Sen. Ted Cruz' popularity has dropped by 35 points since the RNC convention making a case that actions do have consequences in Republican politics after all.

Apparently acting like a jackass at an RNC convention does has consequences.

We knew there was no love lost between Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump after Donald repeated smeared Cruz, his wife and father repeatedly during the Republican primaries.

But thinking you will be admired for taking a stand on your principles while giving your speech and then getting booed off the RNC convention stage hasn't worked out too well for the Senator from Texas.

I'm not sure how much people cared all that much about the RNC pledge of supporting the wining candidate matters, but after it was all said and done, people generally don't like sore losers and when a nominee has been selected, it's expected that if you're making a speech, you endorse the nominee.

Sen. Cruz came off looking like a petty and vindictive man and it's not surprising that his popularity has collapsed within the Republican party.

No wonder a hack like former Gov. Rick Perry is now beating Cruz in Texas polling for the 2018 Senate seat.
