Ex-Blue Cross Hack: Health Insurance 'Worst Product in History'
By Susie Madrak Saturday Nov 07, 2009 6:00pmVia Raw Story. Actor/comedian Andy Cobb once did ads for Blue Cross in Florida. And now CIGNA's Wendell Potter has someone to talk to:
Teaming with the liberal Brave New Films, a former Blue Cross pitchman is now pitching against Blue Cross.
Andy Cobb, who once tried to sell Floridians on a Blue Cross health insurance plan, says he's fed up with the industry.
"I was a spokesman for BlueCross and Blueshield of Florida," Cobb says. "Call me a spokesjerk. People who make money for buying things you don't need. And we're telling you lies."
"They, by which I mean I, make money by standing in the way of reform," Cobb says in the ad, which appears as a spoof of something like a freecreditreport.com ad. "It's time for change."
"That's why I'm calling on leaders from the spokesjerk industry," Cobb continues. "The freecreditreport.com guy. The Shamwow dude. And Senator Bill Nelson, recipient of big money from insurance companies -- to lead us. To walk away from their cash cows and tell American people the truth.
"And us spokesjerks, we'll be fine," Cobb adds. "There's plenty of room in entertainment for people who tried to sell you the worst product in American history. Private health insurance."

I'm not even sure that the ghost of Billy Mays could sell us a product that cleans up day-old, stained Republican from the Capitol floors....
..but mostly to Barack Obama: what took you so long??!!!???
I mean, for crying out loud, the EVENING OF THE VOTE YOU START LEANING ON PEOPLE???!!!!
Again, for crying out loud!!! WTF??
What is wrong with you??? Have you read and re-read your campaign promises???
Sure, your supporters tell us that when you look back, there's nobody there. Well, screw that.
We all got together to select a LEADER. Not a Leader in compromising. No, a Leader in making bold choices and changes. That is a Leader that the followers would get behind!! But it takes a LEADER!!
Since you took office you've been relying on established and 'experienced' people to guide you. Yeah, those same established and 'experienced' people who took US, the United States, to the brink of...of..well disaster. Yet, after taking the advice of all those people, spending all this (unaccounted for!!) money....well, we're still at the brink of disaster.
For f*k's sake, go outside the norm. Drop the Wallstreet people.
Go with people with some common sense, who will advice you how to go about helping common people. How to stop the...well,...how to stop this bleeding of the US economy.
Seriously.
Really? WTF IS the product anyway? I started asking that a month or so ago, when they started claiming to be too big to fail, in a sneaky way--via "Health insurance makes up 1/6 of the economy." Really? With what, exactly? Taking poor people's money and giving it to rich people, occasionally stumping up for the odd surgery, cancer treatment, bottle of insulin or a box of colostomy bags, with co-pays, of course.
But mostly, it is an industry that takes money in exchange for nothing.
This one Republick Rep., I don't know his name, but who was so so proud to have had some sort of male cancer, had the absolute best care available in the US. Well, he said basically, halleluja, the US has the best care.
No, YOU have the best care. I sure hope you lose you're next election, then have to pick your own insurance. Ha! You more than likely will get denied, unless of course you already made your deal.
Eff you.
amendment yesterday!!!:

BTW..., since Rep. Weiner had already requested the Congressional Budget Office to score H.R. 676 in preparation for the "historic" debate/vote Speaker Pelosi promised him, I'd like to know the results of that score. After all, we DID pay for it!!!
If anyone has any info. on this, I think there are a whole lot of people who would like to know about it!
Which is why this is the most stupid product of all time. Our homeless and illegal immigrant population get free health care whenever they want by just going to the Emergency Department day, after day, after day. The rest of us can do it too by just going to the Emergency Department and giving wrong identification and billing address information. Free public health care already exists!
I'm sure that'll go over well.
