The word first was that there was a death at Paisley Park. "No, not Prince. Prince can't die." As the word started trickling in though it became true. Then the AP confirmed it.

I am seriously at a lost for words now. I don't bandy the word genius around much but in this case I will. What an amazing musician and ultimate eccentric. His music was the only thing EVERYone in my high school could agree on. He transcended genres and sounds.

So many great songs to choose from. It would be hard to narrow it down to just one to post in remembrance, Since he was not a fan of things like Youtube and other streaming services and had his music pulled from the often it would also be hard to find one that is actually him or not of utmost quality. Here's him live in 1982. He was 23 years old and was just starting to make inroads into the pop charts.

This news hits me hard.

Prince Rogers Nelson was 57 years old.

Please keep comments on topic: music and memories of Prince. The regular Music Club is posted at the usual time, Sunday through Friday. Thank you.
