Peggy Noonan Calls Clinton, Not Republicans, An Extremist On Abortion

Our Lady Of The Magic Dolphins (h/t Charlie Pierce) has gone around the bend once again. It's not the Republicans, who want to do everything possible to limit women's access to affordable health care, and who would be happy to take us back to the days with back alley abortions and coat hangers that are the extremists.

No, it's Hillary Clinton for saying that Carly Fiorina is an irresponsible liar and that most late terms are out of medical necessity and we shouldn't have the government sticking its nose into that decision.

Here's Nooners from this Sunday's Face the Nation responding to host John Dickerson asking her what she thought of Clinton's appearance.

PEGGY NOONAN, "THE WALL STREET JOURNAL": I thought it was unusual for her. I thought it was quite composed, direct, quite collected.

It isn't that she changed, I think, too many of the things she's been saying for awhile but she seemed awfully comfortable. My own view was that she made mistakes on the issue of Planned Parenthood and late-term abortion when she didn't give an inch. She essentially said, Planned Parenthood, just fine; late-term abortion, very complicated but, no, she won't be opposing it.

These are issues that I think people are ready to be very thoughtful on, compromising on and not extreme on. So I think we'll be hearing something about that.

Yes Peggy, I'm sure if she just gives them an inch, they'll never try to take a mile... Oh never mind. It's a little bit late for that already, isn't it? I'm sure we'll be hearing more from them on the issue as well... more lies and outrage over doctored videos.
