.
Also turns out McCain is an idiot.
MCCAIN WAS MAD - MAD - MAD during the debate! Never calm - never cool - never collected - just MAD!!
And twitchy!!
Here's the accent:

That's because the deregulated FDA can't keep mad cow beef out of his diet.
"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."
You don't even have to dig too deep to find out that he's related to Keating either. I mean, how many guys named "Wurtzelbacher" are running around out there? And he just so happens to show up at Obama's rally to question him. Gimme a break! McCain made sure to question Obama on that meeting because he was SUPPOSED to be there. How many plumbers make over $100,000 a year? I'm in the wrong racket!

McCain did not offer up anything new in the debate. If you go back and watch it again, he made one mistake after another, and many of his comments made no sense.

OH!!! SNAP!
Obama's got nothing to worry about, now that he's secured the mutant vote:
http://www.weeklyworldnews.com/election-08/ba...
Barack Obama has received the political endorsement of America’s favorite precocious mutant: Bat Boy.
“This boy is a shining example of the American dream,” Obama said at a small press conference held after the meeting.
“Coming from meager beginnings, cast out for who he is, he now enjoys the freedom and limitless possibility granted to every American.”
Whoa--talk about attention deficit disorder! We're really in deep do-do when a paragraph is considered heavy reading...compare that to the time when War and Peace might've illicitated a gumby-esque comment.
Perhaps gumby is that lady/functioning idiot that thinks barack is an "arab".
