Sen. Bernie Sanders called out Rep. Paul Ryan's cruel budget proposal for being exactly what it is; vulgar and obscene and out of touch with what the American people want.

Sen. Bernie Sanders took the Ayn Rand worshiping, zombie-eyed granny-starver to task on MSNBC this Thursday following the passage of his budget in the House: Bernie Sanders Slams Paul Ryan’s Budget as Vulgar and Obscene:

Sen. Sanders was on Politics Nation with Al Sharpton when he ripped into the Ryan budget, “The problem with the Ryan Budget is that it is so vulgar, so obscene, so out of touch with what the American people want and need that it is literally hard to believe, hard to believe. The richest people in this country are doing phenomenally well. The Ryan budget substantially lowers taxes for millionaires and billionaires. Working families and low income people are struggling. The Ryan budget makes savage cuts in nutrition programs, in education, and healthcare. It does exactly the opposite of what the American people need, and what the American people want, and as you indicated, this is a continuation of the war against the middle class and working families that the Republican Party has been mounting and fighting for a number of years now.”

Sanders also explained why Republicans pass budgets that contain things that the American people oppose, “So why do they do this? The answer is the American people don’t want to see the end of Medicare as we know it. They don’t want to see horrendous cuts in Medicaid or in nutrition programs, or at a time when kids can’t afford to go college, major cuts in federal aid to college students so that they can afford to go to school. Why do the Republicans do it? The American people don’t want it, but the Koch brothers and the other billionaires do want it. And what this whole business is about is catering to the needs of the wealthy and the powerful so you can solicit more and more campaign contributions and win elections.”

Not only did Bernie Sanders basically call Paul Ryan a Koch puppet, but he also could not hide his disgust with the budget that the House passed. Sen. Sanders (I-VT) was correct. This is the planting of the income inequality flag in the Republican war against everyone who isn’t rich. Read on...
