C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Orchestra Čalgii

It's Thursday, which means that, it's time for Macedonian traditional music.

At least that's probably how it works somewhere. Here's a traditional women's dance that's been arranged for both western instruments like clarinet and violin as well as traditional Macedonian instruments like qanun and doumbek. With that sort of orchestration, I feel that this performance does a really good job of representing Macedonia's western and middle-eastern influence at the same time.

Got any favorite traditional pieces?
