Dec. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The independent movie theater is a dying breed but there are still some iconic indie cinemas out there. Brooklyn's new Nitehawk Cinema successfully challenged New York's prohibition-era drinking law. The Alamo is home to five-day Quentin Tarantino movie marathons and TCL Theater in Los Angeles, the host of the 1977 Star Wars premiere, has reinvented itself with IMAX. (Source: Bloomberg)
