C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Tame Impala

Tame Impala put out their first new, original music since 2012 yesterday.

On their social media, it was described simply as "NEW SONG. Track 1." If that isn't implying that the release of the new album is pretty close at hand, then I don't know what is. Also, if this really is the first track, then I'm pretty excited for what's to come. With really creative bands, it's always a bit nerve-wracking when they announce new material, because you never know if it will measure up. However, in this case, it was a pretty satisfying feeling to hear something so different from their last two albums. Granted it's still psychedelic and sounds like Tame Impala, but it's definitely "more electronic" as Parker stated it would be. Although, the first track might not be the best indication of what the album as a whole will sound like, especially since Be Above It off of Tame's last album, Lonerism, sounded so different from the rest of the album. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
