Real Time: Best Election Ever Recap
By SilentPatriot Sunday Nov 02, 2008 7:00am
Bill Maher closed Friday night's "New Rules" with a great recap of the 2008 election and why it's been the best, most unpredictable race in history.

The dark side has elicited that reaction. Constitutional and competent government is past due. Tweety today is making a very big deal about how epochal the election is, shows a clip of Joe Klein saying Michelle wouldn't let Obama run, very funny.
You were supposed to wait until 6:11 to post that, remember? It was in the memo.
Making you numerically first. okay?
...-!
I love this man's candor! You can always count on Bill to bring out the truth we're too afraid to admit.

The funny thing is the Yahoo news reports that mcgramps has a projected 180 electoral votes to Obama's 330 when you only need 270 to win.
But in their graph, they make it almost look neck-in-neck.
Don't ask, don't tell.
it's been a ver entertaining campaign. But it's been far too long. Yeah, we'll get a few more gaffes from palin in the next few days, and we'll see the craziest trick plays fom Greater Wingnuttia (hey, Larry Johnson had to be holding something in reserve for the day his theory on Obama's fraudulent birth certificate was disproved), but I still can't wait for Tuesday to come and go. I'm exhausted from ROFLMFAO!11!!!!eleven!!11!!
My fear is that if Obama wins that Greater Wingnuttia won't be satisfied and try to block everything he does or call him an invalid President. It won't matter if he wins by 1% or 10%, they will reject him. The Senate will probably not be filibuster proof and the Republicans will continue to block everything, bring false charges and try to find anything they can on him to discredit him.
Greater Wingnuttia is voting on two issue: abortion and gay marriage. The country could be destroyed and they will still hold these two issues key to their "survival." If they want a true religious state, maybe they should move to the Middle East. They seem to have plenty of religious States there.
I am hoping for the best, but I fear that Americans are too ignorant and stupid to put a competent black man in power. They would rather be standing in food lines.
I think Greater Wingnuttia is bound together by one issue: Democrats. That's it. You could run Governor Casey of Pennsylvania as the Democratic candidate and the wingnuts would vote against him.
....because Governor Casey has been quite dead for quite a while.....!
That was hilarious. Gonna wacth it again after this post.
I wonder if any wingnut states will secede in the next two months? I would be willing to let them - and take all their republican idiots with them.
After about 2 years of no longer getting their welfare subsidies from the blue states, those conservatard morons would be begging us libruls' to take em' back.
One of the best parts about Real Time is the quality of guests. Keep up the good work Bill.
Fence on wrong border....time to elect a black muslim....goes to church every week for 20 years proving he's muslim.....not bad...congrats to Bill's writers. The New Rules part of his show is always funny.
"People have gotta stop saying that this is the most exiting, dynamic, important, issue driven presidential election ever...I mean c'mon folks,
Isnt this a lot like watching a professional wrestling match and rooting for Hulk Hogan to "win" in his match with the Undertaker? ....don'tchall know that Vince McMann has already chosen the winner?"
Not only are both candidates "chosen" by the mstrmedia and funded by the same corporations but there is (this little problem) we Americans have called DIEBOLD!
The only real differences I see are that ...McCain't wants to stay in Iraq...Obama want to focus in Afghanistan.
there are many voters who aren't vision impared. 'The only real difference' you see? You need glasses.
This past week we saw the shards of the McCain campaign - less people for pathetic Palin and school kids being bussed in by the droves to make it look like they had people there.
Just take a gander at their audiences these days.....paltry few, if you discount the captive kids.
Ever EVER have to hear about Joe the Freaking Unlicensed Plumber ever again! Give that scary baldhead a job with Roto-rooter and send him below decks where he belongs.
Joe the Sam the not-a-plumber but a tax dodger who is starting his recording career where he'll become fabulously wealthy and doesn't want to pay his fair share Wurzelbacher!
Right?
I thought Cornel West was going to pass out there.
period.

Why isn't Amato and his Javascript hirees acceding to your -- and my -- reasonable request that our REGISTERED monikers -- "Neo-clasical secular humanist", in my case -- not be cut-off to the 13 or 14 character limit? What could possibly be the reason for not extending that parameter to say, 30 characters? Makes no sense to me.

that was a homerun.
agreed
Agreed. Maher and his writers were on fire!
will be different this time because of one major thing. US. We're connected, well-informed and fed up with their all too predictable, same-old same-old. We have an effective network to counter the corporate media. Obama and staff are ahead of them every step of the way.
All the Goopers have are the same old Atwater-Rove dirty tricks. Most Americans are sick of them, finally.
LMAO-ty C&L
You can always count on Bill Maher to put it in right words. He may be offensive on times. But, he is still the best. This was the best election I have ever seen across 4 continents and it will bring the best in America and I am still not eligible to Vote.
Love you Bill and C&L.
Ok, best Bill Maher to date.
Bill Maher, Best Election Ever
This is one of the best New Rules comments about the election. Feel so good to have good and intelligent people informing their readers and viewers about the election, although it's in a comedy format, still reflect the reality of what is happening in the 2008 election.
Good Job guys!!!
and he is in top form here. Hilarious!
Sadly, most of the hardcore right (aka "dummies") won't recognize this as sarcasm and they'll instead view this as a call to arms.
"Ya hear that, Jeb? I told ya we'd be fightin' the Russkies agin, this time from within! Di'nt I, Di'nt I?"
mentioning ecstasy and big ass titties..how could he go wrong?
