The administration's scandal woes were severely exacerbated yesterday with the USA purge intersecting with warrantless wiretapping. First, Alberto Gonzales essentially told the National Press Club that Deputy AG McNulty is to blame for firing the 8 USAs, then James Comey, Deputy AG before McNulty, told Congress that the administration pressured a hospital bedridden John Ashcroft to approve the warrantless wiretapping program that both he and Comey refused to OK amid concerns about its legality and oversight.
These scandals are getting hard to keep up with, huh? This is what happens when that little thing called "oversight" is exercised. And to think, we're only four months into the Democratic majority.
