After West finished his little rant, Manson came back at him with the assertion that he should be the one respecting artistry. Considering Beck played 14 instruments on his last album (including vocals) and Beyonce played one (vocals) Beck only had one writer on his album (himself) compared to Beyonce's album, which took 25 people to write. In addition, Manson told West that Beyonce doesn't need him to fight her battles for her. It's noble of Manson to have brought attention to appreciation of true artistry in the industry, but it's a shame that this discussion was started by an arbitrary trophy.
