Snow Cancels Chris Christie's Inaugural Celebration On Ellis Island

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie’s inauguration party tonight on Ellis Island has been canceled due to the weather, the planning committee announced this morning.

The celebration included a VIP reception for donors who gave above the $500 ticket price. That's off, too.

The official swearing in and governor’s speech are expected to continue as planned in a few hours in Trenton.

The Inaugural Committee released the following statement:

"Unfortunately due to the anticipated severe weather conditions posed by today's winter storm, we have made the decision to cancel this evening's Inaugural Celebra...
